Qantas Frequent Flyer - Join for Free through Woolworths Everyday Rewards. Save $82.50
This was posted 460 days ago, and might be an out-dated deal
Join Woolworths Everyday Rewards Program and then you can join Qantas Frequent Flyer program without the joining fee through Everyday Rewards. Joining Woolworths Everyday Rewards is pretty simple., pickup a card from Woolworths/Safeway and register at store for free. You can then create an Online account and from there apply for QFF membership. You can save $82.50. Also earn 1 QFF point for every $1 spend over $30 at Woolworths, when you spend more than $30 in a single transaction (from 22-June)
I thought this was to be released 1 July but 1 June is good, too.
“…Link your Everyday Rewards card to your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership when you register, or login to My Account.
If you’re not a Qantas Frequent Flyer, join now through Everyday Rewards and pay NO joining fee – save $82.50!”
FYI there is discussion on the details at www.frequentflyer.com.au forum by a couple of Woolies people, if you’re interested. (Not my website, just a happy user).
Bottom line, it’s a good deal for those already in QFF or people who need a few extra miles. 30-50 miles (for $60-110 total purchase per shopping trip) is a little bonus. Not earth shattering but you might as well get them if you shop at Woolies.
Free QFF via this offer is good, if you don’t already have membership. Anyone ex- OZ/NZ had it free already, but it’s an opportunity for you to get your family members to join - then transfer the miles across to you, annually. :)
I think it’s a stuff up. Firstly, the QFF PIN you’re given is the same as your 7 digit account number. This is impossible as a PIN can only be 4 digits with Frequent Flyer.
Secondly, the email I got from Qantas says
Thank you for becoming a Qantas Frequent Flyer member. You now have a world of rewards to look forward to. Even though you’re just starting out, it’s easy for you to earn points every day >so you can reach the rewards you want quickly.
All you need to get started is
YOUR FREQUENT FLYER MEMBERSHIP NUMBER: 6480791
(There is text missing, which would suggest they aren’t ready yet)
Great Deal! I was able to log in and join the QFF program via the Everyday Rewards site. I received an email with my new QFF account number and a temporary PIN. But the temporary PIN is just the same number as my account number and the website only accepts PIN’s that are 4 digits long? confused?
Edit: All good now, just went to QFF site and clicked “Forgot PIN” and received a new temp PIN via email
I was able to link my card at Everyday Rewards (I am already a QFF memebr). Not sure, whether they are swamped.
“Qantas Frequent Flyer Thank you, your Everyday Rewards and Qantas Frequent Flyer cards have been linked. Soon you will be able to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points simply by using your Everyday Rewards card every time you shop at Woolworths and Safeway Supermarkets (excluding Tasmania). Click below to go back to My Account”
Ditto on the temporary pin fix. Other than that - great freakin deal
“You can save $82.50 and earn 1 QFF point for every $1 spend at Woolworths, when you spend more than $30 in a single transaction”
I think it’s only half a QFF point per $1 spent, and I think it’s only on the $ value over $30 i.e. $40 = 5 points.
The free QFF membership is the bargain though - and a good one too!
I am having trouble getting the page which mentioned that it is 1 point for $1 spent and the date (Now that I linked my card already, it is taking me directly to the page where it says about my point history, which is currently 0). This deal starts either on 1-June or 1-July.
Crap! Something wrong with everydayrewards site as I just registered & received their Welcome email but couldn’t able to log in so I tried to use their Forgotten your username link, entered my registered email adress but come up with the error Sorry we don’t recognise this address.
…But have no problem log in QFF site.
You will only earn QFF points above the $30 (1 point for every dollar spent above $30) spent at woolies.
Now, that’s not very helpful in gathering points, as I marginally go over $30 spend just to get my vouchers.
Any other ways of getting QFF points other than woolies, the everydaymoney credit card, for example?
The amount of QFF points required for a free one way trip, say Melbourne to Gold Coast is 15,000 pts. Wonder how long you will need to use your card to get them.
I linked my EXISTING Qantas Frequent Flyer Number to my Woolworths card.
When will Woolworths finally allow you to earn QFF points?
June 22 looks like the date according to Sky News http://www.skynews.com.au/business/article.aspx?id=337731
Everyone will get a member pack in the mail, the process will be treated the same if you paid the $82.50 fine..
Although half the time its cheaper to just fly a LCC than take 2 years to rake up points..
If anyone’s interested, here’s a quick tutorial of how to earn 12k miles from shopping and buying petrol with a WER card:
http://www.frequentflyer.com.au/community/242135-225-post.ht...
(…plus some funny promises of people to only do one massive shop per month, milk etc aside, to maximise miles!)
Anyone interested in geting miles and points, should read the appropriate forums and modify their purchasing, to take advantage of a lot of frequent flyer bonuses… all possible on QFF, but you need to study up to accumulate, then book flights, through QFF! :)
There’s no way anyone’s going to get anything meaningful from QFF if they only get QFF miles from their $30+ shopping trips.
Get $1 for every $1 spent on Amex or on a gold/plat credit card, 1000 per Qantas flight, 1000-2000 per Hertz/Avis/Budget car rental, plus some odd sounding vendors (LJ Hooker, some car dealers) and you might start to make enough miles for it to be worthwhile.
Check the forum I linked above to find out the real name of the game: status miles toward QFF Plat (aka WP) and access to the QF F lounges on international flights. :)

Good deal.. I joined when I had to transfer about 3000 or 4000 Award points from my CBA acct to get free membership, so this is a much better deal.
