I agree…the canvas prints from Big W are great quality. The Glass and Metal prints are also superb quality.

The best thing is they are the same quality as HN prints. Also if bigw doesnt have 74% off HN will. Its the never ending deal.

    • Good to know, thanks!

Excellent, i have been saving some pics for when this deal came up again :) I am very happy with the 2 prints I bought last time.

    • Good strategy as it takes too long to find the special one. Thanks

I got the Fallout Perk Chart that the JB HiFi rep kindly gave us made up as a metal poster - it is going to look so good on the back of the dunny door ;)

  • Hi can somebody post a link for 20x40" canvas prints
    Thanks

No deal on calendars. Minibox offer is much better.

WTF it's a completely different offering

      • +1

There's also deals on photo books and photo calendars, so if you've wanted some of these items, now's as good a time as any to place an order.

        That's what I was refering @pasadala

    • Post updated, thanks mate.

  • How do bigw prints compare to other companies like office works, teds, and digidirect? I'm looking at a variety of prints, but mostly in the smaller sizes.

  • -1

As long as you bear in mind that these won't hold their colours as long as a professional print, they're excellent value.

    • So who provide "professional" canvas prints? I'm guessing they're much more expensive, but it'll be good to know.

I guess you're not recommending this for a bright environment?

Panoramic only!!! Please put in the title.

I have a group portrait I need to print on canvas that is 3:2 ratio out of camera and that can't be cropped. I could add a border on 2 sides but it would look silly. Or I could stretch the people. The point is panoramic print isn't suitable for some photos and I can't be the only one who'll have this issue. If you don't pick panoramic early on in the process you don't see any discounts and will be left wondering what's going on till you work it out.,

20x40 is rectangle. No need for this to go in the title when it already says 20x40

      • OP has changed it. Will save others wondering.

    • +1

      Post updated to reflect this.

As for your dilemma, does it absolutely have to be on canvas? As others have stated, metal prints are also superb quality and it seems metal prints in all sizes are 50% off. Obviously not as great a deal as the one in the title, but could end up being a reasonable substitute for you?

      • +1

Thanks OP. Yes unfortunately it's a multi-generational family photo and other family members have contributed so changing it would require ringing around. I have no idea how durable metal prints are whereas my last print has been hanging in my mother in law's house for 3 years or so. We are waiting on a special for a 3:2 canvas.

  • Does the canvas prints come stretched?

    • +2

Yes, they come stretched/framed just as they appear at the end (it does a little 3d rotation of what it will look like)

    • +2

      Yes they are streched

    • +2

stretched and mounted on a wooden frame, 1 inch of the border will be folded over the frame, so edit your pic to have a 1 inch border if you don't want to lose any of the image to folding.

      • Great idea.. thanks for the tips

  • What's the best picture resolution if you just want to find some pics online to get printed that'll look great qual on a 20x40

    • +2

      http://www.montclairphoto.com/resolution.html
Many others out there . Good luck.
Are not we lucky to have diditional tools

    • I uploaded a 1940x1296 as a test and it complained that it was too low resolution and I should look for a higher resolution version. It wasn't actually helpful enough to tell me what resolution to look for though. Their help page doesn't help either, just says the same thing. if you get the warning, try a higher res photo.

just make sure you check that the pics are in the public domain, or are licensed for private use.

Found on snapfish this recommendation for the 20 by 40 inch (50 by 100cm) canvas

      1620x3060 pixels

  • Great find…where would be the best place to find some online pictures?

  • +1

    BigW website painful to use

If you go to Canvas Factory
    https://www.thecanvasfactory.com.au/cart

    AND enter 25deal as coupon
AND spend over $100 to enable free postage

    it is cheaper

I have used them a lot and service is good, site much easier to use. If you've inadvertently loaded a low res image they'll let you know before processing.
They have pictures on their site you can use.

I have res'ed up pictures from online in photoshop. In fact, if you get an image you can image search in google and it will show you what resolution images are available of the same image.

  • Thanks OP. I had a 20x40" canvas in the system that I failed to order last time (they ended the deal 30mins or so early, so I missed out). Luckily I had it all saved, so it was painless to order…

I concur with snook the interface is bad to line up photos & get things 100% right. Looks like it will be canvas factory next for me…
