Slow cooker

I'm looking for a slow cooker to make meals which can often take 6-9 hours long. I saw one at Kmart for a decent price (cannot recall the price), but does not include a timer.

Another, which includes a timer, which I found at Robbin's Kitchen (spelling?) retailed for $159.99

Is this expected cost of a Slow Cooker? Are there other good deals around? Or one particular brand(s) I should focus on, or altogether avoid?

  • I was at Harris scarf today, there were a few on clearance that started today, as I wasn't interest in them I didn't look to close at prices. Have a Look at your local…

  • +2

Buy a cheap one and just get a timer for the power socket.

  • Pretty sure there is a ronson one at target for $69, was originally $129 or so.

Multi function, rice, slow, pressure etc.

  • Really cheap ones often at Homeart. Problem is heat settings: My small unit set on Low cooks stuff in 2 hrs where recipe says 6 is required (= not so tender results). Now only use it for keeping soups, gravy etc hot.

  • We had the same problem as pebee47 with a breville one. Crock Pot is far superior.
