Big W is having a 10% off store wide and 25% off all clothing and shoes this coming weekend.

Available in store only. Exclusions apply.

Exclusions include Apple iPads, unlocked Apple iPhones, Apple iPods, Samsung Tablets, Samsung Galaxy S5, tobacco & cigarettes cartons and packets, all Gift Cards, all Wish Gift Cards and all Woolworths Limited Gift Cards including BIG W, Woolworths, Safeway, Woolworths Petrol, Safeway Petrol, Dan Murphy’s, BWS, Cellar Masters, Essentials, Groceries Only and Masters Gift Cards.

As of Wednesday, the Ts & Cs have been updated to exclude all gift cards, not just Woolworths group gift cards. (thanks googoogaga), however you may be in luck depending on who is serving you according to today's comments.

Other Notes:

  • Family and friends need to print out this flyer and use the barcode to redeem the F&F discount.
  • The discount offer does not apply to Layby transactions.
  • No rainchecks.
  • Family and Friends cannot use their EDR card in conjunction with this offer.

          That's a good question. I remember reading that if they advertise a deal then they have to honor it otherwise it's considered false advertising. I could be wrong.

      The original flyer (the one that just says "Woolworths gift cards excluded" and linked to above under "go to deal") says "The discount offer does apply to new lay-by transactions". The updated flyer (the one that says "all gift cards excluded") now says "The discount offer does not apply to new lay-by transactions". Both say "existing lay-bys are excluded and cannot be modified".

      Definitely worth printing and presenting the old flyer (the one that doesn't say "no gift cards" and "no lay-by"). Worst that happens is that you cant convince the store to give the gift card discount or the lay-by in which case you are no worse off than you would have been if the 10% deal wasn't running at all. (I certainly will be printing the old flyer and seeing what the staff have to say)

    East garden works with wish card, just purchased 1.5k of Myers and David jones gift card without a problem, however the print out didn't scan, have to get a staff to input it manually!

    I went through self serve checkout as flyer wouldn't scan. Then it didn't apply the discount. Apparently if you scan your Everyday Rewards card it wont work. Staff had to come and manually remove my Rewards card details in order to get the discount.

    just got back from Big W and apparently they have an even newer flyer than we do that does not give any discount to laybys. This was only found out as we tried to layby some items, non exclusion, and twice the discount was not applied. Girl went and spoke to manager and came back showing the new flyer. She did however honour our one. So if you have any issues just push the 10% and you should get it.

    When to the BigW at Majura Park, ACT

    Phone recharges (telstra) was not included, stuff that were already discounted did not have an additional discount and the discount on clothes was closer to 16% (not 25%). A $6 item was discounted $1, and a $12 item was discounted $2

    Took printed flyer to BIG W south yarra, check out lady told me gift cards are not allowed. I said that my flyer didn't state it. Manager came and bought along new flyer and said the new one was sent to staff about a week ago (i called him bluff but he was adamant), Anyway he wouldn't budge and asked me to get in touch with my "aunty" (who i claim works at big w) and get the updated version of the flyer. If anyone east of melb CBD had any luck elsewhere with gc, please let me know. Cheers.

    Went to big w in Arndale SA Today. Staff refused to honor 25% off on footwear and claims everything are 10% off. I show the flyer and the lady states: it is what it is.

    Has anyone successful with getting 25% off on footwear?

      Yeah, for some reason it scans at roughly 17% off as you are scanning through the sale, then does another 10% discount off the total of the sale at the end. Thus making the total discount around 25% or very close to it

      That's how it works. So when you scan the clothes you get ~ 17% off. When You select pay you get another 10% off the entire bill. The lady near the self checkout told me this when I enquired why I wasn't getting 25% off.

    I don't know why they don't just refuse to serve those with the old flyer?

    They are under no obligation to process any sale even if it's advertised at a certain price. If they are so adamant why don't they refuse to sale?

    This is like at my work (Not BigW) where a customer has obviously placed an incorrect label onto a shelf incorrectly (was tooked into shelf not placed in the way it's meant to be) and then claimed we had to honour it. We just refused service and she had to deal with that. The cost difference was about $100 too!

      You are wrong. They have every obligation to honour an advertised price, otherwise it is considered misleading advertising and that's against the law.

        You don't have to process any sale ever. Even if it is misleading. You are under no obligation to do so. and in this case they changed the conditions prior to the sale. Most of not all were aware of the new conditions and despite that tried to break those conditions. They were under no obligation to honour the sale for the old conditions.
