430
CELEBRATE15

There is a even cheaper price for the galaxy s5 from QualityDeal. $3 cheaper than the one from DWI.

And you can be sure that it is 4G compatible in Australia as well.

So if anyone still need a Galaxy S5, forget about the DWI deal and buy from QD instead.

I would have listed this over the DWI deal yesterday but at the time i was searching on ebay, this listing was not up yet.

Also more colour available

Black
Blue
Gold

Also dual sim are also available for the same price:

    Thanks for the credit, mate…

Figured I wouldn't post it as a separate deal since it wasn't that much cheaper, but I guess I'm not playing the ozbargain game right.

thanks @paizuri5 and op, finally decided on the s5 and bought through qd-au

      • Np. OP's original deal had a dodgy description which didn't make it clear if it was actually 4G. Listed two different model names as well. Did some searching and found a better alternative (hopefully).

  • "And you can be sure that it is 4G compatible in Australia as well."
Not completely true, it doesn't support 700Mhz
    Source http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4G_Australia

      700Mhz support doesn't seem important.

      • Do you know that as technical knowledge or assuming? Seem like more and more moving to 700Mhz
        " 700 MHz[edit]

The 700 MHz band is currently used for analogue television and will become operational with 4G in December 2014.

        Optus[edit]

According to Gizmodo, Optus is accelerating the prebuild of its 700 MHz network and will switch on the network in early 2015.[4]
Optus announced trials of its 4G 700 MHz network in Darwin and Perth CBDs on July 21, 2014.[5]

        Telstra[edit]

In July 2014 Telstra announced a trial of 4G services in the 700 MHz spectrum in Perth, Fremantle, Esperance, Mildura, Mt Isa and Griffith.[6]
        "

        • Based on your wiki link, 1800 is more important.

        • Just because they are expanding to 700Mhz doesnt mean that they will stop all the other frequency band all together.

You will still be able to run off the 1800 MHz signal.

        • @highdealer:

That's true, but you also have to factor in that 700 mhz is better, you might be able to pick up 700 when you can't pick up 1800. It's always better to have more bands available on your phone than less.

        • @Ronnnie: Further to add. The 700 will definitely will be better, will give better coverage i.e. distance, the higher the frequency, the shorter the wavelength, weaker/shorter distance.

  • DUO and Single Slot what's different . It's just to get another available sim slot or any different ? sorry couldn't really figure . Thanks

    • There are two slim slot and you can run two number on the same phone at the same time.

      • thanks for the answer . So apart from that both of the phone version features are same ?

        • I have not use a dual sim samsung yet but my dual sim nokia was exactly the same as it single sim counterpart.

        • I can't speak for this particular model, but I do know that with previous Samsung versions, the dual sim equivalent was not as feature rich as the single sim variant. Things like screen res being a step down etc.

The reason tended to be that dual sim handsets are more popular in other countries, where people generally use low-mid tier phones, so they were aiming it at this market.

This may not be the case here, but double check to be sure. I hope the trend is changing as I carry two phones for work and would love to go down to a good dual sim phone. Every dual sim "smartphone" that I've looked at has been crippled in some way compared to the flagship equivalent.

One question, why are S5 and Note 4 much uglier than their predecessors?

  • I availed of this offer or at least I thought I did. I entered the code and clicked apply. It confirmed that $86 or so would be discounted. However, when I went through with the payment, $572 had gone from my account. Is there a line of enquiry I can follow or am I at the loss?

At least its still less than I was going to pay otherwise but very frustrating.

    Thanks

    • I guess you are new to ebay coupon.

      See here for clarity: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/161209#comment-2244083

      • Cheers for the reply, however there is no mention of the coupon on my receipt and the full amount has been taken from my bank

    • Chyeck your payment again. You will get a receipt for the full amount but only the discounted amount is paid by you. PS: Part of the offer is that you have to pay by PalPal. How did you pay?

      • Yes I paid by paypal and the full amount has been taken from from account. Looks like i've mucked up even though I definitely put the code in and clicked done on it

        • Looks like something somewhere when wrong. I assume not much can be done except to try and contact the seller to cancel and re-buy… but time is against you.

        • So you didn't double check the amount in PayPal before confirmed.

        • @superforever:

Turns out I made a mess of it. Im an ebay member at home but have not reregistered with ebay.com.au and it was only available to Oz members.

Silly me but funnily enough, its still about $170 than I would have got it anyway..

  • Do you get a tax invoice with the good?

    • pretty sure nope as the item is shipped from HKG.

  • Hi this is a question for people who have bought this item yesterday. Has the item been shipped yet, because I fear the typhoon in Hong Kong could impact the shipping date.

    Thanks

    • 1 has been shipped (picked up yesterday), 1 I have a DHL tracking number for but not picked up yet (hopefully today)

  • I bought one yesterday night but has not yet been marked posted

    • I purchased last night and it hasn't been shipped either.

      • This is what i Just got from them "Sorry. Please note the stock is in Hong Kong as advertised, not Taiwan. Since there is a typhoon in Hong Kong today, many flights were canclled. The shipment will be delay for one day and it should be delivered early next week" This is after in the previous message they told me that item is stocked in Taiwan and so cant be picked up in sydney. Seems a bit weird but lets see

        • Just wondering how's everyone shipments are going today. I've yet to be issued a track number.

        • @slao93: Same here. Not even marked as posted yet. I guess they got more orders than they were prepared for

        • 1 arrived yesterday. 1 with courier today :)

        • @slao93: I emailed them and got the DHL tracking number. It has just arrived in sydney

        • @lokesh7: Mine has been shipped through TOLL, however it is coming across a few issues.

Hong Kong. Undeliverable: Delayed - Linehaul Schedule
AU - Sydney. Undeliverable: Delayed - Linehaul Schedule

Hoping to get it by early next week!

For $480 even cheaper than buy it in Hong Kong.

    • Do these fail at a rate that I should be worried about warranty or if I go to Samsung shop will I still be covered

      • Samsung Australia will not cover you AFAIK
