Help stuck in an apartment

Well this is awkward. MODS please feel free to move it to off topic if you wish.( I copy and pasted this from a site I tried to get help from )

Hi guys. I am hoping someone can help me.
I am stuck in my apartment . I tried to lock the door and turned half a turn (door is now looked ) but the key is stuck! !!

This is a safe lock key.
I am screwed? I will call a locksmith tomorrow. But are there alternative s? I believe getting it open is almost impossible as its a safe lock door especially with the key stuck inside.

I have tried lubricating the keyhole but to bo avail and worry if I force it too hard the key will break.

Help is appreciated

    I dont really have food but I will manage. I am actually Australian. But I am currently on vacation in Bosnia. Long story short I rented an apartment for a few days. Tonight when I came home I locked the main door before bed. Managed to turn it half a circle ( door locked) but it jammed and refused to move either way (to lock / unlock.)

    What meant by a safe lock is that the actual key looks like one ( a safe lock as per google images) and the door is some sort of serious security door a metal sheet sandwiched in between the door I presume with horizontal metal bars.

    Im not usually one to panic and have contacted the owner.
    He will be here in the morning tomorrow with a lock Smith.
    But given the type of lock and door. Does anyone know how easy it would be to unlock from the outside (key is stuck in the keyhole inside ).

    EDIT: The lock set model is called a mottura lock for armored door. But I am unsure of the actual model number.

      Umm yeah i would call 000… id call that an emergency, chances are you will probably have your door broken… or try take the door screw off

      good lord, u turned to the forum fellas, while overseas in Bosnia, via internet!
      look outside the window and hop out, or ask someone to assist open the door (if anyone does understand english).
      Do let us know of what u did, when you are finally 'unlocked'!

      Sage, while I am fairly sure that the OP is NOT suggesting that people lock themselves in their apartments to save on food, there may be - hundreds, thousands - of other Bosnian OzBargainers online - also maybe locked in their apartments - and those BozBargainers may well be able to recommend a cheap locksmith…

      Cheap locksmiths. They exist, right?

    It's actually not hard to dismantle a door, i've done it myself. Find the screws on the inside (usually behind a blank) and just unscrew each part bit by bit.

        had to do it during FiFo. work colleague slid a screwdriver under the door, and i pulled it apart.

        To be fair, it wasn't deadbolted, just the bolt hadn't been set properly, and even in the "unlocked" position, it was still sticking into the strike plate

        It's an apartment. Wouldn't work if the window is not at street level. In which case, I would probably look at getting food delivered by a quad copter drone.

    I'm curious to what happened! OP any updates?

    In all seriousness though this would warrant calling emergency services or at least talking to the police… What if there was a fire? The downside is that the landlords door would probbaly need replacing if the emergency services had to break in, the upside is that the OP could get out and grab some food.

    I'm guessing the landlord has a spare key.

    It is interestring this same topic was closed because it was thought the OP was trolling…?

    Hello. Just an update. Im fine. Sorry for the late reply I had to drive back to Croatia and then catch a plane back to France.

    I didn't get video proof of the locksmith breaking the door down. In fact I have no idea what he did. When he arrived he used some sort of key from the outside to try unlock it. ( he spoke ZERO ENGLISH). He fiddled with the door very gently for an hour ( my guess is he tried to save the lock so as to not damage it ). While he was trying to open the door I was just watching TV however being unpatient after awhile I tried the key from the inside and it worked.

    Oh FYI I did try the emergency number, they seemed unimpressed. I don't think they knew what I was saying. However he finally said if its important call back again? (Wtf).
