There will probably be comments about how crap Invicta watches are, and they will most likely be from people who have never owned one. Sure you can spend more and get a better watch, but for these prices I consider this a bargain.

I think this comment from Watchuseek member HoustonReal sums it up perfectly, and he knows watches way better than me -

Even if Invicta is an order of magnitude worse in quality control than Seiko, what does that mean? Do you have a 1/1000 chance of a bad Invicta vs 1/10,000 chance of a bad Seiko? Nobody here has actual statistics about quality and failure rates, so everything is anecdotal. There are lots of people here who have had no problems with their Invictas. There are also a lot of people here who have never owned an Invicta, who will tell you horror stories about someone they heard about who had one.

Buy from someplace with a good return policy, if you're that worried, like Amazon. If Invictas were really as awful as some people here think, they would be out of business. Instead, their big ugly monster watches, not only sell well on Evine, but there are pirated versions of Invicta Reserves being manufactured in China. Do you think Evine would continue hawking Invictas if a significant number of them were getting returned?

Invicta's Pro Diver line is somewhat respected here, with the 8926 being really popular for modding. The 9404 is the same basic model, with different color choices. I have heard people here who have had bad experiences with Orient watches, but that brand seems immune to the hate Invicta garners.

    • +4

Ok but…Do they have a notification LED?

    • +1

he knows watches way better than me -

Praise indeed from a self-confessed watch nerd

    • I have zero experience with Invicta to comment on quality, but have butted into these negative comments a number of times. Pure speculation here, but a quick google of Rolex vs Invicta brings up a number of models which look less like a Rolex homage and more like a direct copy minus the logo. I instinctively (and maybe incorrectly) think 'fake' when I see them, especially on the blue and gold variant of their Submariner-styled diver. And my Thailand experiences with fake = poor quality. I wonder if that's why there's a bad reputation?

  • +9

Value for money, these WR 200m watches are impossible to beat. They only cost a bit more than replacement straps would.

    • +1

      Example:-

OP's 8932OB comes to under $50. Here it is on eBay for $307.92 Shipped and here someone wants $510.73 Shipped!!!

      • +1

        Tell Him He's Dreamin'

  • What's the difference between the 8932 and 8932OB? (I can't see much visual difference, except for the 0,10,…,60 case of the watch face)

I am definitely buying one of these, but which one should I get?

    • +3

The 8932OB has a coin edge bezel & the 8932 is scallop edged. I prefer coin edge.

Did you take note of the diameter?

      • Yes, but 1.5 mm is basically nothing isnt it?

Also, didn't know about coin edge vs scallop, thanks!

      • +2

i own one of each, the scalloped bezel is gentler on business shirt cuffs.

      • +1

Pulled the plug and got the 8932OB, thank you WatchNerd!!

  • +5

No doubt here; proved by two experts, thanks for sharing again! 👍

  • +2

watchnerd and PJC are draining my wallet one watch at a time XD, great post as always

  • +1

i own some of the invicta dive autos and am very impressed.

i considered the quartz before buying auto but i use for water sports so wanted the screw down crown and went with the autos.

the red quartz screw down is a bit loud for me, preffer blue or black dive watch faces and in quartz they are push down crowns.

  • +1

I have a mechanical Invicta Diver and love it. Very good watch for the price.

  • +4

Bought the Invicta 8926OB (Rolex Submariner lookalike) from a previous OzB deal and confess it is a great watch. Very durable, looks smart and takes a lot of punishment.
Only drawbacks? The Invicta logo imprinted, as mentioned by watchnerd above. Plus the awful bright yellow box it comes in.

    • +7

Stop wearing that box and store your lunch in it.

    • waiting for it to drop back to usd$41

  • +1

Might get one for my boy.

  • +3

Plz. Stop tempting me to buy watches.

    • it’s only temptation if there is a possibility that you might be able to resist.

  • Any good discounted digital watches ? Pls post few next time as you come across.

    Love your work as always

    • +1

There are some G-Shock posts in the description under Other Watch Deals.

  • +1

All these watch deals make me think it's time to upgrade from my Flent F8028G

  • -1

Bought the 8932OB a few years ago as a gift to my father. I was really not impressed with how flimsy it felt. I mean for this price it might be okay but if anyone is expecting quality, you'll be disappointed. If you're willing to spend more, go with the Seiko pepsi.

    • +1

I don't like pepsi, do they have a Coke Zero?

    • Those watches are for daily use, other ok watches like Rolex IWC Jaeger Cartier are for occasion wear and best watches like Patek Philippe,Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet are for collection.I dont think Invicta and Seiko have any different as it uses seiko movement

      • Agree mostly, but my SKX and Turtle definitely feel sturdier and more rugged than the Invicta I once had.

      • -1

Either you cannot read or you entirely missed the point. As an analogy, what's the point of owning a Rolex if its in a flimsy and cheap $2 case?

      • +2

i wear invicta auto now and my omega seamaster sits in the draw unless i have job interview or business meeting …. invicta is just as accurate but i don’t have to worry about loosing or scratching the glass on the omega.

for quartz, i have a luminoux in stainless case … very easy to read at night and large numbers so easy to read during daytime.

we are very lucky with the prices and quality we can get in watches now.

  • +2

Thank you WatchNerd, the 8932OB looks great. Bought one for my brother.

    • +2

Well done, the price is outstanding. Perhaps you'll vote on his behalf? You know you want to.

      • +1

You got me there mate - I must've thought I voted already! I'll need to watch myself next time..

        • +1

I hope he likes the watch. These prices are superb.

  • +4

Bought the blue grand diver about 4 years ago from ilovwatches for shits an giggles not expecting very much at all.
Damm thing is built like a tank the screw down gasket is still going strong after much screwing an pulling (grand kids lol).
In my amateur testing it looks like gaining 5 sec a week …bloody good an better than my timekeeping that my eco fliger citizen.
Its what I wear when im doing things as its easy to read and still no lens scratches….so massive up vote for great post of a value for money watch that takes a beating.
BEWARE the metal band is a voracious beast and if you have hairy arms they wont be for long …hehheheeheh
I put mine on a NATO black strap from OZSTRAPS which debut here on OB looks great.
    Well done op.

    • 5 sec a week…just within spec.

  • +1

Cheers for this - been looking for a cheap place to start modding and it looks like I just found with that last listing.

  • WatchNerd, is there a 37mm that is automatic?

    • I don't think so but the Pro-Diver autos are close at 40mm.

      • yes they are close.
Currently looking at these at the moment Seiko-5-Mens-Snk355k1,snke63,SNKK33 but not dive. And the invictas dont luminous hands and markers like these ones which I liked. I wonder if these is one that is around 37mm, small automatic, dive with luminous hands/markers?

  • Grand-diver look good !! :)

  • Not deal related but does anyone know where I can get a replacement bracelet for my Tissot PRC200 at a reasonable price? If not, I was thinking of those custom leather bands from Poland…

  • The 20434 is coming up $14.72 shipping. Am I missing something? I do realise $7.50 in US but that doesn’t convert to $14.72. It comes up as $88.81 total. Thankyou.

    • +1

Never use Amazons currency conversion, use a credit card like 28 Degrees Mastercard that has no conversion fees.

  • What's the normal price for these things?

    • +1

Click on the links to Camel and you can see the average price.

      • +1

        Thanks mate

  • +2

How can you go wrong at $50! Now I will research on what modding is all about

    • +1

thinking the exact same thing my friend!

      • +2

You should buy the Invicta Pro-Divers with a Seiko NH35A Automatic Movement if you want to get into modding.
        The 23678 would be ideal.

        • Thanks for the tip!

        • am looking at the metal bracelet options… just found heaps of threads on modding the 8926OB but its USD$92 though..
          http://forums.watchuseek.com/f71/lets-see-those-invicta-8926…

..is that the official invicta mod watch?

        • +1

Ignore this comment, just noticed your footnote in the original post about the 8926

  • I'm put off by the fact that Invicta is also the name of a female MMA promotion, makes me feel like these are girls watches

    • Lol! Glad I don’t watch mma… I am just telling myself Invicta is some exotic watch name … and I am going to try and mod the name off the watch face 😂

  • Product weight 15.82 ounces! That's nearly half a kilogram.

    • Amazon are known for errors in their specs, this is obviously another one.

  • +1

Grand Diver 3045 a nice upgrade for my BLUE Skemi 1134:p Thanks for posting OP!

    • +1

That definitely is a big upgrade, look forward to hearing what you think of it.

      • Yes a big upgrade in quality and price. However, they're similar in size. For years I just wore a 38mm Seiko watch on my 8" wrist. The Skemi and a few other watches I've brought lately through Ozbargain deals have showed I can wear larger…but the Invicta Grand Diver is indeed a heavy watch!

      • +1

Well after going over the Grand Diver 3045 with a fine-tooth comb it looks perfect to me. Time seems fairly accurate, gaining about 4 sec in a day. I'll be rotating the watch, so even +/-10secs a day would be fine. Yes its big, but not to big for my wrist. I had to remove 2 links, so it could fit wrists up to 9". Mine weighed in at 222 grams (7.80z). First impressions I wasn't keen with the 17mm height, but soon got used to it. I don't intend changing the impressive solid link bracelet with anything that would increase the height.
My only complaint is the "INVICTA" engraved on the side. I'm sure if it said OMEGA I'd be ok…so I'll just have to suck it up!..lol Amazon have a great return policy if I happen to change my mind or see something faulty.
        Thanks again for posting:)

  • I have an invicta 23678. Generally a good watch but some aspects are a bit lax. When I got it, One of band pins were a bit loose and I didn't worry about it. Then when loading some roof racks the band snagged and the pin slipped and the watch fell onto concrete from a 2m height. It has never kept time since. I should have tried it on with amazon for a return because it was only 1 week in. But instead I took the back off and made a adjustment. Its OK now but nowhere near the timekeeping it should be. I reckon this watch also would be great in quartz(8932OB). As it looks nice and you dont have to wear it everyday.

Edit:- From reading it seems the movement in quartz Invictas is pretty average, and the value is in the automatics.

    • I reckon this watch also would be great in quartz(8932OB).

The quartz 8932OB (37.5mm) is smaller than the auto 23678 (40mm).
The auto watches are great value because they are basically Seiko 200m dive watches.

You can see why the time would get thrown out so easily after dropping your watch 2 metres by looking at this video on how to regulate the movement.

      • Yeah 2m onto concrete it’s no mystery. I got it back to around 90 sec fast a week which is ok to me. The error swings a fair bit so there must be some more to it than just the clock spring and adjusters.

Reckon they are a great watch for the money. Mine was a hard luck story.

  • +2

Finally a divers watch for smaller wrists!

    Just ordered the 8932OB

Thanks WatchNerd!!! Thanks again for your earlier recommendation - the Skmei 9120 - been loving it ever since I got it.

  • +2

My 8932ob just arrived today. It looks really nice for the price paid. Thanks WatchNerd!

    • +2

Got mine on Monday too. Loving mine looks great on my tiny wrists.

  • So basically to get a 37.5mm invicta, you need to go Quartz? I'd love an automatic but my wrist is between 6 and 7 inches in diameter so not sure how the 40mm will look.

    • +2

Bought the 23678 and replaced the rubber strap. It’s a very nice watch, value for your money…a seiko auto for only US$68 shipped…Will try modding it in a few weeks. Thanks watchnerd for enlightening us that this was the same 8926OB but rubber strap.. I would have never known and I don’t think very many others do

  • +1

Removed the Invicta wording and clipped the wings on the seconds hand of this 23678… looks much better now
    https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/86487/58595/3b4892e3-5…

    • Nice work, I removed the cyclops easily. I linked to a youtube clip in the description which shows how to do it.
