Leffe Radieuse Beer, Case of 24 for $80 + Shipping @ ALDI (Online) - Usually $100 at Dan's

520

Are you planning on attending some BBQs or house parties where the host or many of the guests are beer tossers who turn their noses up at VB and 4X and you need a 6 pack to bring along that will earn you pats on the back or a tip of the beret?
Are you planning on hosting a party where there may be a few people coming that think craft beer has “sold out” and now seek to display their superior beer palates by returning to expensive European beer that they were so hyped about 10 years ago?
WELL THEN ALDI HAS A DEAL FOR YOU!
Usually $100 a case at Dan’s, recently reduced to $90 and very shortly to $80 so he can still say he WON’T BE BEATEN, this case of super expensive European beer is now just $79.99 at your favourite German supermarket.

Get a case now and then google the beer brand so that you can comment about its hops and barley and malt and fruit and hops and finish throughout the holiday period to all your beer connoisseur friends.

As per normal with ALDI alcohol specials, it could be online only. They only deliver to the east coast and it costs between $7-$19 depending on how far out in the sticks you live.

In all seriousness, if I didn't get the $65 case of Asahi from Dan's recently, I would probably get this as I have heard it's a tasty beer.

Note it is 8.2% so drink responsibly up.

Do we have Aldi in Adelaide yet? I'll Google that in a mo. Otherwise good price, Dan Murphy have it for $89 delivery only right now.
Also Jim's cellars tends to have leffe cheap fairly often with a not to expensive delivery. $66 for the blonde

Haven't actually bought from there yet though.

Wow. $66 for the blonde sounds pretty damn good.

    • Not yet in SA, coming 2016

    • Aldi in South Australia? Soon, very soon. February 3rd, apparently. (There's a list of locations about halfway through that article.

    • Leffe blond is the wurst beer I have ever poured down my gullet. Never again.

    • +1

The Radieuse works out cheaper including delivery (Postcode 2000) from Jims!

Has anyone attempted a price beat at Dans or Choice One?

Love the description too btw ;-)

  • +3

Yep its a +1 just for the description cause we have to hang out with some vvankers we don't want too at this time of the year!

Another +1, this time for the 8.2% alcohol by volume.

I think this is a pretty tasty beer. I guess I'm a tosser.

    • yep.

    • +3

I think being a tosser only applies if you think your beer preference makes you superior.

  • This is a great beer for occassions/treating yourself, nice and strong too! VB or 4X BBQ's sound like torture with so many great and affordable beers (not this obv) around!

  • Is this only available online? Last time I went to my local Aldi stores, they didn't have the fancy scotch in stock that were available online.

    • Yeah, a lot of the stuff on the Aldi online store isn't available in physical stores.

  • You can buy Rivit beer at Aldi for $26, I would avoid buying Beer with high alcohol such as this because of tax, wine is the cheapest for alcohol because of the disproportionate (WET) Wine Equalisation Tax, beer is taxed much higher as the alcohol volume goes up (same with spirits) where wine is not.

I used to drink Tun green (5%) from Dan's for $43 (often on special for $40) for 30 case, but the Tun red is cheaper at $30 and this variance is because of the tax. So with high alcohol beer, you are not paying for extra quality, you are just paying more tax. Better to drink a good quality mid strength beer to get value for money.

But no a $100 case of beer reduced to $80 is still not an ideal purchase.

You're not invited to my Chrissy shindig. Love Beer Tosser

Mate, I thought I had low standards with beer, but Aldi Rivet and Tun Green is stooping pretty low! :-)

(brb, just grabbing another tin of Rivet from the fridge!!!)

Wow you are OzBargainer extremist, some might say you are Bargain radicalised - I salute you.

    • Inspired by your post, I bought a carton of the St etienne lager from aldi, as I'm not brave enough to buy the Vietnamese made embalming fluid called rivet.

Even better, soak the labels off, write something on the criwn too (e.g. Red) tell em you brewed it yourself.

  • Only available online, please add shipping to the heading

  • plus $7 delivery for the Gold Coast.

Leffe is an InBev brand. Don't touch this rubbish. #drinklocal #drinkfresh

    • ^ this

    • +1

Although it is InBev its still pretty delicious. I love to beer wank as much as the next guy but all beers have there place.
(except for crapola like xxxx and vb. Its not even cheap. Something like Boags draft is the same damn price and a load better)

  • Tip their beret - ah classic! :)

Case of Crownies is half the price, drink local!

      And cat's piss is free

      • Who said anything about Tooheys New?

    • Crown lager, owned by SAB Miller since 2011.

      • It's still brewed locally employing Australians.

Stick with Coopers so the profits stay here too.

@cymon: And because it's a much better beer.

    • edit: didn't scroll down far enough, point already made!

  • 8.2% means less bathroom breaks!

The only thing worse than beer snobbery is the endless whining about beer snobbery.

Yes you can grab a case of Crownies or Rivit or #drinklocal #drinkfresh #yoloswag, but the Leffe offers some tasty Belgian flavours that are a bit different to majority of popular beers in Australia.

Rumour has it you can even own two or more types of beer at once, and choose what to drink according to the occasion!

  • I just went into my local Dan Murphy's and showed them the aldi price on my phone. They charged me $77 to to beat the aldi price.
