I've read reviews in the past, and the battery life (and cost overall) was the only notable problem.

Just get rechargeables after using the supplied ones.

    • How much are the rechargeable ones and where to buy them?

      • Ebay

These use RCR123A or 16340 Li-ion cells. Get them from eBay or AliExpress. Brands like Nitecore, XTAR, Olight, Hixon(cheapest) are fine. A battery this size is about 650-700mAh so don't fall for Chinese gadzillion mAh ratings. Expect to pay $5-10 ish per battery X 4 per camera. Use a good charger and they should last a while.

Prefer to have the Arlo Pro if you can stretch your budget - the Pro would have sound detection and 2-way sound (i.e. you can hear from the cam and the cam has a speaker to broadcast your voice thru the app)

Have this system and don't have a very favorable opinion of it. It's flakey at best. Eats batteries like fat kids eat candy, even with rechargables. Some days the detection works flawlessly. Other days, not at all. Sometimes the night vision doesn't work. It doesn't buffer and only records when it senses activity, so quite often there is videos of nothing because either wind in the grass triggers it or what ever triggers it had long since moved on…

At this price, it makes a nice door bell type alert, but that is about all I would use it for. Do NOT rely on this system to surveil your property.

  • I have this for years now with 4 cams attached.
I also got a Rat caught on the cam. ;)
