[FREIGHT FORWARDER] Lenovo Y410p 14" Notebook $749 Delivered. i7 2.4GHz, 8GB, 1TB

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Although Lenovo probably left a bad taste in some people's mouths, I will post anyway. I was one of those that purchased, and got my money back, but I am not harbouring any hard feelings.

I am looking at laptops around this price range, and this seems significantly better than anything else around this price.

Only thing is: you can't customise it. Guessing it's a stock run out, that's why.

That resolution makes me cry ;(

For the specs, I would buy if I needed a laptop.

US SITE, not available to AU unless you use a freight forwarder. OP please amend title and include [Freight forwarder] or similar

Noooo - still too early for forgiveness

  • But overall still a decent price, 4th gen i7, dedicate graphic card, 8G ram and 1T HDD. Plus I put the screen size 13">14">>15".

  • In b4 order cancelled.

Isn't this the American site or is it just my browser?

    • You are right. I was wondering since when lenovo starts to sell Y series in OZ.

      • I've got the Y570 and purchased from an Aussie retailer.

        • I bet it was not from official lenovo au.

        • Full support from Lenovo Australia, Australian power pack, factory sealed and the packaging had Lenovo Australia written on it somewhere, came with full English manuals and Australian contact details.

Edit: Search Y570 on OB and results will come up with Scotty posting a 25% off deal for one on the Australian Lenovo page.

Excellent price. This would make a great laptop that is connected to a larger screen as it has the guts to replace most desktops.

EDIT: As above, looks like US pricing.

it has the guts to replace most desktops.

      Not with a 5400 RPM drive…

      • +1

The areal density is significantly higher as 1TB 2.5 disks have fewer platters which makes 7200rpm less of an non-issue. Check out some benchmarks if you think otherwise.

    • Laptops currently don't have anywhere near the power to replace desktops.

I would never buy a Lienovo even if they were the last laptop left on Earth…

    • R u serious jv? I will stick to my ozb spirit and only count on the value/price

      • No, I put Lienovo almost as low as Mwave…

I do not buy from stores that deliberately lie to their customers…

mistake==lie?? You never made a mistake?

        • Rename to liev?

        • You never made a mistake?

I'm not talking about the mistake itself, I'm talking about the lies in the emails they sent me saying that I asked to cancel the order…

        • Possibly a mistake? (the email they sent)

        • Its not a mistake when their online staff verify and said the deal was real. How come that is a mistake? It is a lie!!!

        • I would say a lie is when you knowingly give the incorrect information.

Of course, I cannot prove that the online staff did not know this was incorrect information, just like you can't prove that they did know. But I see one situation being far more likely than the other. But, I guess that's just my opinion…

  • damn it. i know i shoulda wait

bought last year model qosmio instead for over 1k :(

"No, I cannot forgive. No… not the killing of OzBargainers' hopes and dreams. I will follow you. LAMEVO, I will get you!"

  • Great price for Haswell i7 laptop with good dedicated graphics and 8G RAM…

5400rpm HDD however kills it for me.

Fantastic Design though, usually I find lenovo ugly as hell, but this has nice gaming aesthetics.

Oh yeah… duurrrr is the US website. scrap the deal

  • +1

    It's the US website ?!?!?!

    T&Cs mention this…
Limits: Limit 5 per customer. Offers valid from Lenovo in the US only.

You would hope there are no problems with your purchase - it's hard enough to deal with them in Australia - imagine the "fun" of dealing with another continent :p

    • Still a nice price using shipto/myus, not as good though considering the freight and exchange rate.

  • This is US website

  • UGH. Sorry guys, did not realise US website. facepalm

Doing this on my work laptop. At work = US server. Default all websites to US.

  • Do you guys still think it's worth buying through a mail forwarder?

    • I do, major downsides are no SSD which is gonna slow it down a bit… also not FHD screen, which is a deal breaker for some.. Also be aware it will have a US plug, so you'll need an adaptor… And be aware that warranty may be problematic if you need to send it back for repairs.

But very decent price for an i7 Haswell laptop with 8gb RAM and a decent gaming GPU with gaming aesthetic design, IMO.

      • if this is a thinkpad, all of them come with international warranty. but electrical cord would be an issue.

        • +1

          Y-series = IdeaPad, which is not ThinkPad…

          How much would forwarding cost?

        • I'd assume no more than $100? Do you still think it's worth it?

  • I'm still waiting for a refund on one of the Lameovo laptops I paid for… they are acting like they don't know what order I'm talking about…

    • How did you pay?

  • I bought a Y580 from America with Price USA as the mail forwarder. Smooth transaction and the laptop runs even smoother and has a crisp 1080p screen. The shipping was like $150 including return warranty shipping coverage.
