e-gift cards! Why would you want a physical card anyway?!

    • +2

yeah the e-giftcard option is waaaay better considering you can easily keep track of your balance using the Woolworths Money app.

  • +2

Don't forget up to 7% cashback with cashrewards

    • +2

      Not on gift card purchases.

    • +5

C'mon don't downvote syl_kn for that… some people might actually (gasp) buy alcohol from Dan Murphy's with this offer?

      Thanks for the reminder!

  • -5

where can the egiftcard be used? Woolies? The site only says Dan Murphy

  • -3

How does this deal get this amount of upvotes?

    • +15

because its an instant 20% discount on $50 wish cards, times how many amex cards you may have (some here have 4+ cards)

Its literally free money if you shop at Woolworth's, big w, dan murphys, bws, woolworths fuel etc

Free money is a decent way to get upvotes

    • +3

Same reason why every Amex statement credit gets a solid number of votes. Rebates on purchases that you would have made regardless.

      • +5

Generally yes, but my Xbox One S from Harvey Norman begs to differ ;)

        • I was just curious, wasn't trying to discredit this deal because it's great!

  • +2

Woolworths gonna divorce with Caltex and marry the BP. So In the future we may even use wish card at BP?

    • Would be nice to earn Velocity Points at BP instead of indirectly earn (at a crappy rate) Qantas points at Caltex/Woolworths too :)

      • You DO earn Velocity points at BP.

        • I know you do. What I mean is it'll be nice to be earning Velocity points, which I don't now because I'll always pump at Caltex/Woolworths because of 5% off eGCs. If BP accept the eGCs in the future then I'll definitely consider pumping at BP.

I bought a gift card yesterday, going through cash rewards and today received email for $1.75 cashback tracked. I'll have to wait to see whether cashrewards.com.au will pay out. So it cough be worthwhile to buy your gift cards through them just in case.

  • Still have not received egift card from 8am yesterday

Is it normal for first purchase from Dan murpheys to be held up?

Just trying to work out weather to contact or leave a while

    • I bought 4 last night and received them all this morning. Check your spam and double check you entered the right delivery address.

      • address should be good ,Received tax invoice at a bit after 8am yesterday

        • You had to enter two emails, one for the account/billing side of things (which obviously works) and one for the recipient of the gift card. The later was entered when you created the gift card, before adding it to your cart. If you're worried, give them a call: 1300 72 33 88.

        • @f4te:
Pretty sure was all done correctly as I buy woolies egift cards regularly
Sent online enquiry hour an ago just waiting for reply

        • @horice: Just wait and I am sure it will come through. I ordered 2 last night, one arrived at 4.30am this morning, the 2nd one arrived at 9am. I was a big concern too this morning because when I checked the email the first thing, I noticed it I only received one egift card instead of 2. I waited and 2nd egift card arrived 4 hours later even I ordered both of them together. I think they have lots of ordered, they are working on it.

  • does anyone have the link to where to purchase the egift card?

  • Thanks Op.

Was able to pick up this drop at less than half price by calling up and getting them to price beat the local competitor special and then reduce it by a dollar per bottle.

    https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_900044/stoneleigh-s…

7.33 per bottle compared to the 14.99 list price is awesome with this deal… hope this helps others… keeps the lady of the house happy.

A little bit of working around asking the operator to put through the online order for me on my account, but worked a treat.

    Cheers to you and yours!

  • Got the Amex emails instantly. Now to wait for the eGift Cards.

    • Just received the first GC. Seems like consistent with their checkout message of 3 to 4 hours.

  • Just for those who had the processing error and were charged.

I made a separate order after and only noticed I was charged 2 x $50 and received only the gift card for the successful order - called up Dan Murphy who said to wait for the pending transaction to bounce back. Have now noticed that there is only the second transaction in the statement now and so must have been fixed automatically. However, not sure if I'll get the AMEX credit as I only got the email in relation to the false transaction!

    • Good to hear. My false transactions are still in pending but hopefully will clear soon

    • I got error yesterday, tried on another card today same error (payment failed, charged twice).

  • +4

shit, I didn't read the T&C and went to buy the gift cards in store. Now I have freaking 2 $50 gift cards & no credit!

    • Can I use dan murphy in caltex woolworth?

      • majority of caltex Woolworths (Woolworths' own) will accept the physical DM cards

        • Pretty sure they accept e-gift cards too

        • @t25: agree. I think @bonz is thinking of Caltex stations thats sort of Woolworths JV but still retains Caltex logo

  • Anyone got statement credit for gift cards yet?

    • No; it's only been two days …

      • +5

ME ME ME ME NOW NOW NOW NOW!

  • Are all the enrolments closed now? They seem to have removed it off the website.

    • Yeah - I just tried via the manual link in OP and it says they have filled all enrolment spots.

  • …and Expired :(

    Got my $10 credit!

  • -4

Ha Ha Ha to you people with you straight forward streamlined purchases

It only took 4 days 8 email contacts , complaint emails ,2 phone calls

    Got me $55

    • What was wrong with your credit purchase?

      • egift card wasn't generated apon purchase
okay, glitches happen but to have it remedied was quite painful

Online went unanswered for days even bumping several times

Phone support was hopeless they would just send another tax invoice but not generate the giftcard
Wasn't until I could escalate it to get it sorted

And to top it off when I finally received a egift card number and pin (obviously they just created a giftcard on the fly) the number was blacked out

        • Due to work reasons, I know the egift card provisioning system (used by many merchants including Woolworths).

The first digital delivery attempt failure rate is quite low but not impossible.

However, if they made multiple attempts (resending the tax invoice is part of the reattempt) but still failed, the most likely cause was that the delivery recipient email address entered was incorrect.

I'm not saying you entered the gift card recipient email incorrectly, but receiving order confirmation/tax invoice does not indicate it was entered correctly. On Dan Murphy's website, you enter gift card recipient email and billing email separately.

I understand it sounds unbelievable, but sometimes it could be just an extra space at the wrong place. Always triple check the recipient email as it's a guaranteed pain to involve manual processing / verification of any money related claims.

          @TtiGeR:

          No the address was correct
          Reread my comment

        • @horice:

Please reread my comment. (I did read your comment twice before posting.)

I never said YOU entered the gift card recipient email address wrong, I specifically said,

I'm not saying you entered the gift card recipient email incorrectly,

I just said incorrect gift card recipient email happens a lot (at least with our gift card provisioning/support). Yes, when the support ticket is eventually processed by human (after escalation), a gift card will be generated on the fly and manually emailed to the billing email (where you received tax invoices). So receiving a gift card finally does not mean the gift card recipient email was entered correctly. The billing email address is always used during escalation because most delivery failures are due to incorrect gift card recipient email address.

Again, I didn't say that was necessarily your case, but what happened to many people.

To be honest, I don't know how you are 100% confident you entered the gift card recipient email address correctly because Dan Murphy does not display that email address in the tax invoice or order confirmation. So once you have submitted your order, there is no way for you to check it again unless it's been successfully delivered.

okay who negged my humorous but factual comment

  • Little Creatures pale in pints is $54.95 for 12, equivalent to $63 a case of stubbies, plus cash rewards and Amex credit becomes very good.

  • Received the $10 back and curiously also got $7.50 back for triggering the 15% "End Of Year" Amex spend that expired 31/12/16 that I hadn't redeemed before. Gift cards were purchased on 4/1/17 ˉ_(ツ)_/ˉ

    • That was a targeted deal, weird.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/272508

      • I mean, I activated it but I never made a qualifying spend during the offer period. Of course in hindsight I should have bought $333.33 of Wish Gift Cards from Dan's back then.

It emailed me saying thanks for spending for both offers and thought it was a glitch. Then both lots of money came through :)

        • haha lucky!! Yeah would have gotten 15% off WISH cards too hehe not as good as the 20% off but lols

      • +2
  • Have anyone been able to purchase the e-giftcards lately? I've tried multiple cards and even created new accounts but it just keep on failing.

    • Just ordered a few, still working.

  • Sorry if this is a stupid question - But I can't seem to work out how to buy wish gift cards from the Dan Murphy's website. Only the Dan Murphy's gift cards come up as an option. Do most people buy the Dan Murphy's card then buy the wish gift card with the Dan Murphy's card instore or something?

I've read through all the comments and can't seem to figure it out.

    Thanks in advance :D

    • +1

It is a Dan Murphy's gift card that you buy. It can be used at Woolies etc. in its own right. No need to buy a wish card

    • +1

Underneath, Dan Murphy gift cards are just Wish gift cards, branded differently. So accepted everywhere where Wish cards are accepted.
