Might want to make it clear in the title that this is for iOS.

    • Thank-you! :)

Great app. One of the best scanner apps - auto straightens and corrects distortion when scanning at angle. Has replaced my full scanner for most documents.

It's a must get app especially if free.

    • Yep agree - I paid for it a while ago - full price as I needed it for work at the time when I was out of the office. Since then a few more similar apps have come on the scene, but still use this one.

  • Been waiting for this for ages to get free. I think reaadle is bringing a newer app of Scanner App and making this free. Anyway, great app

  • Wth. Bought it before and now they want me to pay again for new apps ??

I only bought calendars 5 because they were on sale last time.

  • I have an ipad mini, how do I make it scan things?

    • iPhone/iPad with a camera and preferably good lighting lol.

  • Ok, so put a paper on (?) on …. sorry newby here

    And, what does iOS mean?

    • The operating system apple uses for ipads, iphones, mac books etc.

      • mac books etc.

iOS is only for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch (Apple TV also runs a variant). Apple's laptop and desktop computers run OS X.

    • iOS is the Apple operating system for phones/tablets it means that this app is for the Apple products of that type.

Put the piece of paper that you want to "scan" on a table (preferably non-glass or non-white, then open the app and take a picture of the paper as you normally would, making sure that the camera is able to view all edges and sides of the paper - then finish off the "scan" with the in-app options.

  • Can someone explain the difference between using this app as opposed to using the inbuilt camera app on a 4s?

    • +1

It'll actually make the "picture" taken look like a scanned document, black and white with all sides cropped into perfect ratio.

Yes, why not just photograph a paper … doesn't that work?

    • Trust me, it's different.

    • No it doesn't. It makes a huge difference while printing and viewing.

  • Great! Thanks!

I've been using Tiny Scan for ages, which comes up for free every now and then, but I'm keen to see how this compares given I like most of the stuff from Readdle.

    • I really like Tiny Scan! … I think I like Tiny Scan even better than this scanner by Readdle to be honest..

      • yeah, Tiny Scan has been great.
Will give this ago though, but really have no reason to change.

  • Probably never use it, but grabbed it anyway. Thanks :)

  • Great, managed to download it, tested it and all real good. Tried to email them to myself and the ipad says my email address was rejected by the server as I wanted to send them to the desk top. Now what is the problem?

    • Send a test email to yourself without any images attached. Does that work?
Are you using a free email address like Gmail or Live?

      • No, not a free email, and when I try to send to myself - no attachment, it still won't go. Any ideas or do I have to make another trip to Apple store.

        • Have you actually set up and configured the ipad to send email yet?

if not, just google, 'email setup' 'your internet provider' (ie: bigpond, aanet etc)and your email setting should be revealed.

        • How is your Ipad connected to the internet? It probably wont work if you're connecting through a different ISP (say if you're using 3G or a different wifi network. My email is through optus and my phone is through telstra, if I try to send an email from my phone it wont work if I am using the Telstra 3G connection, I need to make sure I am connected to my Optus connectio via wifi.
Your email provider might have a webmail service which will work.

        • Had to go to Apple to sort out, and there was a prob, need to go back to Apple to get it reloaded (for about the 4th time) today now that I have the correct email password. When tested in the store the emails came through OK.

          Anyway, thanks OP.

  • Thanks OP

  • TOP-Thanks OP

  • Trying to link this to my Dropbox account, and it asks for permission to access ALL of my Dropbox files. Is this normal? I thought apps usually create their own folder and only need access to that. For now I've declined the access.

    • +1

It's pretty normal for work/document apps like these - it's so you can save the file in any folder you have on Dropbox eg. Tax, receipts, letters - so that it's more convenient to be honest, rather than bunching them all up uncategorised in a general or miscallaneous "Scans" folder.

      • Roger that. Mustn't have noticed it with other apps before.
