  • I bought one of these back on the easter weekend but haven't activated it. If I activate it now will I get the 3 months?

I think so according to the Netflix post.

"Customers must sign up for an eligible plan between 24 March and 5 July 2015 and activate their service.
Once customers have activated their service they’ll receive a link to Optus’ Netflix page, where they can reclaim their unique Netflix subscription code"

I do believe he can no longer unlock this one… happy to be proven wrong though, as I have one locked on telstra

      • May be right…

  • I already have a 6 month free Netflix from Optus - will this add another 3 on top??

    • +1

Yes, according to the FAQs on the Optus website. It says you can use multiple vouchers on the one account and they are cumulative. I'm in the same situation.

  • Just bought the $15 ZTE from coles and activated. Waiting for my optus Netflix email now.

This mobile will work with Virgin mobile card?

  • Nice deal, if someone wants extra phone or mp3,mp4, internet surfing device or needs a phone for kids to watch youtube videos on. I got the $15 optus USB modem with 3 gb data and 3 month free Netflix. I was looking to get zte 286 but for extra 50 cents I get 3 Gb data.

    • Exactly how I intend to use it. That is, it's my on-the-cheap iPod Touch. I've got a 32GB MicroSD card I'm loading up with music and I'll use this as my gym/running mp3 player and interval timer. It's got all the bells and whistles of an iPod Touch and more - Bluetooth, Wifi, GPS. What's nice is that it'll accept up to a 128GB microSD card, unlike a lot of the Android phones that max out at 32GB. I picked it up last night and I've got to say, I'm impressed with the responsiveness of it. My first play with a Windows phone. Downloaded a couple of apps via WiFi and happy days! It feels like my old iPhone 3GS in hand. Very similar shape but lighter.

If you're wondering why I don't just use my mobile phone, my phone is a work iPhone 4S with 8GB memory, so no chance of using that. It's barely got enough memory to cover the apps I have installed.

      • Well at 60 dollar price (considering no free Netflix) only flaw in this device is its horrible display. Other than that, its iPhone 4 like experience at extremely cheap price point.

        • I don't understand your post. Where is the $60 price? What do ou mean no Netflix? What's horrible about the display? Have you seen the display in real life? I'm quite happy with it. Kills it for my intended use.

        • @bigrizz: My bad. That comment by me is pretty bad. First of its $50. If you consider the price of Netflix, The phone actually costs $20. And for $20, you can't complain about anything. But for $50 I think phone have bad display, but in exchange you get a responsive, not crashing, optimized software.

Yes I have seen the display in real life. Resolution is good but display is not rich in colors. And blacks look like greys. Colors just don't look so good on its screen.

        • @dadeadman:

Yeah the display Is crap, the y550 has a way better screen at $40. If my use was just an mp3 player, well I would have to go with the 530 for that; better audio output.

  • Now $48
