AliExpress $4 USD (≈ $5.37 AUD) for New Accounts (Via App)

530

Just saw this on checkout for my AliExpress.

Signup via (on the app) and both referrer and referee get $4 USD (new accounts only)

I've not seen this on OzBargain before, so I thought I'd post. I'm sorry if this is inappropriate, or common knowledge.

It's basically just a referral program.

    Probably something about it here

    • Here:

Deals where the referral system is the offer
You may post a deal that is for the retailer's referral system, under the basis the referee also earns credit and it has not been posted previously (unless it is a temporary offer that had previously expired) or is already included in the OzBargain referral system.
Referral links or codes are not permitted in deals that are for the retailer's referral system. Create a Referral Wiki Page and add your link or code there (for stores not already in the referral system). See the ZenMarket Referral Deal as an example.
      etc., etc.,…..

      • These links are not the same as the QR code I originally posted. They don't seem to give both the referrer and the referee credit (just the referee). I've added a link to the QR code to the wiki

The QR codes convert to a URL. Just tested and both referrer and referee got $4USD (~$5 AUD). The Android app allows you to share the code via email/clipboard or whatever communication app via a URL or QR Code.

        • @neil: sweet :) Thanks

Once you get the USD$4 awarded, can you go back to a pc and go thru Cashrewards for another 8.88% off?

    • Can anyone confirm this?

    • If you use a coupon code that is not listed on this site, rewards may not be payable.

Basically it's going to come down to Aliexpress deciding if they want to pay Cashrewards the commission. If they do you get cashback, but if they don't… no cashback.

    • Make sure PC price isn't [eg, 8.88%] higher than app price…

      (Often, app price is Less)

  • Any minimum spend?

    • A$37.59

There is another deal available too.

It involves purchasing a $4 coupon for your friend and if they use it, then you get $4 too.

It doesn't involve using the app.

  • Is it flat $4 code or minimum purchase required ?

    • Seems to be straight $4

        Mine says min spend $20

        • same here - min $20

        • @sinners007: When I said, 'seems' it was an optimistic reading of the fine print haha. I guess not!

Have many others here been ripped off by merchants on AE? Their "buyer protection" isn't really that at all, it's a joke.

    • +1

I may have been lucky. At least 5/5 full refunds in the last few years. If you play it straight. Provide the requested proof. And the situation is straightforward, I think AE will pay. Can't blame them if they have doubts.

    • I've probably had 3-4 items not arrive ranging from $5-$50 all times I got my money refunded in full and I didn't need to provide any proof other than saying "item never arrived"

I was sent wrong size and appearance "crocs". The seller didn't understand my complaint and couldn't reply in basic English. I don't buy clothing from AE anymore…

Agreed, the communication with non English speaking customer service doesn't help. The application for refund process has tricky little buttons of acceptance (which is irreversible once clicked and sneaky). For example they propose to refund you, but for $0.00. WTF? I have found the entire process unfair and fraudulent, resorting to credit card charge back each time.

    • the things i have bought were all under $60. i always look for a vendor with a reputation in the thousands.

the one time something went wrong an incorrect item was delivered. the vendor re sent the correct item and did not ask for the original item to be returned.

I did get two fifty cent audio cables that one was broken and one was useless but not worth complaining for that.

my biggest drama was when australia post lost a CPU for three days after a failed delivery note while i was home.

    • No luck here, last purchase was sent a fake nike bag, filed dispute and lost.

I only buy cheap mobile accessories from them, as I've made a couple of claims with such items and lost. Ebay is much better IMO, I rarely buy for ae these days

Finally, I deleted the app and my account. defintely the worst online shipping site I ever have.

    They never care customer experience.

I cann't believe why alibaba can grow up to the biggest e-market company in the world.

I've had the opposite experience. Ordered roughly 30+ different items from Ali (mainly electronics) and haven't had any issues. Had some headphone tips come in the wrong color, sent a photo and got free (correct) replacements.

      • it's definitely a mixed bag. Making sure the seller has a good rating definitely helps.

  • I just tried it, its crap. You will not get any coopons
