I've been looking for a good deal on a large icebox and this one is pretty good.

100L - Chilly Chest (one of the more premium brands offered by Techni-ice.

• Superior Ice retention- thicker walls, base and lid with better insulation- keeps ice frozen longer
• Superior design features- recessed latches, handles- strength and less chance of breakage or scratching
• Marine Grade Stainless Steel Latches- safe for ocean lovers and outdoor use
• Plastic Welded Hinges- superior to pop riveted or screwed hinges
• White Skids- minimizing wear on the base of the ice box and less likely to mark surfaces
• 7 years manufacturers warranty- peace of mind that you have a quality product that will last
• Commercial Refrigeration Grade Seal- better insulation and longer ice retention- keep your load chilli!
• Large Threaded Bung Drain- 'lowest point' drainage & the ability to connect a garden hose or tap
• Built to last- built tough with superior materials- this is the best of ice boxes with great performance

Normally $259 + $40 delivery (I'm not counting their RRP of $479 as I don't think they ever sell at that price.

Anyway, on their eBay store they offer it for $215 with free delivery (but without the Dry ice packs) : http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ICE-BOX-ESKY-COOLER-CHILLY-CHEST-…

Via their chat, I got them to match the eBay price but include the 6 Dry Ice Packs and Delivery for $215.

I already have my Hangryman eskie, so i don't need this unfortunately :)

The product is a icebox. Different to an esky. It's an Australian company and product so the language is Australian. Just because you haven't heard of it doesn't make it wrong.

It's an esky by another name but I don't blame any seller for trying to differentiate their products. I've got the Signature series Techniice "icebox" (great product) and no-one, I say no-one, ever refers to it as anything other than an esky.

      • Esky is a brand name (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esky)
Slack Aussies just name items by brand names - Just like roller blades: they are actually called inline skates or hoovering the carpet for example. It IS an icebox. I have a Sig series 85 l8tr also, and it's amazing. Just don't get the crappy white 'blank' gel packs. All mine failed, and got techniice to replace with genuine techni ones. Great customer service.

No kidding. Given you've had to look up the word in wikipedia I'm guessing you were born well after the word Esky was well and truly adopted into the Aussie vernacular as any large container to help keep food cold outdoors. When you take your "icebox" camping have a listen to what people call it without prompting. Friends have a variety of iceboxes but I've never heard any of them refer to them as anything other than eskies. Fishermen and workers call these iceboxes but most of us use the good old ausie standard and amen to that.

  • A mate has the smaller 80 litre Techni-ice cooler and I'm impressed…it keeps ice for about 5 days no problems..much better than my cheap Willow esky from Coles!
