        • @muncan: I've got all the ANZ cards + Citi + Bankwest and I've been declined for Coles Mastercard, Virgin Mastercard, NAB card & AMEX Platinum Edge

        • @edwinlin88: maybe close a few cards?

        • +1

@muncan: oh na I'm not saying I want the NAB card. Just telling people so they know that the number of cards & recent applications DOES affect the outcome of new applications

but yeh, gonna cancel the non-black ANZ cards

        • +1

          @muncan:
My credit score is 450 now! I have Balance transfer with St George, NAB & Coles, an American Express CC, 28 Degree & Citibank Signature. I have also got approved for this card (which I will cancel once I get the points..)

        • @massari: Did you just get approved for this card with your 450 rating?

        • @JohnHowardsEyebrows: I think massari is implying that their rating is 450 after applying. Mine was 595 after applying. YMMV.

        • @muncan:

          Late reply..

My rating is 450 after I have applied for 4 Credit Cards ( to take advantage of 0%, 16 Month balance transfer, 0 Annual Fee). Just so I can sit it in my mortgage :) Never paid interest, late fee etc. Just have to many cards I guess?

  • +3

just off from the phone, i got approved - maybe because i have mortgage account with them already. card is on its way. no id check or anything, just one email saying i got approved 2 days ago.
also confirmed, 40k points, no balance transfer offer, free annual for first year, no minimum spend to get 40k points, 4-6 weeks to get the points appears.

  • I am an existing NAB customer (with mortgage), approved within 60 seconds, just needed to send supporting docs off (payslip) which I did. Since then I haven't heard anything. VEDA score 733, very good… wonder why they've gone all quiet on me.

  • Received the cards now I need to go to a nab for ID check, then I ll buy something, wait my 40k points and cancel it.
I really need one with VA points though

  • Just received my cards today. Did anyone receive their letter of offer?

    • I received mine after I closed my account, for previous NAB card offer.

      • It took them that long? Generally they arrive with the cards to tell you your credit limit etc…strange.

        • got cards yesterday, offer today, pin…..in a few days, but will head into the bank to sort it out

        • Can I ask how long did it take your letter of offer to arrive? I received my cards on Tuesday, a letter yesterday saying they had processed my request for no automatic increases, but have still yet to receive the letter of offer…

        • @mooboy:

I'm in the same boat as you. The letters/cards are arriving all out of order and I'm still waiting on my Letter of Offer.

I'll give it until late next week and if nothing turns up I'll just sort it out at the bank.

        • @Moi:

I ended up calling the number on the back of the card, and found out that, apparently, the letter of offer had been sent, and that, actually, the cards were already active.

I just went in to a branch to double check and reset pins for cards and internet banking, and they've said they'll send me another letter of offer.

          Good luck!

  • so the 2 cards have been activated already when we got them?

    • Mine were activated already when I received them. I am an existing NAB customer if that makes a difference at all.

    • +11

The postie could probably make some paywave transactions without even opening the envelope…

      • Usually have to activate the card before purchases are possible. Although RFID skimming is possible but technically difficult

        • These are pre-activated cards. If NAB stacked the two cards on top of each other in the folded letter then envelope skimming would be next to impossible. But alas they're side-by-side. I've made paywave purchases through my closed wallet before, so the same could be done with an envelope. Especially at the self-service counter…

        • @muncan: the risk is on NAB anyway

  • Received the cards within 3 days of applying, given 8K limit. I've got no history with NAB and I've applied and been approved for the black ANZ, citi sig and amex plat edge within the last couple of years.

  • +1

at first when applying i thought wow i will get visa and amex in ONE card!!
but no.. 2 cards … wallet become thick now

    • +1

Visa and AMEX must have different CC numbers.

Hi, just a few few questions. Did anyone apply with a salary under that of the minimum (65k) and still get approved? Did you have to email through a lot of forms such as payslips and expenses and did anyone who applied for the recent NAB Qantas rewards card have any troubles? Thanks.

  • where can you view your qantas ff points in the NAB internet banking?

    • On the Qantas website

      • ANZ have their own monthly qff points balance on their website. Surely NAB have one too.

  • +2

just had a call from nab to say I was approved for the Qantas rewards card (not premium) with only 10,000 Qantas points - must've applied for too many cards recently :(

they said I applied for the premium card with 20,000 points. I said no, I had applied for the premium card with 40,000 points. they said the terms and conditions changed. (I applied through the link from Qantas with 40k). anyway I was only approved for the rewards card so I accepted it as 10k was better than nothing and the hit my credit rating was already done.

After the call I had a look on the link from qantas and saw that it should have been 20k for the Qantas rewards card not 10k. they called back a couple minutes later to explain the ID requirements and I explained the card on the website is offering 20k not 10k. he replied that I applied on the 21st and the terms were changed on the 19th and that this is what they were offering. I said ok I would have look back at my copy of the T&C's and call back later as I was on the train.

now looking on their website they are only offering 10k for the Qantas rewards card but if you apply from the link from Qantas it's 20k (different link to the premium card though).. not sure if I'll get anywhere arguing with them as it's not in the T&C's of the card I applied for..

anyone else offered less points than expected?

    • +1

I also applied on the 21st and was approved for the Platinum however they didn't call me until Wednesday to tell me I'd been approved and the cards were on their way, so I am yet to get them or the letter of offer. I will be ROYALLY pissed if I haven't been given the 40,000 offer.

      • +1

I think if you applied for the platinum card and are approved for the platinum card you should hopefully receive the 40k. I think since I wasn't approved for the platinum they offered me their standard 10k Qantas rewards card instead of the 20k one offered on the Qantas website.

also just checked my application date was on the 25th not the 21st so he was BSing about the date

    • +2

The card on the link is still showing 40,000 points, which is a good sign. - http://www.qantas.com.au/cardselector/detailAction.do?cardna…

  • +2

Can anyone confirm if you applied for and got the 20,000 points for the previous NAB card, still eligible to get 40,000 points for this card if application is successful? Cheers

    • I'd also like to know this one.

    • For your info, I applied 20,000 pints NAB card 2 weeks ago (got approval) and also got approval of this Platinum card today too.

I don't see any T&C that existing customer is not eligible.

You mean this one - Bonus Points offer not available in conjunction with any other offer or to NAB credit card customers transferring from another NAB credit card or to NAB staff under Employees Choice ?
I think the key word here is transferring. I don't believe alphasing or others were transferring to the new card but using both, but I could be wrong. I had to think about it myself though too.
On another not, have all those who've applied been asked to send in payslips etc? Any applied with under the minimum salary and still approved? Think I might need to skip this one and wait for another.

    • Think I might need to skip this one and wait for another.

Genuinely curious - is there likely to be a better offer from NAB?

      • Just another credit card deal I mean. I'm under the minimum income and don't want to risk being declined. This is certainly one of the better ones around though.

        • Cool, thanks

  • Anyone received their 40k of points yet?

    • Qantas Points will be credited to the qualifying member account within 2 months of the eligible purchase

That said, I'm sure I got my 20k points within a week for the last offer. I reckon the points are batch processed, so depends how far away the batch processing is.*

      *I'm just guessing

    • No, I got the deal straight away, still no points

    • Just got mine today

  • NAB must stop sending activated card in mail.

Yesterday I got a message from NAB saying "your account ending in XXXX is over the limit".

As the XXXX does not match with any NAB card I have, I suspected someone stole it and gone on spending spree.

Called NAB and was confirmed. The thief actually rang NAB and pretend to be me and change the PIN.

They said it gonna take 4-6 wks to sort out the fraud spending.

Also they gonna send a new card to a branch for me to pick up.

    • Wow. Hopefully it wasn't your trusty postman. Do you get to keep the Qantas FF points 'earned'? I just got my statement (for my sandwich purchase) and I have cool 5 points.

      • I used PayPass to buy a $3.80 iced coffee from a vending machine. Checked my QFF statement a few weeks later and I have a cool 2 points! Now I just have to wait for the 40k points plus the 1k bonus for signing up for that insurance thing.

      • Haha, not sure about the points. didn't think of that. Will check when got my statement.

        • Log in to your Qantas FF account and check your transaction history. I reckon you've scored ~4k points for the trouble.

        • +1

          @muncan:
You are right. Got 2,082 pts today. Must have been that fraud transaction. still waiting for 20k bonus from other NAB card though. spent on 7th Feb. expecting end of this week ? People say it takes 12 days approx.

        • @rabkoa: just got 40,000 points today (plus 5 for my sandwich)

  • +1

I got 60k points posted into Qantas account today (not sure why there was an additional 20k). Had previously applied for and received the 20k point from previous deal.

    • got too today! but 40k points as expected.
      cool!

    • yup got my 40k today too

    • The additional 20k is from the standard NAB QF Reward Card. I know it meant to be 20k only, but somehow me and my friend both got another 20k in this batch…that's a total of 40k point from the standard card.

question about this Premium Card: Did you cancel the standard card and apply for this deal? Or do you keep the standard card?

  • I also only got 40K and not the other 20K from the second card, I will wait and see before calling them.

    Can you rinse and cycle?

  • Looks like i made it in this batch payment also, 40k points :)

    • Points came today for me also. Much quicker than the anz points.

  • oh nice !
when was your first transaction made ? looks like I ll be on the next cycle :(

  • Got 20k points today.

This url says 40k bonus points:

    http://www.qantas.com.au/cardselector/detailAction.do?cardna…

NAB website says 20k bonus points:

    http://www.nab.com.au/personal/credit-cards/qantas-credit-ca…

Should I be expecting 40k if applying with first url above?

    • +1

the difference is, the first one comes with first year annual fee FREE
the second one, comes with FREE interest balance transfer.
you pick which one is more important :)

  • This is awesome and no annual fee for the first year! Signed up, cant wait for my 40,000 points… going to take the wife away!

  • Got my 40k points today too! I'll hang onto it for another month and get the 1k bonus.

    • you mean 3 months…

    • Purchase and maintain NCCC for 90 days to earn 1,000 bonus Qantas Points.

You could've only had the card for 30 days already. Another 60 to go.

The cost is 79c per $100 (or part thereof) of the relevant balance (up to a maximum relevant balance of $50,000) owing on your NAB credit card account on the closing date of each monthly statement period.

I hope you're paying off your CC before the statement is issued.

      • +1

Oh whoops 3 months. The only purchase i Made with the card was a $3.80 iced coffee and it's already been paid off.

  • Just applied and have been "approved". Hopefully the cards arrive next week.
Edit: It hasn't appeared on my NAB online account, all in good time I guess.

  • Still no bonus points for me, must've missed the batch god dammit

  • I got my points (saw it on Qantas' email today)!

  • Can you see your Qantas 40,000 bonus points on the NAB card account online? Am checking the Qantas site and no bonus points yet. I got my cards last week and used it right away.

    • Mine took about 3 weeks to appear after I had made the initial purchases with both the Amex and other card (just to be 100% save).

I guess only thing to confirm is that your FF number is recorded correctly in the system. I did that the first time I attended their branch.

  • +1

Had a look today and I received the 40k points on my account as well. Thank you very much OP for such a great deal.

    • You checked on your QFF or the NAB account for this bonus?

      • On the Qantas FF account itself.

  • How long after submission did people typically find out if they were approved? Minutes? Hours? Days? When the card arrive in the mail? Be good to know…

    • about 1 day to be approved 1 week to receive the cards

  • Did anyone get 60k points by applying for the NAB Qantas Rewards Card and the NAB Qantas Rewards Premium Card?

    • Yep

      • I have applied for the NAB Qantas Rewards Card back then and got the 20k. Shall I cancel the card before applying for this 40k Premium Card?

  • For those that have received 40k points, did you get it in 1 x 40k lot, or 2 x 40k lot?

    Thanks in advance.

    • what? 1 lot of 40k of course, not 2x20k

      you said 2*40=80?

      • Ah sorry, my typo - I meant 1 x 40k or 2 x 20k…

I got 2 x 20k and was a little confused, hence the question.

  • for those who received the points did you pay only with visa ? or did you use the amex too ?

    • doesnt matter use one card enough, but yeah i used 2 of them to be safe. just couple $ each

    • I only used AMEX

  • Do the bonus 40k points show up on the statement? Because on the issued bank statement I only got the 30 or so QFF points for the single spend I used on the card.

    • yes, it will show up.

      • alright thanks. I'll wait for the next months statement, hopefully it should arrive then.

  • Did anyone get a call from india or something to confirm their application? I didn't on either Nab applications (one was months prior) I did but my GF got this call asking her to confirm details she already put on the application..just seemed really dodgy.

    • I did, it did seem dodgy. It came from an Indian phone number too.

  • +1

Have received 2 statements since getting the new card, no bonus points yet. Anyone else not received their points yet after waiting 6 weeks?

    • +1

Same here almost 2nd month with some spending on the amex card. No bonus points yet but regular spending points transfered to qff.

      • +1

I emailed nab they said can take up to 90 days
        so wait and see

    • I just got a first statement, no bonus points as well.

  • +3

my 40k points just came through today. Seems like NAB does the transfers around 18th of each month?

    • Same!

      Thanks OP!

    • Same here just received 40k points today….. Great …

    • My 40k also just came in, 7 weeks since first spend. Yippppppeeeeeee
