Investment Banker, Credit Suisse, New York & San Francisco

As I think, experiences go beyond the qualifications for something like excel, if he knows the basics of finance, commerce & accounting.

      Good to watch first story of Steve Jobs :);
Steve Jobs convocation speech at Stanford University

    • Yep,

The iPhone sucks because it's designed by someone without an Industrial design degree.

      • -2

And I'm sure education is waste of time too. About Apple, they designed the iPhone - with the cumulative efforts of potentially hundreds (if not thousands) of their staff. And those staff members would have had relevant qualifications - including industrial degrees. Steve Jobs is purported to have come up with the idea.

Perhaps we should all send our kids to schools employing teachers with experience and no relevant qualifications? Hey, why not create a new type of university full of lecturers who have no relevant qualifications either - but lots of experience?

For most fields, the education provides the foundation for the experience - and finance is one of them.

The reality is that you will never be able to call yourself an expert in your field (unless you are a highly regarded exception) of which the trainer of this 'Business Finance' course is clearly not. To that extent, this course is effectively being taught by a nobody.

Anyone who disagrees probably does not have a tertiary education, and is therefore unable to appreciate its importance.

        • I thought that was what most universities did with lecturers: lots of (academic) experience but not qualification in teaching…

        • +1

You do realise that a large portion of investment bankers, or even financial experts have never graduated with a degree in finance or business. Quite a few, albeit not all, come from engineering computer science and highly mathematical backgrounds. They are still considered experts.

        • JeBs is one of these people that thinks qualifications are the barometer of someone's ability so someone with a degree and no experience or who is terrible at their chosen profession is better to him than someone with no qualifications but a lot of experience and ability. Obviously.

  • The 3rd course is sold out :/

Basics of Business Finance sold out

    • Missed it.. :(

Too many gullible people. The trainer of this course has no verifiable qualifications or experience. I feel sorry for anyone that wastes their time filling out the registration form, let alone watching the videos.

      • i comment that one of the courses has sold out = i'm gullible. yeah if you say so, mate.

        • You're not gullible but you're stupid. He was saying that it's sold out because gullible people have already signed up for it.

        • +1

You're not gullible but you're stupid.

          well then, that's a relief!
pity you were late to the party and couldn't tell me sooner

      • I feel sorry for anyone that makes a judgement on course material without looking at it.

  • 1st course sold out

  • Thanks a lot WNK

Whats with all the courses and ebooks constantly being up here, can we get some good deals?!

    • So why did you vote negative?

      • -1

Why did I vote negative? Because it's a crap deal, if you honestly think these stupid courses are going to help you get a job your kidding yourself.

        • I'm not seeing how free is a crap deal for learning something on a topic that's interesting to whoever decides to take it.

    • If you don't want to see Udemy deals in the future, hit the Hide from Listing link.

      • I want to see Amazon deals, but my god I am sick of seeing crappy ebooks deal on the front page. Solution?

        • It's best to comment in perhaps this thread or start another one. Filtering out Kindle ebooks is being discussed.

  • Number 3 looks quite interesting.

    Thanks for sharing

    Expired all off

    • Outline Your Whodunit Mystery Novel with code REDDIT still works.

      • Started taking it and I really like it! Thank you

Thank God. This course is far worse than it initially appears. If you're willing to complete a course being instructed by a complete nobody (has anyone verified the instructor's qualifications or experience?) maybe I should go down to my local Centrelink office and find someone willing to be an actor for me too.

Your have been continuously negginng one course even without going through it. There were two other courses with your required qualifications.
        Eg:
Build an instant update database interface with jQuery/AJAX by Dr. Richard Stibbard

Dr. Richard Stibbard have been working professionally in web development since 2006, building custom database-driven websites from scratch, as well as customizing Moodle sites. Before that, I was a lecturer at a major British university where I specialized in distance education through online learning platforms WebCT Vista and Moodle.

I posted udemy courses since there are too many people who enjoy these courses.
If you don't want to see udemy deals, please hide from your profile.
