Gas boosted solar hot water system Sydney - Looking for info / recommendations

I'm looking for a solar hot water system and I live in the inner west in Sydney. I have natural gas to the property so figure a gas boosted system is probably my best bet. I need a biggish system (4 people in the house).

Has anybody put in a similar system recently? Any idea how much I should expect to pay? Any recommendation on system / installer?

Any general info welcomed as well.

  • I Did the reasearch a year or so back and this system came out as the best, http://www.siddonssolarstream.com/heat-pumps-products , great reviews on product review.com including responses if anyone has had issues, in the end we did'nt get one as with only two of in the house it did not make sense. hope this helps

  • Hi mate we sell a Solar Hot Water Product called Sunshower Australia they use U-Pipe Technology.
Most competitors are using heat pipe which has a number of disadvantages.

There is other Hot Water Services out there like Heat Pump which was suggested but Heat pump doesn't last long until the compressor fails and these types of systems become very expensive to replace parts.

Heat pump still has running costs and are very high compared to solar.

A recommendation we give is to use electric boost because they rarely have to be boosted due to the new technology we have available such as The CPC REFLECTOR KIT.

  • hey m8
I have a DUX sunpro 315L with 2 panels. electric boosted though.
I'm knocking down my house, so if you are interested make me an offer. you'll have to organise taking it down and talking to plumber to get it installed.

unit is 4 years old. I've recently done a service on it and replaced the Anode as well. i.e good as new.
