Cheap HDD for a Macbook 2006

I am trying to revive an old macbook 2006 for the family after the HDD died recently. I dont want to spend much (this is Ozbargain after all). Just wondering if anyone out there knows of a good place in Sydney or online to buy a cheapish HDD that would fit a macbook - I dont need bigger than 160GB. Restrictions seem to be that the drive cannot be higher than 9.5 mm.

any suggestions?

cheers
Dbo

Nothing special about a macbook hard drive…
Any 2.5" Hard Drive (<9.5mm) will be fine.
Personally I'd spend the extra and buy an SSD. these days, it's not like there's even much of a premium!

Some reviews of SSD's in Macbooks.

SSD is the way to go. 128GB drives are really cheap these days. You may also want to upgrade the RAM to 4GB if not already. Please let us know how it goes.
