  • Is this different from the one in the deal? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Samsung-Galaxy-S7-Edge-G935F-…

It comes down to $508.45 with the code (plus extra $5 discount they're running at the moment. It's supposed to apply when you purchase another item, but it came up in my cart as a test). That seller is based in Malaysia, but it shows the item located in Australia, so not sure what to make of it.

That link is definitely a grey import, main deal post is genuine aus stock. Difference is basically zero warranty (only what the seller puts on) VS 2yrs Samsung warranty

      • I see. It said item is located in Australia so I thought it was an Aus stock.

The clue is that seller lists them as "new, never used" not actually "Brand New" which by eBay's definition is new in the unopened package. They are probably 1st grade returns, cleaned and repacked.

      eBay's Definition:
"New: Never Used: A new, unused item with absolutely no signs of wear. The item may be missing the original packaging, or in the original packaging but not sealed. The item may be a factory second or a new, unused item with defects"

Damn! Never paid close attention to those definitions. I learnt something new tonight. Ta

What do you guys reckon, new Moto G5s Plus or Oppo R9?

    • Moto hands down! It's a newer phone and you'll most definitely get more updates.

Why is everyone so damned obsessed with updates?

Android 4.4 still runs most stuff!

        • I'm not that obsessed about updates but others might be. I have an old Asus transformer tablet that's running on 4.4 and it's fine with me for what I do - a little gaming and browsing.

But if I'm gonna buy something now, I would rather pay $350 for a current phone than pay $350 for a phone that's a year and a half old.

        • @alwaysupforabargain:

Sure all other things being equal. But it's a minor selling point at best. Not having the latest OS locks you out of some software. So does not having an earlier version OS too though.

I'd be more interested in security updates but even the best Android phones absolutely seem to suck at staying up to date.

        • @syousef: Yeah you never know how long your phone will be supported!

But in this case, I'd say with a difference of 1.5 years between releases and specs being similar, it makes more sense to me to buy the newer phone. I'm no longer talking only about updates but more along the lines of having a more recent phone. In the end, it comes down to personal preference - some may prefer the Oppo R9 over the Moto G5s Plus.

P.S If someone really wants an Oppo, I'd suggest the R9s or even the current R11!

After the model "Samsung BOOM 7"
I am afraid of Samsung model like WHATEVER 7..

  • Hi, any chance of sale on huawei p10 plus. Your listing says $922 (830 after)

Grey import ones are like $690 after discount with store warranty.

Happy to pay a little more than $690, but not too much please.
    Regards,

  • Received the (S7 Edge) phone today, day after ordering. Thank you very much!
