A-League Sydney Derby Tickets (18th February) $15 Via Ticketek

1000

Ticketek doing tickets to Western Sydney Wanderers v Sydney FC - the Sydney Derby - for $15. Sat 18 Feb, ANZ Stadium Homebush. I believe tickets include public transport.

Huge rivalry and awesome atmosphere - last match was 61,000 people, a record for a regular season game of any football code in Sydney. Check this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_yvY7uOfsg

Appears to work for all ticket categories. I am disappointed as I paid $40 for Cat D last week and can get these cheapies in the same bay!!
Expires 11:59pm Fri 3 Feb.

Can't find those $15 tickets. Only full price.

  • No sporting atmosphere comes remotely close

    • +1

Except when the RBB walk out with 30 minutes to go…

      • +2

haha - I think this is a reason why they've got a special price on ATM. Wanderers failing this year :)

        • You better believe it!

        • +2

Still getting better crowds than undefeated Sydney FC!

        • +1

And the A League Sydney derby drew a bigger crowd than the BBL Sydney derby

  • +9

Thanks for the heads up! This'll be my first ever A-League game, really looking forward to it!

  • +2

A one-off service & handling fee of $6.90 will be added to your transaction

    • +3

The sooner the ACCC squashes Ticketek for this blatant extortion the better - it's the reason I buy season tickets (BRFC4LYFE lol) to avoid their obscene "delivery" charges - how the fk can they justify that for a script that produces a PDF and emails it to you?!

      • +3

When ACCC stopped them charging 2% on credit cards and they immediately upped their service fees from around $5 to $7, so nothing will ever change with them.

I think the game is at ANZ Stadium Sydney Olympic Park NSW

  • Was just looking at this game on telstra thanks site over the weekend but the ticketing was closed already. Snatched 5 tix immediately. Thanks OP.

    • +4

Last Derby at ANZ SFC got up 4-0.
Extra time and penalties are only for finals.

    • +5

Sometimes 0-0 can be more exciting than a high scoring game.

        • +14

sigh I don't feel like having an argument about whether it's boring or not, it just isn't and the majority of the world agree with me.

          The end :-)

        • +7

You could compare it to cricket, where they take 5 days to score a thousand points or more, then call it a draw.

        • +1

@onetwothree: Ouch. Just run that under some cool water for a while there fredz

        • Its only the most watched and played sport the world over but I'm sure you already knew that.

    • Will I see a lot of goals? What kind of retarded question is that? If we knew who would score when we'd all be taking Sportsbet to the cleaners!

      • -1

Although it's pretty ambitious question, it's still a pretty fair question, especially from someone who doesn't usually watch sport… Say, if these two teams had a record in their last 5+ games against eachother with score lines of 3-3 or 4-4 etc. or if the teams both have great strikers and weak goal keepers etc. now I don't know much about the A league or these teams, but if you have a look at their history and who's playing in their side (one team could be playing their 2nd goal keeper/injures etc) which could influence the scoring to be greater than usual etc.
so imo, probably not the most retarded question, I think you may have read that as "what will the score be?" Then your reply would have been warranted lol

  • Anyone mind to share about the transport from city? Like how to get to olympic park for this event? Where do we can check the transport detail for this event? Do they gonna provide us a one way train from central to olympic park or do we have to go to lidcombe first etc? Thank you.

    • +1

usually during event there will be direct train from central, but on the day just arrive early to central station and ask around the staffs.

    • +4

if us westies can catch a train and a bus to the SFS im sure you can catch a train to lidcombe then the olympic park shuttle

    • +3

Just use Google and the TfNSW website mate. It's not hard.

      http://www.transportnsw.info/en/transport-status/events/inde…?

There will be special event buses and trains, and your match ticket covers your fare.

    • Transport cost included in the ticket price. There will be direct trains from central for the Sydney FC fans who pretend to live in the Eastern suburbs.

Also several special bus services will run to olympic park from various parts of the city.

  • will i see a lot of goals in this game? - unknown
not so keen to sit 2 hours for just 0-0. - ok
will they have penalty shoot out at the end after draws? - no

    • Whatever the score, at least it won't have the dull lifeless atmosphere you get at AFL & NRL

  • +6

We should have an Ozbargain section/stand :)

  • +1

    Caaarn Glory!

  • How many flares and weapons should I take?

    • +1

Don't worry about it, they hand them out at the door

    • +6

Depends on how many BS newspaper stories you have read. I've attended several derbies with my 10 year old son and never seen any problems. Fans arrive at and leave the stadium together with no dramas.

As a veteran of games in the Uk in the past where there was a genuine threat of trouble I find the newspaper coverage here abosolutely laughable. One derby game was described as "a violence filled night of terror" last season, becase there were 3 arrests - out of over 40,000 people. Almost 100 people had been thrown out at the cricket a few days before - no mentoin of that….

  • -4

Wow that's only $15 per goal!

  • -5

It wasn't a record for any regular season game in any code. From memory the Swans got over 70000 to one of their first games there against Collingwood.

    • For an all Sydney game, yes it was
But regardless, at least it has atmosphere, unlike the feeling of being at an art gallery when at an AFL game. Utterly lifeless.

      • +4

Or NRL, where you get to share the experience with over 60,000 empty seats.

  • is there any reason I can't seem to be able to get the tickets for $15 when I go to the best avaiable tickets there priced at 15.30 but upon checkout it goes up to like 57 dollars am I doing something wrong?

  • +2

This is annoying, paid full price a few days ago!

  • tra la lala la la, F@#¢ off East Sydney tra la lala la la, We run this city!

    • +2

Do you? Oh good - I've been trying to get hold of the guys who run the city. I need to put a DA in to put up a carport, can you come over and certify it for me please?

  • snatched 6 tix just now, im really looking forward to the game

  • For all those saying 0-0 are boring games should watch tonight's game Bris Roar vs Sydney FC.
Absolute cracker of a game. Excitement throughout the whole game. Fast paced. Great advert for the A-League.

Watch it on SBS on demand or Fox Sports.
