130

Dear all

I was looking for a good compression clothes, check Sportmart and they have 30% off Skins.

Went to Rebel yesterday and today to buy A400 Long tights and Long Sleeve Top. They match the price and 10% price match.

A400 Long tights Black/Yellow: $169.99 - $68 Discount (40% off) = $101.99
A400 Long Sleeve Top: $ 139.99 - $56 Discount (40% off)= $83.99

Quick search online, Amazon and others are either similar or more expensive, plus shipping, waiting, trying / testing and warranty, I think it is pretty good deal.

If it is not, please let me know so I can return and buy a new one. Hope it helps someone also looking for compression.

Second post so …. please be mercy.

P/S: Can post receipt if anyone needs it.

  • Unfortunately this deal ended: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/106755

but the compression items from this deal are still available for $11.99:

  • dustmite eat dead skin

  • Correct me if I'm wrong. It's still approx $107 after pricematching and their discount because it comes to $118.99 off the site and then 10% of that price for pricematch @ Rebel.

  • Thanks Jamestownfx, but it is winter and most people will need long sleeve and long tights. Also, I would assume Skins is better, or not?

to Mit, No, they try to do that to me but I told them, 30% off price match + 10% of total original price (their price match policy)= 40%. That's why, I paid $102 for the tights and $84 for the l/sleeve (receipts attached)

    • Thanks mate. Good to know. I never knew about their price match policy or that they even had one. You may want to include that in the description as I am sure others would be very grateful :D

    • Whereabouts is this price match policy written? Couldn't find it and the girl wouldn't give it to me on those grounds. Had to just show your receipt - they have to honour the price from another store. Anyhow worked out well. Thanks.

Wiggle.com.au price is generally cheaper than any Australian store (delivers faster as well for some reason).

  • I thought price matching wasn't a deal?

    • It isn't.

But this deal post is fine. It's in the rules and guidelines.

  • If you know your size and can wait few days.

I just check the website, only Tights and size XL, XXL and XS. All others had gone.
It will cost $94.26 delivered, which is better than $102, but limited stock and size.

There is 40% off skins compression at Amart All sports. Not sure if its all Amart but there is at Amart loganholme Qld, plenty of stock still. It's a members offer but it's free to join and can be done at the counter when you check out. If Rebel price match then you could get it down to 50% at Rebel sports.

    • do they have full length tights at that store? None on the website.

      • There was women's full length and 3/4 length tights. Unfortunately I didn't look to see if there was men's full length (was shopping for the g/f)

    • I'd be interested to know if Rebel Sports will price match Amart Sports because they are the same company. Check out the look of the websites and the copyrights on both pages and you'll see they are both Rebel Group Ltd.

If they do price match and add the additional 10% off, that'd be amazing.

  • I bought my last skins from chainreactioncycles. It was cheaper when the AUD was strong. Now a pair of A400 long tights is AUD$102.04 delivered .. 5 cents more than this deal. Maybe less if you use a card like 28degs.

edit: plenty of sizes available there

  • Lucky g/f. But I am after man's compression gears. Same as mit, I could not find the long sleeve and tights.

  • As Raged pointed out above, isn't wiggle cheaper? or is there a reason to overlook wiggle?

    Thanks

  • I bought 2XU THERMAL COMPRESSION TIGHTS BLACK MENS from Amazon. only cost me $89 include shipping, but 2~3 weeks waiting time. You can't find it under $100 here in Aus, even ebay…

  • Is there a large diff in quality between brands? I have the aldi ones but dont know what the main differences are.

I don't know about Aldi, but I can feel a difference between Skins, 2XU, Nike, Under Armour, and Line Break.

I think the Skins A400 feels the best in terms of material and compressive 'feeling', followed by 2XU, Line Break, Under Armour, and Nike a distant last. The Nikes I have just feel like regular lycra shorts.

Whether or not the compressive feeling translates to less DOMS, I haven't tested properly yet!

      • I'm normally an Under Armour person and it has medium compression (not as good as Skins A400), however the main advantages is vented area's to keep you cool, the anti-chafing and the sweat wicking. It really depends on your skill level. If you're a beginner, then you're really not going to take advantage of a good set of Skins A400 before your body changes shape. If you're a beginner or only doing 5-10km jogs however, the under-armour gear is adequate for the price.

Powertite (sold on Livingsocial occasionally) are made with a more stretchy fabric than Skins.
The Aldi 'Snow Compression' tights were not very compressive at all, especially around the buttocks - but they did work well to keep my legs warm.

  • Don't forget ChainReactionCycles. Their (everyday?) pricing has been at discount of 37% for a while.
Buying two A400 items would allow free shipping.
