        • +1

better than gagging on a turd!

  • Not bad with the Groupon voucher we got 15% off now to buy this 5% off. Thats…..a lot of % off… :/

    • what groupon voucher?? did i miss something again (snooze.. lose…)

      • Groupon had 15% off their entire site last week.
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/184244

        • You've already received last week's Groupon gift card? Some reported there they are still waiting on the one from January.

        • +1

          @brucefromaustralia:
I'm still waiting for mine from January.

This is the response from groupon:
Thank you for contacting Groupon Australia.

We regret to inform you that your order has experienced a delay in delivery.

We are aware that your delivery is due, however I have checked the latest update and can see your item has been dispatched. Please note, while we try our best to beat the quoted delivery time frames for every order, these time frames are approximate so we appreciate your patience in this case. We expect you to receive delivery within the next 7 days.

We do apologise for any inconvenience caused and we understand your frustration. If you do not receive your order within the quoted time frame above, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

        • @someonefromwww: did you hesitate? well that's scary, haven't got mine yet, says it's ready to ship. But don't worry, I'm sure I'll buy an eGift card next year after my Groupon gift card has expired

        • @clarky:
Yeah, I was going to buy groupon gift card last week when 15% off but I decided it not to until I got my first one. I don't understand why they can't just email Groupon giftcard codes. I mean I can't use physical card out in shop anyhow.

        • @someonefromwww: It's likely to have protection from credit card chargebacks - proof of delivery.

        • @someonefromwww: Me and my friend are still waiting for ours.

        • Does anybody know how to use the evoucher?

I tried to type in my voucher codes into the "redeem code" box but it says "Your code did not work this time. Note you need to be logged in to use a code; please log in or register below. Otherwise this code may have already been used, does not meet the minimum voucher price or is invalid."

+1 just for your opening remarks :)

  • +5

Pricepal has this deal pretty much everyday - 5% off Woolworths everyday money.

  • +2

    Plus 4.5% cashback
    Just noticed

Cashback is currently not payable on Any Woolworths Group Gift Cards purchased through Groupon

  • just wondering can i use credit card to buy the egift card, any surcharge by bank ?

    • +2

No Surcharge with CitiBank or NAB.

It depends on your bank, Read you PDS and what they define as International Xfer fee. I know ANZ charge a fee if the merchant is not in Australia. It sucks I know.

Also if you msg groupon and tell them about it with proof of the charge they will refund that money to you, not sure if it is a gift card or back on to your card.

    • No surcharge.

Thanks Turd! Your post made me laugh!

    • Happy to be of service

Remember, you can always use cashrewards to buy the e-gift cards for 5% off

    • Cashback is currently not payable on Any Woolworths Group Gift Cards purchased through Groupon

      • +1

Think gotrice is just pointing out that this 5% is not a limited time promo, several outlets seem to offer this on a continual basis. Cash rewards and price pal. Experienced users will know these cards are not eligible for further cash back

        • oh yes you are right. my apologies

        • +5

@Turd: It's okay, forgive you this time, since you're new ;)

        • @kaizer: love your work, kaizer

        • Thank you :)

        • Experienced users will know these cards are not eligible for further cash back

          Sorry, I don't get it.
Do you mean if I buy a gift card off Groupon via Cashrewards, I wont get a cashback?

        • +1

@mmd: Correct. No cashback on these cards even if you buy via cashrewards. See https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/184983#comment-2602311

  • Hey guys, are these gift cards usable at Woolies servos? It'd be good to fuel up for $50 but pay only $47.50…

    • +2

      Yes they are.

Btw just thought I mention you can also get 5% off WW GCs from here

One thing to note is that from personal experience, when I bought the 7.5% BigW eGiftcards from Groupon, from purchase to receipt of the actual email of the eGfitcard took a long time. I think about 4 business days.

When I bought some eGiftcards at 5% off from Cashrewards, it only took 12 hours (next business day) for me to receive the eGfitcard. They seem to have a way to directly link to the Woolworths giftcard site.

Not sure if the difference in timing was because the Big W one was so popular and they had trouble fulfilling orders..

  • Does anybody know how to use the Groupon evoucher to redeem on this deal? I likewise have the same problem as teehee:

I tried to type in my voucher codes into the "redeem code" box but it says "Your code did not work this time. Note you need to be logged in to use a code; please log in or register below. Otherwise this code may have already been used, does not meet the minimum voucher price or is invalid."

    Please help if you can.

    • Previously, with Groupon Caltex-Woolworths, the "vouchers" from Groupon kept in your account are not meant for redemption. The merchant, (Woolworths) will email you a eGift "card", actually just a standard A4 size document, which contains the Code and PIN, which you enter into the machine at point of sale.

As someone pointed out, there is a delay in emailing out these eGift cards (already comaplained to Groupon about mine - been 2 weeks), so just need to wait.

I am waiting my one from January and I asked did u hire on foot courier service? Same answer thanks for your patience. I guess never ever go for groupon more. Sucks service, plus product what you can buy online most of them are cheaper other online shops. Only discounted gift card is worth.

  • I bought gift cards on 02 March and still waiting for it……..Not happy customer!!!!

  • just bought a $500 eGift Card for $425. What a bargain…yahooo

    • +1

oh no you didn't - see comment below!!

  • Just received this, even after a successful purchase. What are my options now?

Thank you very much for purchasing a Groupon for the Woolworths eGift Card deal using a Groupon Promo Code.
Unfortunately, due to a technical error, this deal went live by mistake and we are sorry to have to advise you that eGift cards purchased between Wednesday 11 Mar 2015 and Friday 13 Mar 2015 cannot be generated and despatched.
We sincerely apologise for the disappointment. A full refund to your original method of payment has been processed. This is processed automatically and you will find the amount of the refund on the actual date of your Groupon purchase.
As soon as our technical issues are resolved, the eGift cards will be back for sale on Groupon.

  • also received the same email….IMO, we don't have other options..
