    • +1

What is the Coles Myer deal?

      • +1 what's Coles myer egift card?

    • Thanks for the reminder.

    • +1

Not allowed to purchase gift cards with gift cards as the money does not go back into their business

      Source: I'm associated to Coles.

      • +1

Would it work at self checkouts?

        • +1

The "Gift Cards cannot be purchased with Gift Cards" term is not coded into the POS - only imposed by staff themselves.

          Interpret that as you will.

          Mate's words, not mine.

        • +1

          @silverrat23:

It's actually coded into the POS at Coles stores now on both POS and Self Checkouts.

Was merely a loophole before that either you got away with on Self Checkout or the TM let you.

        • @bricabrac89:

          e-gift cards work

    • Apart from the amex deals last year where do you get discounted coles myer cards?

      • You can buy Coles gift cards at 5% off using EFT and 4% off using Visa/MasterCard from AGL rewards if you're a customer.

      • Few users on here sell CM e-gift cards @ 5% off

  • so buying this!! :D

Don't forget Officeworks pricematch policy, you maybe able to save some more

    • +1

Just rang Officeworks Pitt St Sydney. The guy checked with his manager and said that they won't be able to pricematch because it is advertised as a deal (2 for $30). If the cards are being advertised individually as $15, then only they can pricematch it. Bummer. :(

      • +3

        Nice try & thanks.

Sadly, there are all kind of excuses not to price match.

      • Wrong as a previous employer it's all up to the managers discretion, you are also able to do the BOGOF promo which they had for $20 itunes at HV.

      • Officeworks South Melbourne initially said they'd price match, but the PoS system wouldn't accept it for some reason and when the manager was called in to check, he said an immediate no for the same reason - "it's a bundle".

A shame, since I called Kmart Richmond and they said they're sold out already. Other Kmarts require a more epic trip!

  • do the itunes cards ever expire?

    • +2

If you put it into your account, it won't expire

    • +1

Officially they expire after 2 years, but it is never enforced. I have had cards for over 2 years and they worked fine. However, as coco 1458 said, if you redeem the credit into your account it definitely does not expire.

      • apart from gifting whats the advantage of not putting it on your account immediately?

        • +1

No advantage, but I manage multiple iTunes accounts (one for purchases, one for my iCloud storage, one for my wife and daughter) and so keep them unused and top up whichever account needs the funds.

I wish Apple allowed for family sharing of iCloud storage, or allowed a single iTunes account to pay for other accounts. It would solve a lot of my problems of managing the multiple accounts

        • +2

@changa: I thought family sharing existed already in iTunes? Definitely not the iCloud part but the paying for other accounts at least.

          Edit: HERE

        • +1

@bricabrac89: Point is you couldn't use store credit (iTunes cards) to pay for purchases from other accounts, you'd need the credit card for those.

        • +1

@quarrymaster: Exactly. For some reason all family member purchases get charged to your credit card (even if you have iTunes credit available). Also, in app purchases do not unlock for all family members. Each family member needs to make the in app purchase.

The way I get around this is I have one specific iTunes account which all my family use for purchases (so we all get the benefit of the in app purchase), and we all have our own iTunes account for iCloud storage.

        • @changa: The other way to get around this is-

          a) just buy the app, book, music, movie, tv show, etc. on your own account (with store credit) and the other family members can then download that item without your credit card being charged.

          b) buy itunes gift cards for family members so that they have their own credit

The credit card will only be charged if the person who purchases the item doesn't have store credit.

        • @changa:

          Well that sucks!

But also a good idea on your part with accounts, good way around it.

They should really fix that limitation though.

      • They expire 2 years after your last purchase.

        • Actually I just checked Apple T&C's on iTunes cards. The cards have no expiry date, "iTunes and Apple Music Gift Cards don't expire" https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT201195

        • @changa:
OK, the way I see it, there may be two different dates. The card itself doesn't expire if you dont apply the credit to any iTunes account.

But once the card has been redeemed, then the two year time limit kicks in,

          http://www.apple.com/shop/question/answers/readonly/do-itune…

        • @51ngh: I'm not sure that a trustworthy source, it is a response from a community member and not an official Apple response.

It may be that Apple changed the T&C's as I did think that there was a 2 year expiry (but that may have been awhile ago).

HVN haven't done a BOGOF iTunes promo in a while.

    • +1

      Hardly normal eh?

  • +1

    Apple music?

    • +1

Yep, works for paying the Apple Music Subscription

    • +1

And Netflix if you have it

  • Can't believe no one's mentioned that karaoke machine. Or those headphones.

    Those things look like quality.

    😋

Limit 10 per customer. (fine print)

    Good Deal!

    • Happy with just 2 cards to top up my iTune account. If I want to buy movies or music, I will use my $800+ Telstra prepaid credit to purchase from Google Play store :)

      • where did u get all this prepaid credit from?

        • +2

I accumulated them over the past few years from unused monthly credit.

        • @edfoo: sell it on ebay

    • +2

Damn, I was hoping to buy a few thousand dollars worth to pay my tax bill.

  • sweet. i might get a couple of these for my Netflix account :)

  • Lucky i held off getting the coles ones!

  • 25% off Netflix FTW

    • -3

      How?

      • Use iTunes to pay for netflix and use these cards for your itunes balance

        • how do you use iTunes to pay for your Netflix? where is that option, in the app or on iTunes itself?

        • @onesimpleclik: You need to subscribe with Netflix through the app on your phone/ipad. Make sure to cancel your current sub with Netflix first.

  • These itunes deals used to be quite common a couple of years back but its been while since ive seen a 25% deal

    • You can get 24% off when woolies have 20% off iTunes and then pay via your wish gift card bought at 5% off.

  • +1

    Thanks Trent, nice find.

  • +1

Good find. These have become a lot rarer nowadays. I regret buying a lot at Coles yesterday now!

  • -6

Ever since I realized the company designs everything so that you should pay them more if you have smallest problems with their products, Apple and i…just don't appeal me. Why pay for iTune when you can get Google play credits by 3-question surveys?

    • Because I haven't received any Google surveys in over a year?

      • -5

Just iGo to an iStore, iTake your iWallet and iPay the iGuy on the iSide of the iCounter to iBuy some iCards. iGift iCards to be iSpecific. The iCards would be iGood for iEverything in your iLife. iEverything…

      • +1

I've noticed the surveys are designed to prevent abuse (not suggesting that you may have abused but that even occasional slips/lapse of memories may prevent future surveys).

I've raked over $50 in just 3 months. I don't even use the credit much except for rate apps. This beats any iTune deal for me.

      • Well maybe u no longer get notifications. Have you tried opening the app.

        • Yes but nothing.

However, in that time, I did put Google credit into my account so not sure if that will impact it…

  • +1

time to load up for Apple music!

  • Anybody have luck with pricematching at officeworks?

  • +1

Bought 20, the limit applies to 20*2, not for each iTunes card

  • +1

For those buying multiple cards, make sure you double check the receipt to make sure the cards are all showing up on it and has 'approved' printed. Bought 6 yesterday, tried to redeem one when I get home, and it didnt work. Only then I realised that on the receipt, out of 6, only 5 were there, and out of the 5, only 2 were APPROVED (activated). ugh. Have to go back after work today to get it sorted out.

  • Plenty of stock when I popped into K-Mart Keysborough.

  • KMart Carousel WA ozbargained. No stock $20.

  • +3

which prick just cleaned out Midland. bought $480 worth.

  • Do they still have this?

    • Yes!

  • +1

Awesome deal. I pricematched at OW do not take no. The bundle example is a computer and printer. This is just 2 cards for $30. I even got the 5% off as well…. Purrr purrr

    • +1

Can we get a copy of the receipt? I heard some OW stores won't match let alone beat.

    • Which OfficeWorks Store price beat this deal?

    • +1

Officeworks Greenacre… Ha sorry never keep receipts. But we were in the mood for a fight and threatened Fair trading for false advertising.

The basis of the exclusion is wrong. And If they price match then there is no argument not to give the 5% discount.

      • Bummer, fair enough. Thanks anyway though.

I'm happy even without the price match assuming I can get stock.

  • Kippa Ring in QLD Northside just put a huge stash of new stock out if anybody is after any in Brisbane QLD area :)

  • Hey was at Footscray Kmart about half an hour ago and there's a couple of hundred near the layby customer service desk (not with the other cards by the registers) Thanks for the great deal!

  • There's 8 left at Top Ryde near the self-serve checkouts, the discount is unmarked but it scans as 2 for $30.

  • You can buy everything else off their online catalogue, but the cards !
