  • Isn't this the same as http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/13352? I grabbed tickets to Japan when it was first announced, great prices ;)

    • +1

Same prices, new deal (extended, slightly different travel dates).

  • Great prices, but I've already booked last time

    :)

  • Careful now..they will reroute you, change the times, maybe even cancel your service. Most likely they will put you via cairns. I would mabye get some travel insurance to be on the safe side. Why are they changing them? Cause Jetstar are failing on this route, and you might even get a couple rows to yourself! Starclass is always empty.

    • Really Skystar? Has it happened before mate?

      • I travelled to Tokyo on Jetstar a couple of months back.
Trip there was fine. Trip back was a nightmare.

Instead of flying us directly back to Australia, they re-routed us to Osaka first to pick up passengers there. Because they picked up passengers there the plane was full and they had to split up my wife and I so we had to sit apart.

The re-routing and the re-boarding in osaka also delayed us by 5 hours. Luckily we had no connecting flights in Aus.

Next time i'll just pay extra couple of hundred for a better airline.

        • Return flight from melbourne to tokyo with quantas economy was around 2200 aud back in september 08. So I'd say a 5 hour delay isn't too bad. Prices might be a fair bit different now though.

  • What's a reasonable price to pay for the return flight…Osaka -> Gold Coast?

    • There is no straight answer to this. Check price on lastminute.com.au. New true 'budget' airlines are defining the reasonable 'price' these days!

  • I'm going next Monday, flying out of GC to Tokyo, fingers crossed with the deal they've been running the plane will be quite full so we won't have any of that re-routing bs that people have experienced!

  • Flew with Jetstar from GC to Tokyo and back and everything was fine. Maximum 15 minute delay leaving Tokyo. I recommend upgrading to Starclass for the trip back (if they have spare seats), should only cost $250 to upgrade which also get you in to the Qantas lounge.
