  • officeworks 500 Gb for $79 almost double for $10 extra

that is an unfair comparison IMO,

Its a bit like, "Why bother with a laptop when you pay more for less as compared to a desktop. Sure the desktop is not as small as a laptop but you are not sacrificing the larger screen, processing speed, storage space etc."

ahhh dude…. you posted this comment 4min ago and gave me a negative vote, yet 13min ago I basically made a retraction to the above post just a few posts down. surely you couldnt have missed it? i think thats a little unfair.

        • my apology, when i looked at your post the negative vote was still there.. maybe i should hv refreshed :P

  • People need to take into account the smaller dimension of drives i.e "pocket / passport size" as opposed to just drive capacity…

true…. i'll get rid of negative vote. i was looking at it from my pov, that I value storage over comfact formfactor. but yes, i agree that others would have differing needs.

  • Only if the price was one year+ ago.

MLN had portable HDDs: 500Gb at $49 or 640Gb at $59. I just got a Samsung 1Tb portable HDD for $99 at Harvey Norman.

I think I saw 750gb pocket drives at Harvey Norman today for $80.

Either way you'd be nuts not to get the Samsung 1TB pocket drives for just $99.

Best deal on this exact model so far has been: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/31717

The dock looks snazzy, but not enough to convince me to part with my money.

If you can wait for it, all USB2.0 stock will be on clearance sales sometime next year methinks.

  • Terrible value deal. Equal quality drives with twice the capacity are only around $10 more.
