Free BitDefender Total Security 2015 - 12 Month Key

870

Just found a promo for a 12 month licence key for BitDefender Total Security 2015. Basically just pop in your email address and you'll get a 6mth licence. Then the licence will be extended to a 12mth licence in Feb next year based on the email that I received. So a potential saving of $14.58 based on my staticice search.

Edit 1: Looks like the keys don't stack. So if you already using BitDefender Total Security 2015 now, your remaining days on the old keys won't be carried over if you apply the new key. And I don't know if there's any expiration period for the promo key if you don't use them straightaway.

  • So this is for a 6 month licence?

  • From what OP says, yeah it's 6 months initially.
Also, title should read Total Security not Internet Security ;)

  • I've been using these trails for the last two years lolol

Haven't needed to reinstall or anything.

    • You can't update to the new version without reinstall though. That's the dumb thing about BD.

  • Is there a direct link to download the english version pls?

    • +1

Replace "de" with "en" in the download link

  • To get English, replace "de" with "com"

Installation forces uninstall of all other anti-malware products, including Mawarebytes.

    • nice one! I'll update the link

ed: looks like link's domains are not allow to changed after posted. If a mod can help changing .de to .com, it would be greatly appreciated.

    • This is not a bad thing for inexperienced users …

  • Thanks Neil for correcting the title. And yes, it's a 6mth key which will be extended to 12mth key in Feb, as per the wording of Google Translate.

However, I'm wondering if that means the licence is extended for another 6mth starting from Feb, that means it's only around 7.5mth licence, or another 6mth on top of the original 6mth. Oh well, time will tell.

    • So we don't use the code until February to extend to 12 months?

      • but then I'm not sure if there's any expiration limit on the key, couldn't see any info in the email.

        • +1

The code is 'activated' as soon as its in your mailbox. Whether you use it or not doesn't matter.

These deals come up every 3 months so you'll basically never need another AV.

No need to wait for deals to come up.
Just run the online scanner and you will be offered 6 months free of bitdefender internet security once it is finished.

  • It's telling me the license key has expired.

    Hmmm, now it's updated.

I wonder why i did pay for Kasbersky AV ? Thanks OP

    • same. just bought last week

  • This thing installs heaps of bloatware…I went with Avira myself for this reason.

I tried this product on a few computers. Was really bloated and slowed the boot process considerably. Purchased Kaspersky licences instead and it is a much nicer to work with product.

  • bd makes internet browing very slow. I uninstalled it.

    • This happened to one of my relative's PCs, but it didn't happen to mine or his other numerous PCs. Uninstalling did fix it, so it was definitely BD but I haven't figured out why or what's causing it. Every other PC has been fine except that one.

  • Kaspersky's better but Bitdefender is free.
6 month codes are available through Windowsdeals all the time.

  • Hi, how did you guys change the language to english? I've installed it, haven't successfully registered yet but the anti-virus is functional now. Where should I go?

  • Does this come with a version for Macs?

I signed up for 3 of them, the code is not unique. Could I suggest just posting the product code next time, so we don't have to sign up and get spammed?

    • -1

      the code is not unique
How was the OP supposed to know that?

      • It never is unique for BD giveaways..

        • Then post the code . It will help other ozbargainers.

  • Don't think I've ever had an email from them

    • +1

What normally happens is they sell your email to other spammers, who you will get emails from.

      • 10minutemail.com?

      • Gee and we all thought they were in the business of writing, selling and supporting antivirus software

        • They're not selling them if you're getting it for free. How do you think they recoup the lost sale when they give away the keys? By making you provide your details and selling them.

  • Great!
