  • Also in the same catalogue — 40GB version of PlayStation 3 console for $688. I saw the same thing in Kmart's catalogue as well but without a price. Is it one of the cheapest Blu-Ray player at the moment?

    • heard they are phasing out the 60gig version and replacing it with the 40gig version for now.

  • AWA doesn't seem reputable. They must've skimped on quality

    • You bet! 42 big inch for under 1,000 bucks, what should you expect?

I guess the idea is, it might break down after 2 years, which lets you buy your next big TV for another $1,000, which is probably going to be more advanced than your Sony plasma that you bought for $3,000 2 years ago…

  • My 40" AWA from 2 years ago hasn't skipped a beat. Neither has my 32" AIWA from Big-W last year.

  • I just got one - my samsung rear projection had a 'convergence' issue whereby it would cost $400-$500 to fix (only 4 years old - out of normal and extended purchasable warranty - original RRP $3k). Happy with the AWA - had my doubts - but the picture quality is good and clean. Had to hunt one down - most of them were sold out - last resort was in Sunbury (VIC) Big W - only had 2 in stock. Staff were saying that they were selling like hot cakes. Also they noted that AWA is only sold through Big W and within the documentation you can get Extra 2 years coverage at a cost of $220.

  • hey i was lucky enough to get one of these tv's,i put it on layby,at that price it's a bargain!even if it lasts 3 years ill be happy, cant wait to watch the sumer of cricket on it!there where only 2 left at my store.
I've got a xbox 360 as well so cant wait to play it on the 106cm:)
