  • This is actually quite useful if you travel.

power converters are 80 cents on Ebay.

      • Edited out my comment when the mods changed the title of this post. Converters are free with a lot of overseas purchases anyway.

        • Yer I preferred my title.. Still Mods are just doing their job.

Read that as 10,000 mAh Power Chargers.

Ugh, more like 10,000 house fires. Electronics like this are a fire hazard at worst and generic e-waste clutter at best.

    • +3

Gotta admit, the amount of bad crap I see on deal sites, ebay - man… humanity is producing some real garbage inthe name of profit. It's sad.
      Direct to landfill..

    • +2

Seriously. Had a particularly shonky adapter come with a Hong Kong phone that sparks up when plugged in. Life is too short for this junk.

    • +2

This. And this e-waste is just garbage. And ordering this garbage is adding to the prolem.

I remember reading somewhere that these cheap chargers will more than likely damage your phone or other electronic items connected to it due to the amount of electrical noise in the output…

Edit: a review of a similar UK charger

Not saying it is the same, but buyer beware.

  • Here we go again.

I wouldnt bother risking my life over cheap chargers.

As i recall, wasnt there a freak accident with one in Australlia last year?

    Edit: Yep found it: http://m.smh.com.au/national/raids-expected-after-cheap-phon…

And heres one that explains some difference between the generic stuff and branded: http://mobile.geek.com/latest/253358-why-cheap-phone-charger…

The price alone is no indication of safety, I guess you don't mind dying as long as it's an expensive charger with unsafe innards?

As i recall, wasnt there a freak accident with one in Australlia last year?

As you said …. a freak accident ….. that won't be replicated.

      • +1

Are you kidding? These accidents happen all the time with these shitty chargers.

You might wanna tweek that advertising technique ;->

  • Looks like the US plug can be used in japan.
    Might grab one

    • Wait and buy one in Japan. They won't sell this garbage there. They'll sell stuff that works well. Electronics are pretty cheap over there too.

Overseas plug, and not rated for Aussie use - betting its pretty ordinarily made too!

What difference does it make if out has an Australian plug or not?

How do you know it's not rated for Australian conditions? Did you know that our conditions are the same as other countries?

And as for build quality why would it be any different to the many other chargers that are commonly used in Australia.

Cheap Chinese Crap. Not worth the risk of injury/fire/damage to phone etc. Also useless to anyone in Australia.

Some people just want to set the world on fire.
