  • Thanks bro!

  • In a normal household situation how long would you expect these to last without recharging?

    • Yes.

    • Possibly.

      • Maybe

  • Mine went for 3+ weeks. Turned on 5 times per night.

    • works when charging ?

    • +1

TBH, that doesn't sound very good to me (although + could be a lot :-).
A busy passage, have to recharge battery every three weeks…..

  • +7

I have the battery one and it's great, only thing that's annoying is the 15 seconds it stays on for, would be heaps better if it was longer or could be adjusted.

Have mine in the toilet and 15 seconds isn't long enough to do a pee.

    • Same problem here, wish it had options for 1 minute or so

    • +2

too much info there about the pee

      • +4

The motion sensor is pretty sensitive, it goes off when I flop it out to pee.

        • +19

It would have to be extremely sensitive.

        • +2

          @OzBeergain:

i think the sensitivity is anything up to 2.5cm

      • +8

maybe it should be rebranded to Xiaomi PeeLight

        • +2

Thank you. Now I can move on to the next deal's comments.

    • +1

Or you could just piss in your pants and save some battery life. True spirit of OZB!

    • 15minutes also isn't long enough for a pee.

  • Thanks OP, got one.
Missed out on the last deal, glad i saved a few extra $ :P

  • does this has anything to do with yee?

    • +1

      you mean Pee?

Scab says: I have the battery one and it's great, only thing that's annoying is the 15 seconds it stays on for, would be heaps better if it was longer or could be adjusted. Have mine in the toilet and 15 seconds isn't long enough to do a pee.

    • +3

Hear ye, hear ye. No it doesn't.

  • I think I read in a previous deal that the battery ones had an option to pick between 2 levels of brightness and this has just the one.
Not sure if it matters to many, but thought I'd mention it just in case it matters and you'd want to check.

  • +1

A lots of spending today :( (Who also got the Mavic from here?) LOL

  • Thanks, got one just to see what's all the fuss about.
Can someone comment about its brightness?
I currently have an Arlec branded night light, (cool blue/white light).. pretty happy with that.

  • +1

How does one charge it if it is stuck (pasted :-) onto the wall?

    • +1

Stick your computer with a USB port onto the wall next to it.

    • +1

      good point!

      • I guess one could take a portable USB charger / battery backup to the light…

        • +1

If it's anything like the battery one I have, there is a backing plate bracket so all you have to do is twist it to remove the light.

    • +2

Here is an idea: 3M Command Small Picture Hanging Strips

They're velco-like. Good quality. I use them for all the battery-operated lights.

    • +1

I've got two of these and am very happy with them.

There is a metal disc on the back attached via a magnet. I used a Command strip to adhere the disc to the wall. The light just comes off easily (but won't fall) when you need to recharge.

      Insane…. Good!

    • Which do people suggest is best? Battery (provide your own) or USB (fixed Li-Ion battery)?

    • hi rep, any chance of getting a deal for the samsung evo plus 32GB?
      ta.

  • +3

    • +4

No worries now people have choices, battery or usb charged

    • +3

Sorry because i had to inconveniently buy one of each? Apology accepted.

    • Done, both deals are now here. Thanks

    • Can the Xiaomi Yeelight USB Powered recharge versions be turned on while recharging the battery?

      • +2

i must be fans of gearbest because i just went up to my bedroom upstairs specifically to test. and YES can. you can turn on, or turn auto and still works while connected/charging to my laptop usb.

        • Thanks Dragonindespair! Just got one myself! =)

    • any deals for the normal light?

  • sigh, Xiaomi MiJIA expired while I took 60 secs to buy something else fml

  • i had 2 but just bought 2 more. all usb.

  • ● Long Running Time:
With a built-in high-quality 750mA large-capacity lithium battery, charged by USB port once can be used up to 120 days, free you from the trouble of frequent charge

I assume they mean standby time?? The one I bought needs a recharge every few days (when running over night on "on" mode)

    • I assume they mean on "Auto" mode, with limited use. On mode will clearly drain battery faster - do you need it on all the time? can't use "Auto" mode?

      • Oh yeah maybe. It's not a huge deal as it's simple to charge. Using it as a nightlight in my daughters room :)

  • ricdam1110 comes up as expired

  • deal seems over
    can we expire the deal?

  • Deals expired - can we get new code please.

  • +4
    Model Battery Brightness modes
Rechargeable model Built-in 750mAh 3.5 lumens (Sensor) and 7 lumens (Always on)
3x AA battery model 3x AA of your choice 0.8 lumens (Sensor) and 3.8 lumens (Sensor)

Whilst this one is rechargeable, I think the AA model is a much better choice in terms of convenience. Whilst the rechargeable model in this deal is just an extra dollar over the AA model, the capacity is just 750mAh and that isn't going to last long. Though they claim it can last up to 4 months, realistically depending on usage you're probably going to find yourself having to recharge every month or two (which is fine if you don't mind).

If constantly recharging would bother you, I suggest getting the AA battery model. Though you would need to invest in 3x AA batteries. For e.g. based on kgb007's stats where his rechargeable model lasts 3+ weeks (let's assume that is 4 weeks), if you use the AA version + 3x Eneloops (5700mAh vs 750mAh), you can forget about having to replace the batteries for more than half a year (as opposed to a month for the rechargeable model).

  • ricdam1110 seems expired.

  • Anyone know of a deal on these lights? Hoping to get 1+ for a Christmas present.

    • +1

Too late for Christmas, I got my one in 1 month.
I'm very happy with it, definitely worthy. Wife is even asking for more.

  • +1

Wishful thinking, yeah. I should've planned earlier.. they'd be good stocking stuffers. Very happy with the one I have too. edit: ah damn, that was supposed to be a reply to ricdam.
