This is a better time to travel than in the US summer
- The temp is milder
- in US summer prices jump sky high for accommodation car rental attractions etc because of their holidays
- Everything is so crowded
The Qantas site seems to have crashed at 9:00am. Have been trying for 20mins to get on.

These fares are so cheap I'm thinking I'll just go to America by myself for about 4 weeks.. been to L.A. and it's a beautiful place, N.Y.C. was good too.. usually more expensive, can't believe it's $908 now.

Nah.. prices have been going down for a while now, nothing to do with stimulus packages. New competitors, falling AUD have caused this.

Cheapest I have ever seen to New York. Shame the exchange rate isn't a little better.
Also from MEL with that price … I am thinking they are going to start giving away the tickets soon!
