  • The WD is USB 2.0. Can these be opened and used in a laptop/pc?

    • It is a 3.5" drive so it would have to be a desktop. I am not sure 100% about this model but chances are it is possible. Do be aware that a lot of these drives are slower 5200rpm drives so they are not as sick AF the standard 7200rpm desktop drive

      • Yeah sorry, I missed the 3.5". Could still be OK for storage, but not really cheap for a slow drive

  • We're there any deals in there for the note 10.1?

      That's really bad grammar

  • Without asking for too much detail : is the Galaxy Tab 2 decent enough to play AVIs/MKVs (travel, trips etc) ?? (coming from an iPad 32 gig - would love to of course be able to 'add/remove' memory… but of course Apple haven't progressed to 'that' point)

    • I have not heard any specific issues regarding true galaxy tab 2 regarding video playback. They are pretty grunty and should not be any worse than your iPad.

I played around with my sisters Tab2 16G 3G for about a week… mainly used it for watching videos. I was impressed. it did the job, there was no skipping of frames that I could tell.
If you are comming from a retina display iPad you might be dissapointed as Tab2/Note is only 1280x800 resolution.

      My gripes are
      1) the 30pin (Apple look alike) connector can only charge the device if it plugged into the wall charger, a USB computer port will not charge it.
      2) the 30 pin connector is on the bottom long edge so putting it in a folder cover case you cannot sit it up and charge it at the same time. Watching a video while it is charging is also bothersome as it get in the way being at the bottom.
      3) Audio speakers are poor. Best to watch your videos with a set of decent in ear headphones.

      Also
pricing is ONLINE as well… Tab2

so JBHifi and OW should be able to price match it OW with extra 5% off maybe :)

If you want to watch video while charging just turn it upside down so the connection is at the top.

        • you cannot do that when it is in the case!
when it's out of the case then the headphone cable is in the way :(

"The 720p video playback from outside sources was smooth and crisp; 1080p files that were only a couple hundred megabytes in size, played fine, but files that were larger, say 1GB looked less like a moving picture and more like a slideshow of images. That's one of the ways that Tegra 3 clearly enhances the Android tablet experience."

      • This is one of the reasons I'm considering the quad core note 10.1 instead.

  • Thanks for sharing.

  • 1gb processor is a bit slow though isnt it? I am only guessing here, maybe it is special in some way but I have a 1.5 in my tablet and wouldnt want slower than that.

    But yes, thanks for sharing.

    • lol

  • Any chance of connecting a 3G wireless dongle to this?
