  • What was the previous deal?

  • Would this be valid for Heston Blumenthal's restaurant next year?

    • Who?

would recommend attica instead - less than half the price for higher ranked joint

    • Can't see why not.

    • Not sure i'd want to buy 3 of these giftcards for a table of 2 at heston's … and not get a booking through the lottery system!

    • Yeah. Going to buy about $4000 worth tonight.

      • FYI, you have to do it one $300 card at a time. Was painful doing it over and over.

  • What is the expiry period of crown gift cards? Thanks in advance.

    Edit: OK, found it here

    Expires 1 year after purchase.

Hmm not a bad deal, I might take a gamble on this one

Beat me. But seriously they can be used for gambling right? Can't see why not, that is most of their profits. Everyone else seems to be wanting to use for food and accom. Then again doubt there are many OzBers that gamble.

Bloomberg TV had a good doco about a Casino Whale that gamed the system of incentives and rules and kickbacks to put the odds much more in his favor. You needed $100k though to be considered a 'whale'. They eventually caught on and changed it to make it less worthwhile for this guy. Wonder if a whale here will buy heaps of these cards and use them at the tables.

Can't use these at the tables. you can use them in some non advertised places like the Teak dining room though.

        • Thanks. Interesting, makes sense they wouldn't allow it, it's basically like free money/more advantage. Guess you could tip the staff with them if you want to be a high roller and get a bit better service from the dealer.
