      I see a trend there ;-)

      • When another good player pounds in, you guys will have to drop it. Good thing is you can change to market plan anytime. But seriously get back the $69 with something like a 1st April group offer. 1000 connections at 100/40 for 1000GB for $69 a month !!

        • +1

We've started the wheels turning to go direct to NBN and will start building out to the POIs in the second half of this year. The aim is to build a name as a high quality service provider at a reasonable price. We don't intend being the cheapest we do intend being one of the best. It is very unlikely that we will reduce prices from these current ones .. it may not go much higher though, this is probably the right level for us.

        • @telecube: Here the competition has responded !
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/370914

ABB now unlimited 50/20 for $79 !! ZOMG
I am sure Telecube will now better it to $69 for 50/20 UL and $89 for 100/40 UL and get 10000s of customers :D

    • +2

I'm glad I got the $69 even with the $99 set up fee. I'll be better off in the long run.

    • Next will be $79 in a couple of weeks.

  • -1

takes me 3 hours to download 1000gb…. O_o… no one should be paying 75 dollars for that plan

    • +2

Why not? That works out to be a consistent 92mb/s.

  • OP, please kindly explain why HFC cannot be churned over and there are delays?

"Note: If you are on HFC please contact support before placing an order, in most cases we are unable to fast churn HFC services and downtime can be 1 - 2 weeks."

    • We aren't able to do a fast churn on HFC, it's a limitation of our platform, hoping it will be resolved by the end of April. Apologies for the inconvenience.

      • Been over 2 weeks for me

  • Hi TeleCube,
Are we able to request line profile changes for FTTN connections?
    What payment methods are available?
Can we elect for a connection date so that billing cycle matches up with pay cycle?

    Do you have mobile plans?

    Cheers,

    • Sorry I don't know what a line profile change is

Payments can be made by credit card, paypal or bpay

There's a notes section when adding the service and you can specify a connection date in there.

      no mobile plans sorry

    https://www.telecube.com.au/internet/nbn/plans/special/faceb…

This offer is cheaper but no details on uploads /off peak .

    Can you clarify please?

    • +1

It's a different offer, no setup credit back and no offpeak data

  • +2

Is it possible to schedule a connection transfer for a later date next month?

It it possible to move to a higher plan to see what performance is like on it, and then evaluate and move to a slower plan if necessary on the same special pricing or do I have to move to a plan on regular pricing?

    • You can include information about when you want the service activated in the notes when adding service.

You can change plans once a month but only to whatever plans we have on offer at the time

  • Hi OP,
If I go on 100/40 Mbps 500GB plan, would you still refund $50 setup fee?

    • Yep, the setup fee credit back applies to all plans under the offer

  • is there a perth POP?

    • There is yes

      • +1

I’m in Perth and considering signing up, is the above important? I’m not NBN savvy.

How have Perth customers found Telecube?

        • Big thumbs up from me! During the day I'm getting 94/35 FTTN in Kewdale, although that can drop to 35/30 during evening peak time. Given the pricing for 1000GB, I'm very happy with Telecube as compared to ABB that I switched from.

        • I am in Kelmscott WA, joined TC on their last offer, 3 weeks ago on 100/40 FTTN, speed has been good for me around 93/35 even during peak time, very happy with them.

        • +1

          thanks dudes!

  • Is there a Adelaide POP?

    • +1

There's not no .. you'll connect to Melbourne .. an Adelaide POP is planned but no ETA at this stage

    • Not yet .. coming later this year

  • I'm in Brisbane on the 100/40 plan. On Google speed test through Sydney I get 51ms latency, 47 Mbps down / 18 Mbps down. Through Ookla speed test via Melbourne (Internode) I get 38ms latency, 93 Mbps down / 31 Mbps up. Not sure why such a big difference than Ookla picking the fastest server.

    • I noticed that in my tests too. Different servers in Melbourne different speeds

  • I am moving next week, can I sign up now and request the service to start on a certain date at my new address?

    • +1

I asked a similar question last time, but mine was if I can preorder. They said no, you have to be ready to connect immediately. So I happily took my business to ABB.

      • Any good deals happening for ABB? Last time I looked their prices aren't too attractive.
With TC's normal price I think I am better off going with optus $80 plan, free speed upgrade to 50/20 and come with fetch tv and optus sports, was studying different nbn plans last night as I have terminated my current plan end of this month and moving to a new place 1st week of April.

        • Yeh, they have an offer going on at the moment where you get double data for 6 months + your first month free with no lock in contracts. You can also use someone's referral though I'm not sure what benefit you get from it.

Note: This offer expires at the end of this month. No lock in contract and no activation/sign up fee.

        • Good luck getting good speed with Optus..my last 100/40 connection with them getting 5mpbs speed during peak hours lol…had to get TIO involved to get out of jail!

    • You can preorder yes .. add notes when adding the service about the date you want the service activated.

      • Just wondering can I pre-order an activation on 2nd April during Easter holidays?

        • yes we'll be available to provision services on Monday

  • How long will connection take for a new building with FTTP?

    • Within 24 hours normally

  • Guys I am coming towards the end of the month so perfect time for me to jump the ship. I am currently with Belong on the 25/5 unlimited plan with static ip for $75. If I move to Telecube what is the turnaround time am I looking at? Is it instant? How do I reconfigure the modem given this service comes without one? If it is instant, I will do it right away today.

    • What is your service connection type?

      • Fttn

        • it will cut across within a day normally, you'll have an downtime of a few hours

        • What about modem setting? Is it easy enough to do?

        • @dealsucker:
easy enough, just put your pppoe username and pwd on your modem (factory reset first if you want)

  • I've been with TC for over 6 months. Consistently getting 93/37 on my HFC in Nunawading, VIC. No peak congestion experienced by me, on the odd occasion I've contacted support due to drop outs they've been very helpful. Email is their main support method at the moment so make sure that suits your circumstances.

  • Joined up with Telecube just over a month ago and super happy with the service. My FTTN service was provisioned within 48hours and speeds are consistent on and off peak. Definitely recommend!

  • I have been with Telecube for 2 weeks in Canberra. Pretty good product. Happy to recommend them. I am on FTTP.

  • What's the go with FTTC customers? Any connected yet?

    • We haven't recceived info yet on FTTC, none connected yet

  • StoreRep - Router is not included - can you let me know which router can be bought and works best?

  • Oh snap… Signed up 2 days too early. I waited for another deal to roll around but couldn't wait long enough it seems. I wonder if it's possible to transfer over to this deal?

  • +2

I literally signed up on friday for FTTN. Not yet connected. Any chance I can be moved onto this offer?

  • I have added my credit card as a form of payment but it wants me to verify it. The transaction won't appear on my statement for a few days. What should I do?

    • Email support please

    • PayPal verification is instant I believe.

    • I was able to see the credit card verification payment almost immediately via my bank's app (NAB). It'll be for $1.xx and you just have to enter the xx amount in the Telecube online registration form.

  • How long is this available for?
Just paid my bill for this month with ABB

    • OP says 31st March

    • you can preorder if you want to .. specify the activation date in the notes when adding the service

I had the worst experience with signing up with Telecube and have since churned back to Aussie BB. I was really happy with Aussie BB and got good constant speeds and liked their customer service.

After I finally signed up (had to sign up online after leaving a couple of messages and no one would call me back) i got connected. My speeds were slower than the 50 mb/s service I had with Aussie BB with my average being around 20-30 mbs. While i was not expecting to have a 100 mb/s service - I was expecting at least 70 mb/s.

After trying to call the contact centre (again - they never seem to answer/have enough agents on the phones) multiple times I gave up and got in contact via email.

I said I wanted my connection looked at or I was going to leave. They said they would call me at a time that suited me- so I worked from home one day and never got the call.

This was the final straw - so I gave up and got reconnected back to Aussie BB in a matter within a couple of hours.

The only plus side of the experience has been they refunded me in full.

If you want phone-based customer service at hours outside of working hours - I would not recommend them.

This was just my experience - lots of other people have been happy. But it seems apparent they are growing faster than they can handle.

Apologies for the inconvenience, email based support is our preference. Phones for when we're not too busy.

      • +3

Wow. What a way to fail at sorting out more complex problems.

I won't be signing up! I'd contact an ISP once every 5 years or so - but when I do something has gone wrong at the ISP end.

      • +2

Wow! what a statement, says it all doesn't it, want cheap with no support then call us, want support go elsewhere!

        • +2

Nope, I didn't say that at all.

We do email and phone support very well. If however we are under high pressure we will let phones go through to messagebank while we work on tickets as it's much more efficient to multitask tickets than it is to tie a support tech up on the phone.

When things quieten down we'll set about returning phone calls.

Ideally though you'll send details of your issue through by email and give us a chance to respond, if the issue is complex and requires a phone call we'll call you.

Aussie BB must be watching ozb. Just received this from them:

Aussie Broadband is offering a new pre-paid trial as a thank you for being a loyal customer.

Until 30th April, you have the option of paying your monthly broadband bill upfront to receive a bonus credit on your account:
If you pay for 6 months upfront, you will receive 1 month of bonus credit on your account
If you pay for 12 months upfront, you will receive 2 months of bonus credit on your account
The bonus credit is equivalent to a 16% discount on the cost of your internet bill over the time period you've chosen.

    • Interesting…

    • Works out to $67.20 for 12 months on 500gb 100/40

  • +1

Are all the connections on CGNAT? If so, do we have an option of static IP?

Edit: Didn't notice the $5.50/month for static IP.

    • +1

Dynamic v4 is available as a free addon though .. just click the button in the manage screen in the portal

      • That's great!

        • What's the difference?

        • +1

@TarquinOliverNimrod: I think that just means with Dynamics IP, you can still do things like hosting a game which would not be possible if you are behind a CGNAT.

        • @TarquinOliverNimrod: Or accessing a NAS from outside the local network.

  • It's effectively the $69 deal with an extra $6 charge to not count uploads.

I'll wait and see what their new offer is in 2 weeks time.

  • +1

I have singed up telecube from the last ozbargain deal for 1000GB unmeter upload for $70 and the service will be connected on 5th April and just wandering if I could move to the new deal and can I get the set up fee credit as well? Thank you.

  • Hi Rep,

On Monday 26 March, someone from NBN installed the HFC connection box outside my house. I'm on HFC network, haven't received the activation update yet but hoping in a week or two. Is it possible to signup now to get back the setup fees?

What have I to do for the first time connection? Do you guys provide the modem, etc.? I am currently with Optus on their HFC network.

    • NTD (kinda like a modem) is supplied by NBN during an installation appointment. You need to supply a router, just about any router will do. It needs to have he ability to input PPPoE details.

Your next move is to contact a RSP.

      • Thanks for the reply. Just had a chat with telecube support and they advise they currently stopped sale for new HFC NBN customer for around six months. I am stuck with old Optus HFC for now.

        • Ah yeah damn. I forgot about that. You can check your address here and sign up for email updates.

  • I moved from TPG 100/40 FTTP to Telecube 100/40 plan 4 months back and I am very happy with the service. Speed is consistently good , even at peak hours. Highly recommend them. Have no complaints with the service.

  • How long in advance can I sign up? Fttn is meant to connect in my area in early May according to the spam tpg has sent me.

    • it doesn't matter, we will just schedule the order the date you want

      • Hi Rep,

  • Hi Telecube..

I see the option to 'Add a service' if I already have an account.

I already have an account for which I have an NBN subscription for my parents, can I use the same account for another NBN service for myself? Is that what Add a Service is for?

    • it is yes you can add multiple services on the one account

  • +2

I don't believe it! I signed up for a churn (is that the right term these days?) from My Republic at 8am this morning, and about 7.30 tonight the internet died. I entered my Telecube details just in case and sure enough, I'm connected through Telecube. That has to be the fastest churn ever. Speeds are great too, 25 ping, 73 down and 32 up. As good as they were on MR.

    Thanks, Telecube!

    • I signed up around 5.30 tonight and I’m up and going too. Super easy.

    • Has your landline ported over yet?

Are you using the $1 MR modem? What connection type are you using?

      • No, I'm on a D-Link DSL-4320L. My parents have inherited the MR modem for their Aussie BB service. I'm on FTTN, about 300m away from the box.

    • If I'm currently connected using the $1 MyRepublic modem, do I need a new modem from Telecube to connect ?

      • You can still use the MR modem, just enter the Telecube username / password they send you.

        • Thanks! Good to know.

  • Signed up. FTTP. Hopefully churns soon :)

  • Hey rep,

I tried to sign up with you guys last week but my account got flagged for manual verification.
Been busy at work all week and unable to call during business hours.

About to leave for a trip and won't be back until next tuesday, any chance you could help the account get set up and signed up to the 50/20 1000GB plan ?

I'll PM you my customer ID number.
    Thanks ! :)

A recent example of Telecube's response to congestion:

    • 1:33am Sunday congestion in Perth reported on whirlpool
    • 1:34am Sunday John respond acknowledging the issue and stating additional CVC will be ordered the next business day, Monday link
    • 11:44am Thursday Announement regarding congestion upgrades for Perth, Brisbane & Sydney

I imagine Perth CVC upgrades completed before Thursday but I'm not certain. Often Telecube are able to order CVC upgrades in less than 24 hours. Nonetheless TC are responsive and if congestion ever occurs it's identified and rectified quickly.

    • +1

Actually the spike on Saturday night didn't continue on Sunday and Monday so we didn't order an upgrade, it spiked up again on Tuesday night so we ordered the upgrade yesterday and it was provisioned this morning.

      • Ah gotcha. So Tuesday night congestion, Wednesday order, Thursday morning upgrade. That's a great response!
