  • Are they locked to Vodaphone?

    • Yes

  • Can anyone confirm if this is all stores? And that the sale is on now? I haven't seen any signs.

  • How much they charge to unlock if u know by any chance??

    • $75 if you want to unlock it out of box or $25 if you have used it for several months.

  • $100 after 3 months. Jailbreak it.

  • is HTC Desire 310 dual sim?

    • Yes. The screen quality/resolution, the ear speaker and design is atrocious. Another HTC dud

i been to my local Kmart they have no idea about any 50% sale non existence. so it is probably local to OP.

Called in to Greensborough store tonight on way home. I asked about the sale and the girl looked at me like I was crazy. She rang someone and they had no idea. I asked her to scan a phone and it came up full price.

She asked me which store had the 50% off and of course I couldn't tell her since the OP hasn't shared that info.

IT is the local store in Moe, 3825 and there is also a Vodafone sign which says that all phones are half price. I will try to upload a photo of that tomorrow

The Desire 310 is even on the photo with a price tag of 74.95

    • Thanks mate, will wait for the photo to be upload.

  • +1

Show us the pic, as there would be codes on the ticket for system to get the discount.

  • No deal at my local…

  • +1

Seems Moe is the place for cheap Vodafone phones. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/126428

The OP didn't say they were marked as clearance so I'm assuming this is a 'proper sale'. But it seems odd that one store would have a Vodafone sign showing 50% off and others don't.

So will other stores price match something like this?

    • Great - thanks.

I just spoke to Kmart customer service and apparently this will be a promotion in all stores - but it isn't supposed to start until the 29th May. The promotion will run until 24th June.

Moe actually weren't supposed to start selling at half price yet.

    • +1

Everything is a bit (strange) different in Moe

      • +1

Maybe so. But they have cheap phones.

      • +2

Moe kmart staff read 29th May as the 19th.

  • No they didnt. The last photo clearly says "until MAY 29th. Only at Kmart". (check the catalogue titled "our full range is half price)

So, as dosada says - Everything is a bit (strange) different in Moe.

    • Yes it does! Very strange.

Another photo says offer ends 26.04.14.

I hope the customer service person gave me the right information.

Hi everyone the sale is already on, I have been three stores in Brisbane they pretty much out of Stock already only Samsung pocket neo left. Even I checked with head office they said same thing starts on 29th may. But kmart already started. So looks very strange.

    • 2 kmart stores I have been to know nothing about the sale (Greensborough and Northland). The phone I want doesn't seem to be available at any of my local stores which is disappointing - it would have been a good bargain.

Has started here in Newcastle … know for sure it has at 4 local k-marts.
Voda rep apparently sets up the displays with the reduced prices at each store.
      Stock due early next week.
Very odd starting a big sale like this with no stock on hand… but that would be Voda for you??

      • +3

So they must be starting the sale once the rep sets up. Seems to me that any store can start at any time.

      • The display had the same promo signs that Dosada has posted above.

I called 3 kmart around my place yesterday. none of staff in audio-vision knows about this special. it is really strange indeed.

    • I took pics into kmart at Logan hyperdome in Brisbane and they never heard of any such sale but the manager said its up to individual stores if they want to participate or not. Rang Logan central and they never heard of it.

  • We rang Plenty Valley (Sth Morang) last night and they knew nothing about it. Popped in this afternoon and the sale was up and running - but not much stock.

We rang another store just now and they have stock of the phone we want but they haven't started the sale. The girl said she had a catalogue that mentioned the sale but they would not be selling anything at the reduced price until Thursday. She said the other stores should not be selling them yet. Refused to price match and refused to put the phone on hold.

It's really frustrating because people say one thing but it seems as soon as that display goes up they will start the sale. So this girl was saying they definitely will not be selling them at half price until Thursday - but I think they will start the sale before then - but when?

  • Just at kmart baronial in vic.
It's not advertised but I asked them to scan and the Sony xperia m came up half price

    • They have 4 left, nothing else.

  • +1

    thanks, OP.
selling starts in SYD. bought a Huawei G526. cost me $89.5. ($10 dearer than VIC)

    • +1

Moe seems to be the only store (so far) selling it for $79.50. The other stores I have seen it advertised at are selling it for $89.50.

    Received the following;

    http://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/23543/22935/20140525_18…

Cheapest I've seen the G526!! Shame we can't bump this deal back to the front page!

    • They are absolutely awesome prices.
      Where is that page from?

      • +1

KMart catalogue - VIC. Tried to find it online, but nothing. :(

  • +1

Its in the current K Mart catalogue online… http://www.kmart.com.au/catalogue#view=catalogue2&saleId=648…

Now…. the question is will anyone get stock or is this just another Vodafail??

    • +1

Oh now it's online… Good find though! Going to hit up the locals and see what I find.

Hoping for another G526, and hoping again that it's old stock = free Voda unlock!

      • +2

How to know if it's old stock, or the newer?

        • Yeh ryang as ozhunter68 says? How ?

        • +1

Dust on the box ?? No idea guys, sorry.

Going to buy one - if I can find stock!! - and if it's not a free unlock I'll happily pay bagman to unlock it. :)

  • Just wandering if I will be able to use it with Lebara mobile, as they use the Vodafone network. Anyone tried ?

    • +1

Phones are usually just locked to the provider, so it should work!

  • Unlock codes can be bought on eBay for less than $4.50, and sale is on already, just no stock around so got a price match instead from the competition.

Must be new stock, no freebee unlock on VF, so will get code on eBay.

    Thanks OP.

    • Which company did the price match?

  • A small number of all models in stock at Burwood (VIC) - just got a G526.

  • Discussion is also on latest OzB bargain post for this special…
