Haven't seen an inexpensive cree torch deal for a week. - a new OzBargain record ;-)

Just received similar spec us$3 banggood 3 mode torch from 29/07 deal:

Ultrafire CREE XPE Q5 7w 3 Modes Zoomable LED Flashlight, but states only 400 ChineseLM :-(
But can't imagine much difference in output with same LED & battery?

    • Just looked up my orders - I have this torch! A little brighter & whiter light than the torch I just received. Slimmer, lighter design. Bought at this price.

      • I have the same torch 3 times - from 3 different places…

      • I'd recommend it - good bright torch for the price. Bought end of last year from banggood.

Last banggood torch delivery to Brisbane took 10 days from order.

        • Weird question. Is there any difference between the ones which have Cree vs no brand name on these ? (i have one which has got no brand and has a little yellow triangle sticker near the bulb section..)

        • @smurfinaus:
          Certainly not a weird question.
Sticker is 'laser' warning to impress you, from memory. Most would be fakes, so no brand are at least honest.

Hey I just noticed you were guarding under this post!
But I can see a shadow of your band with that green lights of up votes next to their id praising this post!
Good job, 4 negs in less than a minute to remove my neg off the deal
      Ozbargain should stop these attitude
Banggood should be banned for such a behavior
      It is shameful cheating

  • Whats the differnce between these and the ultrafire ones?

    • Comparison of light output really depends on the model.
As for appearance, these are more stylish, lighter, & less military grunt than my Ultrafires.

      • i think they are the same lm's but i found this one on ebay so im just debating on which one to go for

        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/UltraFire-7W-600LM-CREE-XPE-Q5-LE…

Looks the same as last banggood torch above. That was rated at 400Lm & is not as bright as this one. Only way is try. But eBay one is dearer & chubbier than this deal. Given previous torch deal delivery time was only 10 days from order to Brisbane (delivered yesterday), I'd go for this deal.

This is my favourite torch. Bright, small and a simple on and off only mode.

I had one arrive faulty not long ago. One message to BG and they delivered a new one to me without any hassles.

  • nice torch. didn't seem any brighter than my previous ones on AA batteries.

  • Do these get hot when they've been on for a while?

    • +1

Yes. One turned on in my pocket - I could tell.

  • Seems like black is sold out? Got 2 silver ones, thanks OP. Already have one, great little torch! One AA makes it so hassle free

  • I bought 2 of the Gold coloured of these torches and they were both dead on arrival, banggood were useless didn't give me replacements. Won't be buying from banggood again.

    • -1

You do need to put batteries in them….

      • hah! yes I have 100s of batteries, None worked in them.

    • I sent them a video of the faulty device and promptly got a replacement. Although, I did add in some bonus footage of Rocky III.

  • I also bought the silver and black, they were working fine. Just the Gold didn't work, I would be interested to know if any of you guys who buy Gold will have the same problem. Be sure to post a reply when you receive them!

  • nice to see a torch without the 'assault cap' with is most effective at cutting holes in pockets and scratching mobiles - can't imagine I'll even be in a situation to shove my torch in someone to defend myself.

Also good to see this will take 14500 batteries.

  • How long does the aa battery last? An eneloop one?

    • -1

A few years, if you don't turn it on ;-)

    • No sense of humour ;-)

But for some, a valid answer - we buy eneloops for their very slow self-discharge (still retains 65% of charge at 5 years according to the packet). Eneloops are best suited to situations where you do not want the battery to flatten (like in an emergency torch). Hence my half serious answer.

But if you want long high power use like turning these torches on continuously, you are better with a higher capacity battery, but those will go flat over time (months) without even turning the torch on, so not suited for emergency light source. (There are higher capacity dearer eneloops.)

It's not that easy a question to answer, except "I don't know" and I have used this same torch with a new eneloop since January. I have only charged the battery once, to test it's brightness to give feedback for this deal! No one else offered their opinion.

If you are outdoors, it can be useful to know. Better to carry a few spare higher capacity AA.

But it depends on how you use the torch, that affects battery life. Leaving it on continuously to see how long it lasts is one measure, but will give shorter life than the usual multiple short uses. Batteries operate by chemical reaction, which differs with heat etc.

So the answer is "it depends" - on your use, state of battery, etc. I preferred my short answer ;-)

wanna get a decent 2000Lm adjustable with zoom for a couple dollar more?
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/191261669875

or you can get something better for $3.70
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/600LM-CREE-Q5-LED-Flashlight-Torc…

or a cheap version like this for $3.20?
    www.ebay.com.au/itm/NIXSUN-Mini-3Mode-Zoomable-600-Lm-CREE-X…

All AUD and don't forget 2% cashback!

    • You read the descriptions?

      FIRST torch
      1 x 18650 3.7v or 3 AAA batteries
      LED: CREE XM-L T6
      Max output: 2000 Lumens
      Power: 7W
      3-mode
      Output seems unlikely.

you can get something better for $3.70

      SECOND torch
      Chunky 3cm diameter (11.5 x 3 x 3cm),
      3 AAA batteries,
      three mode,

      THIRD torch
      Bright 600 luminous;

Basically the same as last Banggod deal, at same price.

      don't forget 2% cashback!

      6c on a $3 torch!!
      Not worth the effort.

Why don't you buy & tell us?
Or are you selling? Sounds like a sales pitch.

        Oooops
        Cool down mate,
If you wanna be fair let people see other deals too, you can't just post yours and shut others mouth
I posted 3 random deals from high ranked stores on ebay, these are from 3 different countries which all post from china I guess. How may I be any of those sellers?
Whenever I post or comment something its just to stop smart sellers fooling people and make high profit into some Chinese guy pocket out of Australians hard worked money.
But I see you lost the plot, this is the smell of that pitch you asked!
Associated with banggood? What is your role here? Dont like these deals, Move on.
All these torches far better than the one posted and the price is always cheaper than this , now I have to trigger the neg, lets see if I start getting enough negs from your team to remove my neg :)
Next time come back with a real deal!

        • +1

Gee, I had a good night's sleep & missed the fun.

Like all OzBargainers, you are free to post your eBay finds as their own deals.

But the advantages of the torch in this deal are
          * it is a proven good torch (I have one & recommend it as others do),
          * it is small, slim, stylish, lighter & brighter than Ultrafires I use (similar to your third torch),
          * light output is proven through use to be quite strong in this torch with a single AA battery. Your recommendations seem to have very high light output, possibly due to use of rarer high capacity batteries, but may be inaccurate. A torch similar to your #3 is listed on banggood as 400Lm. (rated output levels are rarely accurate & often beyond manufacturers specs)
          * this torch has simple on/off, your recommendations are 3 mode - which some people dislike
          * it is more convenient - using only 1 AA battery (high capacity - important for these bright lights, most of us have plenty of rechargeables) resulting in a smaller torch,
rather than using 3 AAA batteries (more cost for 3 batteries, less common in rechargeable, much lower capacity) or a rarer battery (for most that means buying new sets of batteries & good charger - adding to the cost) used in the first & second torches you posted…

So for many, your unknown untested torches, lacking features of this torch, from unknown buyers, may be more of a risk. But your suggestions are there for those interested. They just are very different torches to this deal.

As for the ridiculous things you said against me for daring to objectively examine your recommended torches… I won't waste my time.

      • 6c on a $3 torch!!
        Not worth the effort.

Not regarding this particular torch issue but, I beg to differ.
        A. Your saving 6c (thats only a good thing)
        B. Using cashback sites takes no effort.
        C. I have 20+ cree torches, aaand i just got 2 from this deal…
        D. I'm about to look at pal's ebay links to possibly buy more.

        • It is an opinion.
Not worth the saving if the torch is inferior or dearer.
Have never got my rebates, I only use the internet on my phone. I've spent a fair effort attempting to chase up lost rebates ($75 with a bank deal).

But I'd be a little concerned by your Cree "addiction". You've only got 2 hands to hold them ;-)

        • So ozy, did you buy based on Pal's recommendations?

        • you're

        • +1

          @altomic:
          Pedant ;-)

        • +1

@brucefromaustralia: in the end, not from the ebay links.
Got told not too "waist more money on torches"
(Good advice from the Mrs, but she has lost 3 in 1 month so i dont think it will be my last)

        • @ozy:
What do you do with that many torches? I've stopped buying at 3.

        • @brucefromaustralia: mostly for fishing boat, tacklebox, glovebox, car boot, work desk, bedside, in the shed, in tool box, in backpack, in laptop bag, in bottom kitchen draw, under sink, in electricity box.
Then it repeats for my mates who love the cree effect so buy more for them!
Oh and the Mrs has one in the bag, car, at work, attached to bike, and looses them all the time lol

Edit: And yes i know they are portable, but its handy to have one everywhere, and did i mention ozbargain told me too? ;)

        • +1

          @ozy:
That's my policy - I leave one near the computer & entertainment unit - for those times I need good light to change cables etc.

Guessed some were for gifts :-)

I also have my favourite head torches for different uses… can't travel without 1, and great for hands free maintenance on car, etc

          Happy shopping ;-)

      • The reasons I did not recommend those torches are explained further above, in case you can't see them due to all the negs pal's attack attracted…

  • don't try and get anything fixed under warranty. they don't honor it. bought a helicopter of them and it broke first go.

  • Good deal at only $110 per kilo of torches.

  • I'd stay away from cheap torches from banggood. All the torches Iv bought from them have had the worst quality.
The zoomable lens was very loose on the torches and wouldn't stay and the plastic on the button was too thin and wore out very quickly.

Only positive was the shipping time was the quickest at 2 weeks.

Gearbest had a thick textured rubber button and the zoomable part sealed well and would stay where you left it.
    Both said Ultrafire btw.

  • I bought 5 toys in Jul.2014 and received in the early Aug.2014.
    Unfortunately, none of them works…:(
I tried to change different AA batteries many times, still dead.
My items seems delivered from the factory in China.
I did not sign up when purchased from Banggood, what should I do now?

  • Did anybody get an email saying they're out of stock and asking whether to hold order or refund?
Took until yesterday just to realise they didn't ship my order 10 days ago!!??

oh well, didn't really need them urgently (or at all??), guess I'll be patient.

    "Dear sir,

    Thanks for your order.
