The next generation of wireless technology. Multimedia 3G networks transmit wireless data up to 2 megabits per second, making possible the integration of voice, data and video. here

It's available in some areas, means you get more data (at a faster speed) for less

    • I think he knew what 3G is, its just when he copied the specs from the vodafone website, they had a "what's this" link for people who don't know.

  • There's also the BlackBerry® Storm™ smartphone for free on the $29 cap for 24 months, but the downside is, that it doesn't have wi-fi.

One big catch for some people:
despite the huge hardware and feature list, this is not a Symbian phone.
So missing some of the smartphone goodies.
Damned good for an S40 though.

Odd… never seen the words Symbian and smartphone so close to each other.

  • Do you have to access the internet (and use you data allowance) to use the GPS function on this phone?

    • You have the option to disable the internet/3g download.
      Download doesn't take a lot I guess.
I tried using the traffic life update and it only use 22kb.
And YES, it is included traffic life update.
Normally before I left, I connect to my home wifi first to do the traffic life update (you can choose to use Virgin Internet or home WIFI).

BUT the speed camera warning voice sometimes not telling us but it will show us the icon there is a speed camera ahead or sometimes short beep.
So I need to investigate about this whether it is my fault or the system is working that way.

If you need to use A-GPS then you need to connect to internet so it will lock you down GPS faster but it is not necessary.

      Hope it helps
