  • OP please put 2TB in the heading
    Thanks
    Cheers

    • Yes. edited. Thanks.

  • Im getting a condition not met error. Is there something else i have to do?

    • Looks like you have to spend over $100 for the code to work… just add some $2 item if you can find one…

    • +2

I get the same. Almost a sense of relief that I don't have to deal with them.

2TB WD Elements 5" Hard Drive

OP, it's 2.5" hard drive, not 5" hard drive.

    • +5

He is boasting isn't he ;)

    • +2

May be they found some old 5 1/4 drives :)

Have a feeling they maxed out about 20MB though.

      • 20MB? That was the size of the hard drive on my last machine that had a 5.25" floppy drive.

You were only about 19.5MB off…

        • +1

          mgowen - yes, 5 1/4" 20MB hard drive.
(Oh, how I longed for an ESDI drive!)

        • @McFly:

          Oh, right, yeah. Sorry.

Probably showing my age by immediately equating 5.25" with the floppys and not the HDDs, despite the topic at hand…

        • @McFly: Have one - 135MB still in the cupboard. Makes a pretty good heater as well…

      • +1

Actually, 5 1/4" hard drive maxed out at 19.2GB.

    • Yeah. 5" portable. Must be very unique. :p

  • Thanks OP. Got one for my Xbox one. just in time. Hopefully we will see another DSE $88, 2TB sale again.

Be careful, some of these don't have standard SATA connectors on the inside, so you can't take them out to be used elsewhere.

      • +1

XB1 doesn't have a replaceable HDD anyway, but it supports USB storage.

        • Ohhhh I guess that makes sense too. :P Haven't jumped on an XB1 yet so figured people could still replace them on their own.

        • @someones1: Was surprised that you could plug an external drive into one of the three XB one ports and it will run just like an extension of the HDD, after formatting of course. You can even take the external HDD with you and plug it into your friend's XB one, log in and start playing the games off your HDD on your friend's XB one.

The PS4 on the other hand doesn't yet support USB storage and you need a seagate slim 2.5" HDD to replace the stock HDD. Hope they change that with an update.

    And plus the $30 credit

    • I wonder if you will still receive the $30 voucher if you use the Reward codes and it brings the total down to less than $100.

  • Any way of knowing if this can be cracked open to use the hdd on a laptop?

  • Just picked one up for $94. Was actually shopping online for a 2TB portable drive today….

    • Where'd you get it for that price?

(Sorry clicked report first, rather than reply. Not sure if that does anything)

      • I couldnt be bothered downloading the app.

        so $134

        Less $30 with REWARD30
Free shipping with trial signup for Catch Club
        Existing $10 store credit.

        Down to $94.

Will be even less if you do the same through the app…

        • Ah cool thanks. Didn't have $10 credit so got it for $99 with the app and free shipping, which I'm stoked about really.

  • Awesome thanks, have been meaning to get a 2TB HDD :)

  • +2

I don't even need this… Bought it anyway

  • coupon doesn't seem to work?

  • Can't seem to get it down to $99 with the app. Still $104. How do you get the extra $5 off with the app?

    • +1

first purchase is an extra 5 off.

  • Title could be clearer.

My conversation with the COTD rep
wondering with this deal "Catchathon: Spend $100, Get $30 Voucher"
if I spend $134, and use the coupon code REWARD30, will I still get the $30 credit afterwards?
    Ciriaco
    Yes that is possible
    me:
ah, are you able to confirm?
    10:09 am
    Ciriaco
as long as the order will be worth $100 or above after the code was applied
10:10 am did you complete the order ?
    me:
    not yet
    still considering =)
    Ciriaco
I mean, if your order is still at $100 after you applied reward 30 then it will be eligible
    me:
if I get the $30 credit, most likely I'll order something
    oh I see
    Ciriaco
the deal is the order must $100 worth and items on the order must be on that particular event only
    me:
and will I get the credit straight away or do i need to wait for few days?
    Ciriaco
the reward30 code will apply on the order once entered the CatchATon code will be provided on 21.08.15
    me:
    ok, cool
    thanks rep!
    Ciriaco
    No worries,

    • Thanks for your confirmation. OP updated to confirm the $30 credit will be received on purchase this hard drive!

  • What's a good cheap item to add?

    • +1

Please check the list in OP. However the cheapest item is $19. You might choose to buy the hard drive at $104 if you do not need any other items in the list.

      • +1

Also good opportunity to buy any cheap items with what is effectively free postage. I'm looking at you, cheap chocolates.

        • No. you have to shop in the list to be able to qualify the $30 credit.

        • @claud0902:
As long as $100 is from the list you should be able to add on any other stuff. That would be super lame otherwise if they restrict your order to just the "event" items.

        • @sparkles:

Yeah, sure. I thought you would purchase it at $99 via app and try add other cheap stuff to make your order over $100. That case would not work.

        • @sparkles: I chatted to the rep. Does have to be final payment of over 100 from that event to get voucher

  • So…..bear in mind if you use the app to get another $5 off you won't get the $30 bonus.

  • Does this one also require a previous purchase from COTD? I'm getting the "…coupon conditions not…" met error.

  • I have a 1.5TB non-portable HDD (requires separate power) attached to my HTPC.

Are there any downsides to replacing with this portable model? Other option is to wait for a 4TB non-portable deal.

  • Is this $104 after the $30 credit? If I click on the deal, the price of the item is $134.

    • +1

Apply the code to bring the price down to $104 already and wait for $30 credit from COTD.

      • Ah gotcha. Thank you!

  • According to the pop-up just now:

    Under 10 units remaining!

  • Sold out.

  • Anyone received the $30 credit yet?

    • +1

      Not yet, still waiting

      • Got the email at 11:56 :D

      • Viki8702, Have you got the code yet? I'm still waiting for mine :(

        • Not yet.

        • +2

          @viki8702:

It will be the same as everyone else's

          CATCH30OFF

          Try it.

        • It works. Thanks a lot nismo :)

        • @ben1680:

          Cool, good to hear :)
