Original song not included :(

Yeah it's not Crazy Taxi without Offspring and Bad Religion. Thankfully I still have my Dreamcast so I give the origin a spin every now and then

• The newer Android and iOS versions, including the free ad-based ones, do have the original songs though. Still no Pizza Hut and KFC, but it's a definite step up for me personally.

I don't even mind the replacement soundtrack, I've played the game on arcade, PS2, Game Cube, PSP, PS3, 360, 360 on Xbone, iOS, Android, and so on. I've spent enough time with the replacement soundtrack that I enjoy it none the same, the songs are by no means bad, just not as nostalgic.

404 not found

Keep refreshing…

• "You're too slow!"

• Or not refreshing enough :p

• filled out the survey:

COUPON REDEMPTION SUCCESSFUL

CLICK TO VIEW YOUR STEAM INVENTORY

But when clicked on the steam inventory there is nothing…. :(

Try http://store.steampowered.com/app/71230/Crazy_Taxi/

IN LIBRARY Crazy Taxi is already in your Steam library

• I had to login to the Steam client on my PC - not into Steam via a web browser - to see Crazy Taxi in my inventory. I played this many years ago - was a great game back then. The crazy quests / side games really made it.

Thanks OP.. but wow what a painfully slow process!

• I cannot 100% confirm but reviews say that "Offspring" and "Black Flag" have been removed, so its new music, if so lame…..

• +6

Yeah.. Just checked and its not there..

Folder is <drive>:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Crazy Taxi\SoundData\music_adx

All the adx files are literally mp3's if you rename them. I've got the complete Offspring collection that I'm gonna stick their songs back on. LOL.

• +3

Life Hacks! Nice…

• +6

my bad.. ADX is a sound format itself.. there's converters that convert mp3 to ADX. Gonna give that a go and report back. lol

• Took ages to get it verified.. but working now. Thanks OP

I used to play this at the Telstra shop, I think it was in about 2000. On a Sega console of some kind. My mum couldn't peel me away from it…

Dreamcast

• Thank you. I was going to say Saturn and that just didn't seem right.

• +1

After getting the subscription success email I had to log into SEGA using my Steam account as the authenticator.
It then automatically redeems and activates the game straight into your Steam library.

• Thanks for the free game!

• Thanks mate

• Does the game also come with free BO?

• "WE COULDN'T REDEEM YOUR COUPON

Error details: "Steam error""

• Didn't work with Firefox. Subscribe button just wouldn't click.

With Chrome, the button clicked and displayed: Almost finished… We need to confirm your email address. To complete the subscription process, please click the link in the email we just sent you.

Endlessly refreshing my mailbox now.

• Check your Spam folder.

• Did the survey, got to the end, but when it tried to redirect to Sega it got a Sonic 404 page?

• Refresh a few times.

• I got the end just to be greeted with a blank screen.

• Thanks

• OK i successfully got the subscription but when i click on the follow this link to get your free game, when i click on it i'm greeting with a 404 not found error.

I think i'm just wasting my time.

• Keep refreshing?

• Getting the 404 as well

• They probably ran out of steam keys.

I notice the survey is no longer listed on the Sega UK web site. It may have been pulled.

• Waited a bit longer and tried again and got past that.
Now seems to be stuck on "Sending your Steam data to our servers"

• Keep refreshing?

• -1

do you guys find fake taxi or crazy taxi more enjoyable?

• Neither…. Cluster-Truck all the way

• just worked for me. i did have to refresh a few times and do the 'sending steam info to our servers' thing twice but it worked.

• did you just keep refreshing the 'sending to steam' page?

EDIT: yep, refeshed a couple of times and then came through

• I give up. No matter how much i try i keep getting the 404 error. This was a lemon.

• Keep refreshing…?

• I do and makes no difference. Now i'm getting a 403 forbidden now.

• I tried it just now…

ALREADY PURCHASED
Your Steam® account is showing that you have already purchased this title. Thank you for completing the survey

@NGPriest:

Well getting the 404 now.

This doesn't work no matter how many times i've tried refreshing. I've tried dozens of times so far.

No free game for me.

• @hollykryten: Keep refreshing :D

• Worked. Got a 404 at first, waited a minute and clicked "this link" again and it was all g.

• The "Sending to steam" was actually stuck when I typed ^^^ that comment.
But, I refreshed the page and was greeted by a 404 page.
So i clicked the url and pressed enter and it confirmed that it was in my inventory.
Now I'm downloading.

When you check inventory it doesn't show up in steam items, Crazy Taxi is automatically added to you games library.

mine's still stuck on the rotating circle. What a waste of time

• Best reason to buy a Dreamcast

• Got it by follow the instruction above.

• Oh man I have so many great memories playing this and the House of the Dead games on a mates Dreamcast as a kid, thanks OP!

Great nostalgia review by Lazy Game Reviews linked below. He explains the music fiasco and other issues faced with the PC port.

"You don't have permission to access /survey/callback/ on this server."

Well, that's a tad annoying.

Edit: "COUPON REDEMPTION successful"

Woo, after an hour of refreshing! :D

• Survey link worked thanks :)

Putting Gus on the rickshaw was my favourite thing to do.

• Thanks buddy

I can say the survey link didn't work for me no matter what. This is through Opera which is based on Chrome. But i tried Edge browser and Internet Explorer too and it didn't make any difference. Just the same 404 error after dozens of refreshes.

• I was wary of this when it failed a few times, but NGPriest is right, keep refreshing the confirmation page 404 error, and then when you receive your confirmation email and click on the link, and get another 404 error, keep refreshing. Then after it sends you to your steam account to confirm your email is linked to steam, you get sent back to Sega website and guess what, this callback page also 404's. Give it a refresh or 2 and it will work. Some steps took me about 5 or 6 attempts to get it working, others worked after one refresh.

It then does not show in my Steam inventory like it says it will, but it shows in my list of games. Good luck and cheers OP

edit: on chrome browser

If this was properly setup it shouldn't require multiple refreshes just to even get it to work and this after trying to pull your hair out in frustration. This is just a poor system which Sega has got going.

• I totally agree, it shouldn't require any refreshes (they will get thousands of duplicate submissions). The server appears to be getting overloaded as it hits the 404 page immediately on some refreshes, where others try and load for a few seconds then fail. On the odd refresh, the page will load instantly.

I'm just telling you how it worked for me :)

Np pages took more than maybe 30 seconds of refreshing to work, so if it is taking too long come back later and try :)

After refreshing for 20 minutes…

Get stuffed Sega

• +1

Yes. This is the worst game giveaway system which i've ever seen. It doesn't even work right. I don't know what system Sega is using but it's crap.

• If I was bothered enough I'd send them an email and ask for my survey answers to be removed because I didn't get my free game haha

• Refreshing for 20 minutes probably hasn't helped the rest of us mind..

• Hey, the guy up there did it for an hour! haha

• +1

I'm thinking of giving up because I actually already own this on Xbox Arcade and I know I'll never play it on PC. But free is free, apparently our time is free too because I've been trying for 20 minutes as well.

• +2

Stuck on sending steam info to Sega servers. Maybe they ran out of keys?

• No, I just received mine a couple of minutes ago.

• Thanks…worked, eventually.

• If you're getting the 404 error on sega.com after completing surveymonkey, just keep hitting refresh

• Tell that to the people who've done that dozens of times and had no go after an hour of trying.

• Sorry, that got me past the surveymonkey bit and to the email confirmation bit where I am now 404'ing when I click on the link to redeem

• +1

Mine keeps saying sending steam info to our servers. But not doing anything

• guys use this if you need a temporary email address:

http://10minutemail.com/10MinuteMail/

• Works fine for me. First time no problem. Used Firefox.

• I couldn't get it to work after refreshing the "final page" a couple times. Came back some time later and it said I already had the game installed and sure enough, i have the game. Probably it just takes ages to activate - refresh the last page a couple times, then come back later.

• very easy, first non survey link worked

• Email entry does not allow capitalisation in my experience. Could not continue with capitalisation entered.

• I used capitals in my email…

• Must have just been me then.

• -2

email addresses are case insensitive dumb ass

• Doesn't mean the website is.

• Unfortunately, didnt work for me

PLEASE WAIT…

Oops something went wrong. Please make sure you are using the same browser you used to complete the Survey. Alternatively, please complete the Survey using this browser.

• Awesome game . Highly recommended for training of anyone thinking of becoming an Uber driver 😉

THE SURVEY IS NOW CLOSED.
Thank you for your participation.

Looks like I missed it

• I'm sorry for your loss… :S

• What do you mean? I just reloaded that survey link and doesn't say anything about it being closed….

• oh…it was afterwards "You can now follow this link to receive your free game."… thought you meant the survey link which is still active….

• +1

Did the survey during the promo period but the email never arrived

• Mine was in junk.

Thanks heaps for sharing OP!

• Mine is not in Junk, I did check that.
