Hitachi Touro Desk Pro USB3 4TB 7200RPM External Hard Drive - $219.00 + Shipping @ CPL

40

This is currently the cheapest way to get a 4TB hard drive for a PC, storage server or a NAS…etc. It's far cheaper than any Hitachi 7200rpm 4TB internal drive.

It will have to be removed from its external enclosure, which is done here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=morhgz2OU_g

It is also available at mwave, PC case gear, Umart…etc. http://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=hitachi+4tb&spo…

It's not a sale, but I think it's a bargain given how many people are in the market for 4TB internal drives.

    Really?

… and then there's this and this

    • 5900 RPM :P

I've got a few of the 4TB seagate 5900's, run nice and cool and happily blast along at 140MB/s sustained for local transfers which is more than a standard gigabit network can deliver so in a NAS there's certainly no problem.

You also said "cheapest way to get a 4TB hard drive for a PC", not "cheapest way to get a 7200rpm 4TB hard drive for a PC".

Seagate 4TB bare drive is $195 @ MSY, so not really a bargain.

To be fair, isn't that 5900 RPM?
