  • this is so irresistible … arghh … damm optus, shudda taken a cue on customer retention from mister kogan!

too bad kogan doesnt have shared data sim like optus, but for the cost/mth on "X" gb, its good!

  • What is the process of bringing my current number over to this prepaid plan?

    • Same as any other. You can do it online at koganmobile.com.au

      • Thanks. Do I need to cancel my current plan first?

        • No, never tell the losing telco you are leaving, you would lose your number. The gaining telco will do everything.

And if you have a plan or credit with the losing telco, you will lose any credits and be liable for any final payments (e.g. final bill, paying out phone bought on a plan).

  • Wow thas great.

Unfortunately no change to Kogans SMALL 1GB plans.

Note Kogans $10 Referral Credit is applied to your Kogan.com account and is time limited. You cant use it to buy credit on kogan mobile.

  • newbie here, my contract with vodaphone ends in May, should i get this?? i rarely call or text, and use data a lot often (but not a hog)

so will i get to keep my number? And it will be showing Kogan in my phone? not the vodaphone?

i really want huawei P10 alone with this deal in a contract tho,,since i cant afford all in once…

    • Kogan is by far best value mobile provider. Wait till your contract ends in May or you will pay a penalty! yes you transfer your number to Kogan. Yes will show Kogan but still on Vodafone network with Kogan.
Kogan sells phones outright - not with plans

      • till on Vodafone network with Kogan.

what does that mean??? kogan is partner with vodaphone?

thanks so much for the explaination. will do for sure.

        • Kogan buys network services from Vodafone wholesale and packages it. Kogan doesn't own any infrastructure. Kogan is what is known as a MVNO: Mobile Vitual Network Operator. Only the big 3 are real operators, the others are virtual, i.e. repackagers.

    • Yes it's the same service just 60% cheaper. No brainer

    • Make sure that you do the sign-up & port the number to your new carrier BEFORE you cancel that contract— or you'll have no number to port!

    Vodafone network :(

Cant wait to go back to Voda after a year of dropouts on Optus, I guess everyone has a different experience

      • My wife is on Vodafone and I'm on Telstra with Aldi. Lots and lots of spots where she doesn't have signal and I do.

    • Now there's a comment that's rooted in the past. What's up zapy, stuck in a plan you can't get out of?

      • Fortunately not… I'm on prepay and I've changed my provider over a dozen times now. I like to try new things.

Vodafone didn't do it for me.

        • You like to try new wife, too ?
          lol

  • I've always had a 2gb and 3gb extra on my account..dont know why i've gotten those bonuses. So I got 10, 3 and 2 from the large plan purchased a year ago

Jolly good show kogan. Jolly good show!

  • +1

Awesome. Thanks OP! Hopefully Vodafone is okay!

    • works perfect for me so far, drops out occasionally in remote/bush areas

  • Still nowhere as good as Jeenee Mobile. I switched from Amaysim 7GB $39.90 plan to Jeenee Mammoth $45 20GB + Unl Talk/Text and it was the best decision I've ever made. Data is 3G only but who really cares, it's still fast enough for streaming movies and songs, however they do have 4G plans too for a little bit extra. No contract is a win win too :P

    • $30.49/month for 14GB and unlimited calls/text is pretty competitive though?

    • 3G only. Losing!

  • hi guys,I got 8 gb 365 days plan,Can anyone tell me how to upgrade into 10gb,please

  • +1

    KUDOS TO KOGAN!

  • I sure wish anyone else's service actually worked where I live….just south of Mandurah, WA you get terrible/no reception unless you're w/Telstra/Boost.

  • Awww, no upgrades on 1gb small plans… I think I should upgrade. Can you upgrade this plan?

    • sorry mate just on the M, L and XL plans

      • I've purchased the M plan and upgraded to the Mplan from Splan.
Now I just need to ring koganmobile and get the previous fund refunded.

Oddly finding Kogan vodafone 4G service available where I could only get telstra 3G in my travels to melbourne yesterday.. Mindboggling..

  • +1

At least give us peasant 1gb subscribers monthly data roll-over.

    Pwetty Pwease?

    • +3

      Phogan sez: Pwiss off

Yeah, rollover on low data plans would be nice but telcos know it means we'll recharge less often.

And to rub it in the faces of us 1GB plan users, got a txt from Kogan this morning saying

"Great news! Your Kogan Mobile data allowance has increased! Enjoy more browsing and downloads. See new inclusions here - https://goo.gl/vzdZ7q"

Only to visit link and see it's still only M, L and XL plans.. Thanks for that Kogan.

Maybe all of us on 1GB should submit a ticket to ask where our allowance increase is? A little push for them to consider us? 1GB->2GB would be nice.

    • +5

Okay, so far it's me and you. Where's the 1gb pitchfork mob at?

  • My only gripe is that there's no roaming. Sometimes I have to turn on toaming for emergencies like what happened to me yesterday. My travel wallet was stolen in Genoa with everything in it. I wished I was still with Virgin!

Didn't help that the fingmyplan europe sim only just arrived a mth after I ordered it so I didnt have it for my trip!

Also annoyed thst no included international calls.

    • +5

Haven't needed to make calls while overseas, but to get around things that needed verification by sms code, I left the sim in an old phone at home with Pushbullet installed on both phones. Since I had easy access to Wifi on my phone wherever I was, I could receive and send txts via Pushbullet. Obviously not going to be useful in every situation though.

      • This is an awesome idea, thanks for posting!

  • Kogan is smarter than the rest. Their business plan is based on the majority of the average users. They know most will not use up the monthly data and only the few will. May be the Telstra/Optus/Voda will one day learn.

  • Does anyone else find their data with Kogan gets used up really quickly? It's apparently per kb billing which is awesome but I had to go and look that up because I previously had ~2gb per month and never ran out and now I run out 10 days early on the 8/10gb plan. I don't think I've changed my usage at all so not sure what's going on.

    • Can't confirm that, at least for me it's the same usage that I had with Amaysim/Optus before. I've actually tried to churn through the $1 14GB test month by not switching on the wifi sometimes and by listening to internet radio, but have only used up slightly over 1GB..

  • I just noticed that their mobile internet significantly slowed down after you used up more than 50% of your data. I swapped another SIM and the internet is fast again. I suspect there maybe some kind of shaping in place for those who used up data in a short period of time. This has either been done by Vodafone or Kogan. It maybe a good idea to activate a few SIM and swap around to avoid this.

  • How long do we have to activate/use the voucher?

    • I purchased my 365 day medium voucher on 30/1/17 and these were the terms: 'Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 31/03/2017. Activation must be made before the voucher expiry date'

Perhaps you get two months from purchase date to use the voucher

    • I purchased a medium too
      Mine expires June

This Kogan Mobile voucher is non transferrable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEST on 30/06/2017. Activation must be made before the voucher expiry date. Voucher does not apply to subsequent recharges. For full Kogan Mobile terms and conditions, visit koganmobile.com.au.

  • Show the actual prices instead of making us go to their site and be tempted to buy more 4k screens

People are nuts upvoting this so much. It's a 12 MONTH CONTRACT. What happens when all the other providers start coming out with better/unlimited data plans? You're stuck

    • Better/Unlimited data in Australia. lol

  • How long does it take to have the sim card delivered? I received an email last friday saying the sim card had been despatched, but i still havenot received it yet. and I am living in Sydney, not a remote area.
