    Is the drive inside the case 9.5mm ? I'm asking as I would like to use the drive in my laptop instead of externally.

      The information I can find on the net says that you won't be able to do that with this drive, regardless of it's thickness.

      It's not a normal SATA drive drive in a case with a USB-SATA converter like every other one - the drive itself has a native USB interface.
