DSE TV Sale. See Details, [HACK ALERT] on Multiple TV Purchases, Get in Quick

320

DSE "Spend and Score" (sorry Dick, we have different definitions of score, and a TV isn’t likely to qualify).

DSE TV Sale. spend various amounts and get different discounts

$500 get $75 off,
$1000 = $150 off,
$1500 = $225 off,
$2000 = $300 off

Discount will appear at checkout.

Plus today is free delivery friday, enjoy! Ends Monday 4th August, but today has free shipping, so I don't recommend waiting any longer than today.

Some Deals:
Panasonic 42" LED-LCD TH-42A400A $624 Delivered (seems to be about $700 plus delivery elsewhere)

HACK ALERT!

Guys, there also seems to be a price error if you add multiple TVs, for instance, adding these two TVs gives a total price of $948 (from $1248), should only be a discount of $150 ($75 per tv), but gives $300 ($150 per tv)
Panasonic 42" LED-LCD TH-42A400A
jvc 40 high definition led tv

haven't tried other combos yet, but will post as i find them.

OK these discounts seem to double by adding TVs. if you want, get in right now!!!

Spend and Score? I seriously wonder how their slogans get past quality control.
Such services should not be allowed on Ozbargain.

    • +1

I don't understand how this is being downvoted, it's clearly a joke :p

(and such services aren't allowed on ozbargain ;) )

  • Re: hack, seems to be capped at $600, so you can't like add 10 of each tv to get them all free :(

    • I'm seeing $900 discount on 4 TVs…

Haven't fully worked out how its happening. but having more than 1 TV (so long as it's a different product line), will give you 2x discount. There are some big savings to be had if you want multiple TVs

      • $1500 is the best I've done so far.

Now $2400 if I move up a price range.

        Anyone got better than this?
        Subtotal: $3,095
        Discount: -$1,500
        TOTAL: $1,595

        (5 TV's equating a 49% discount)

        Subtotal: $2,546
        Discount: -$1,200
        TOTAL $1,346

(4 TV's at 47% off isn't too bad either, who still uses 32" these days anyway?)

        Subtotal: $3,294
        Discount: -$1,800
        TOTAL $1,494

(6 TV's at 55% off if you dip into the under 400 range, still 40"+)

        • We are writing to advise that due to a promotional pricing error with the Dick Smith website, we are unable to fulfil your order.
We have cancelled your order and will be processing a full refund.

aww! but also yay! slightly richer.

  • I got a $900 discount adding these three tvs. Total RRP is $4,247, but it's showing as $3,347 after discounts.

JVC 40" High Definition LED TV LT-40N530
Panasonic 42" (106cm) Full High Definition LED TV TH-42A400A
    Samsung 60" (152cm) FHD Smart 3D LED TV UA60H7000

It's not a hack at the end of the day, its just an error on their website. I'm sure it will be fixed soon once they realised they've stuffed up.

    • will be a great deal for some if you want to group buy TVs, or you need more than one.

      Suggest people move quickly

      • I'm getting $1,200 discount on 4 TVs. haha.

  • +1

What will I do with two TVs? Anybody want to share? I am in 3000.

    • Let me know if you happen to get rid of extra TV (LED bigger than 42)

  • Im wondering if they (DSE) would really care.

  • +3

If you want Samsung 65" (165cm) Ultra High Definition 3D Smart LED TV UA65HU8500 ($4,900), you can get it down to $4,510 (total) by adding the 3 lowest priced TVs on the website. each additional TV you add provides a further discount off the total.

once you add more than 3, you still pay the same price, but effectively get each addition tv for free. i think i got up to 8 or 9 TVs for the same price of $4,510.

I'd imagine the same would work for a cheaper tv, but the limit might be slightly different.

(this is not as crazy % wise as other options…but if you actually want a specific tv, that is a cheap way to get it, without having to buy and sell unwanted TVs.)

  • +1

I'd be reluctant to try this on DS, I just see money not refunded and tv's not delivered, but I hope I'm wrong

  • Yes I got it to -$170. Free money pls

    • +6

      Which combination?

  • +2

    Yeah, Dicksmith won't honour this.

They've got a bad reputation for cancelling orders.

I'm even had some of my battery orders cancelled before

    • +2

"They've got a bad reputation for cancelling orders."

Such bad business practice not honoring orders for morons thinking they can get away with paying next to nothing because some other moron stuffed up somewhere.

      Idiot.

      • They haven't even honoured some legit orders i placed that were on big sale. No need to jump to conclusions

      • 60% off RRP isn't really next to nothing. Most of the AU retailers RRP are 10-20% higher compared with retailers RRP in Asia. 60% off RRP in AU might just be their real costs from manufacturers excluding rent & wages etc.

    • Heck with me they've got a bad reputation for even having items at the same price as advertised when I get to the store :|

But I wish people all the best for getting these bargains :D

  • +3

If it's only a few orders they might not notice and cancel but if it gets 'ozbargained' it'll get noticed and none of it will get honoured, I reckon.

    Bloody nice find though :P

    • +2

      Yeah definitely.

But judging on how things go here, theres already been like 10,000 tv orders in the last half an hour loll

  • Works on the cheaper TVs too, added four TVs under $400 each and came back with a total of $600 discount

  • But has anyone made an order yet?

    • +3

Placed one for six, awaiting cancellation email =)

      • Have you got the email yet? Interested!

        • Apparently two of them have tracking numbers. I wonder if the other four will or if Dick is trying to dick me.

        • We are writing to advise that due to a promotional pricing error with the Dick Smith website, we are unable to fulfil your order.

  • Anyone interested in Perth?

    • +2

      In Spending or Scoring?

  • +2

As with the free $10 coupon on DSE a few days back, I REALLY don't think they'll fulfil the orders but here I am holding my free power board so I'd be happy to be proven wrong again!

    • I shall be enjoying my 83.33% off google play at some point in the future, also!

    • +2

I got my free torch and USB stick from that deal yesterday.

      • +3

I got my free earphones too ;)
        thanks Dickie

  • Any reason why no discounting on the Lg 42 and 60 inch tv?

    • Proceed to checkout

      • +1

I just did and still showing no discount

        • If a TV is already on special there is no further discount. You have to add non discounted non advertised products.

  • +1

Anyone able to find the best deal on the Samsung 55" (139cm) FHD LED 3D Smart 200Hz TV UA55H7000?

Ideally less than $1998 inc delivery to Sydney (2000) as thats what JB has as their website price.

    • yeh.. im tryin to look for a better deal than $1998 too.

  • -1

    Meh, no 75" tvs…

  • Discount appears to be working as intended now, hack over!

    • Oh.. :( Had to be fast!

  • Seems to be fixed now, only thing that works is add $2000+ TV then TV for less than $300 and you get $300 off plus the second TV free :)

    • +1

      just re-tested, works fine

      • still working but don't think they would honour this…..

  • OzBargain group buy strikes again

    • maybe it was my session still applying the discount for multiple product lines. But i just bought 5 TVs for $88 each. figured it was worth a shot, i'll let you know if they're delivered

      • lmao which ones?

        • 5 of the cheapest non DSE branded ones.

Kris Kringle sorted for the next 5 years!

      • +2

fully expect to get negged by people who don't know how the discount worked.

as in, you needed to order 5 to get the discount.

  • goodluck to those that ordered with the error

  • +4

bought 7 TVs for grand total of $141 delivered. lol… unlikely they will honor

    • Even if they were to honour, its because of FEW fellow ozbargainers unfortunately they won't…

      • can't blame ozb too much for this one. you needed to order a lot of TVs for the discount to work.

  • -1

capped at $300 max discount no matter how much total you order.

  • +1

Don't think they would honour this, but can't resist and ordered 8 TVs lol……

    • lol me too… my total was $693.. I had a TV in there that didn't change the total price lol

  • +1

My thinking is that they were offering 300 disoucnt per tv for tv over 2k and when the sum is above 2k they are doing it 300 per TV as the formula thinks that you are odering above 2k, so 2.2k for 4 TVs becomes 2.2-1.2k discount……

  • All fixed now… missed out!
And I actually needed to buy multiple TV's for work. Have to be quicker next time.

    • +4

If my order is honoured, I'll likely have some spare 40-48"s.. cost price (pickup) for any ozb's!

      • Your cost price? :)

        • +1

$249 ea $1,494/6 I could scale that down for the 40s (and up for the 48s, if I have any spare)

I'll also pricematch any deals previously on ozbargain, because the DSE 48 has been $229 in the past (flash sale).

PS. you are in sydney, Melbourne here!

        • Not sure why downvoted when I could be profiting off this on ebay or gumtree? :/

        • +1

@Lukian: do not seek to understand the minds of the anonymous complainers here on OzB.

        • @ChickenTalon: "There is no TV" :3

        • @Lukian: Just dropped you a PM. :)

      • We are writing to advise that due to a promotional pricing error with the Dick Smith website, we are unable to fulfil your order.

aww! but also yay! slightly richer.

  • Just ordered 3 tvs for $777 -$450 discount. I hope they get delivered

  • Mine orders have shipped!

    • what and what time did you order?

  • Adding 55" SonyTV gives $300 each TV off instead of $150

  • +1

I just ordered for fun,and thinks 100% they will cancel it.but they ship 2 of 8 items now . :( . how can I use 9 tv in my house, already got one.

    • +1

      one for me…:), i'll pay…

    • wow, that's good. Hopefully I'll get mine honored, will be dissapointing if I posted this and endup with none myself :( But do understand DSE not wanting to ship them!

        • How much did you get them for? The dispatched ones?

        • @tonytone:

          55% off~

  • dicksmith is gonna get bankrupt :0 , I got tax invoice for 5 of 8 tv now, its showing full price.

  • Is this still working ?

  • Managed to get 63% off total but had to mix some 24" tvs to get the discount. if honoured will sell them for cheap or use as computer monitors. Thanks OP. Hope they get delivered.

    • keep one for me

  • +2

Once you chuck a tv that attracts the $300 discount, you can add one of any other tv under 300 and get it for free.

Wish I had the extra cash to play around with this, buy a big tv for 2000+ and get heaps free.

    Check this out:

    Sony 48" (122 cm) $1099 + Dick Smith 47.5" (121cm) $599 + Dick Smith 23.5" (60cm) $219 + Dick Smith 31.5" (80cm) $299 + Dick Smith 21.5" (54cm) $179

total = $1,098 plus free delivery

means discount of $1 on the sony and ALL the rest for free.

I don't have a spare $1k to buy another tv to try it out, but I'd bloody love to. Best of luck to those of you who do :P

    • +1

hahaha, if you fill it with tvs which are 300 or under you can get them for free

      http://imgur.com/3TzarZR

      • Wow this is crazy..

        Mine:

        Subtotal : $3,963.00
        Delivery : $0.00
        Discount : -$1,768.00
        Grand Total (Excl.Tax) : $1,995.45
        Tax : $199.55
        Grand Total (Incl.Tax) : $2,195.00

No delivery yet. SO i guess it doesn't really count.
