PHILIPS SHL3000 Headphones $10 @ Coles [VIC]

70

These headphones seem to have pretty good reviews from the OzBargain community from previous deals:
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/122355

The advertisement says: Advertised price applies at Victorian stores, Albury, Lavington and Deniliquin. Can anyone confirm this is in fact nation-wide?

At $10 it seems to be the best price historically (an OzBargain saving of 43c compared to the previous deal!)

  • How much do Coles normally sell these for?

I'd stay clear of these. Even though Philips makes some of the best budget headphones on the market, these are nowhere near their finest hour.

The cups are big enough for a newborn fetus's ears but not an adult's, the sound quality is terrible, tinny and distorted and the headband is way too small. They're also made of really cheap, creaky plastic and headband presses on the top of your head too tightly.

The SHP3000s are much better buys.

    • But SHP3000s cost at least $50 even when you got the best deal.

Yeah, good points. You are comparing Apples with Fuji Apples here.

      • These things RRP somewhere around the 20-30 dollar mark; this is a pretty unusual price for them and store-specific.

The SHP3000s have been as low $20. That's what I picked them up for at DSE last year. EBay has SHP2000/2500s, which are also fine headphones for around $20 as well.

  • I saw these for $15 in Sydney Coles today (I think the same model, but flouro orange), so Vic only deal I reckon.
