But the free shipping looks like a good deal!

    • They charge 12.50 for Sydney Metro. 13.95 everywhere else.

    good.thanks.

Is this much better than the Logitech Harmony 300?

    • +2

      from wikipedia

300- The universal remote has 1 activity support (Watch TV), and control up to 4 devices. The remote supports customizes key with remote features and favorite channels. This remote has no LCD, and like the discontinued 500 series mid-range models, no battery charge pod. Takes two AA batteries.

The Harmony 510/515 is an entry-level remote that is essentially a replacement to the 500 series and the Xbox 360 version. It features colored buttons typical on most satellite boxes. It has a four-button, monochrome LCD display. This remote is limited to controlling up to five devices. Like its mid-range cousins, the 520 and 550, it has no recharge pod and uses AAA batteries instead.

So guess main difference is no LCD display which on the 515 is appealing can control 5 devices vs 4 and has I believe 4 activities

      • Thanks for the info ozpete, so not a whole lot more but it does look nicer :)

      • 515 has been around for a few years already, I wonder if it will be compatible with modern day device features such as accessing EPG on HDTV and scheduling a recording on a PVR. I've googled this and couldn't find anything specific to the 515 model.

        • any universal/programmable remote is capable of doing this.

For the 515. Its just a matter of programming each device. And then pressing the appropriate buttons. in your case EPG and record etc.

If your talking about doing two or more commands in one step. Then no, this remote does not support macros or queued commands. Only for the on-off functions when devices are selected.

Thanks. I have purchased from BingLee few days back after reading the comments on this deal:
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/36463
Note: Not sure if the LOG30OFF coupon is still valid as mentioned by Sparkyglo. It gives a further 30% off.

Edit: Just check… coupon has expired

Yes that was a great deal. Picked mine up already. If BingLee continue this "service" of ordering and paying online, then picking up in store, they maybe on a winner

      • When did they contact you for pick up? No one has told me to pick mine up yet and I ordered on the 18th.

        • Trance N Dance. If you haven't heard back please call 1300980399 and we will sort it our for you. We try and call back within 48 hours

        • Would be handy if it was 10am…. call centre still closed.

      • hi kridp, any chance for $20 picked up from my local bing lee store? the LOG30OFF code doesnt work anymore. thanks in advance

        • suking already said that coupon code has expired.

        • That expired on Sunday the 19th. You can pick up in store but it still $29.

  • Is it just the black model, or do you also have silver? http://oi52.tinypic.com/2d3xhv.jpg

    • Just the black

      • Lol my local store had HEAPS of silver ones…. albeit at $39.

        • They are all black with a silver face

I bought the silver coloured item at Haymarket, priced at $39 each but I brought along a printout of the online price of $29 and after showing me a few long faces they accepted it. Don't let them trick you into believing that delivery fee of $10 makes up the difference in price as the online representative confirmed that the online price applies in-store.

Went to my local store to pick up. Got a silver one right off their shelves, they had like at least 50 left floating around the store, some by the front door, some in the entertainment area and a huge pile in a box near the entrance.

Got 2 x Silver ones $29 ea @ Cabramatta NSW. 7 left near the counter in the $39 cage.

Just registered today, can post invoice when I work it out from my BlackBerry.

      • Well I just bought one and I ended up with silver… not happy! I want black!

These remotes are great. The only thing I find annoying about them is that the labels on the buttons wares/rubs of rather quickly. After only a few months use.

Hi kridp, I entered the code at shopping cart and I still can't get the coupon code to work, says not valid??? Tried at home last night and again at work this morning. Can I just call up and order over the phone and still get free delivery using this code?

    • Just tested it and its working ok. Call 1300980399 and we will process it for you no problems at all

I've got one of these, not all that great if your main purpose is using windows mc. I prefer my antec remote.. maybe I didn't spend enough time configuring it.

  • Delfredo…
Its a Bing Lee offer not an online exclusive. We make it very clear if its an online only offer. Apologies if I confused you

  • Just picked up 3 515s at Bennetts Green Bing Lee for $24 each, the guy said "We just want them gone".

They had another half a dozen at 10:45am Wednesday. There is no sale sign, they are on the shelf for $99.00.

    Thanks Poster! Xmas pressies sorted!

I set up a Harmony 525 for my mother a few months back, works great, the online database of devices is massive, even uses her Aldi PVR (Bauhn) no worries! Only operational difference is 525 does 15 devices, 515 does 5.
