  • These look terrible, what's a good use case for something like this?

    • Cheaper to buy another one, than a case!

      • +1

        use case

        Not a case.

        • Thanks mate, looks like i need a cup of coffee.

Cheap tablets are only noticeably terrible if you want to use them like an iPad, they're not bad for a fixed control panel.

      3D printer control panel
      Smart home dashboard

I paid a bit extra and went with this Nuvision tablet - 2GB RAM, Windows 10, Full HD - Still cheap, but it's double the price delivered from Amazon US.

    • My 6 year old has one for watching videos/playing games and it suits him perfectly. Plus it's so cheap we don't have to worry so much if he smashes the screen (which he has).

  • I’m coming from iOS but looking for a cheap android tablet. Are there issues with this tablet Only running 5.0 Lollipop? Will I have compatibility issues with apps/home integration?

Comes from $1800 phones, looks at $50 tablet wondering if it's any good.

        wondering if it's any good.

That's not what he's wondering at all.

To answer Tacenda actual question, 5.0 will be fine (for now).

        • Thanks PainToad, much appreciated.

Not a helpful nor considerate comment for a new ozbargain user. Obviously I’m not stupid in my expectations. I asked about compatibility, not performance.

        • Satire. Anyway, to answer your question, a very generic question, it would depend on which app you're taking about specifically.

I wonder why compatibility matters if you can't actually use the damn thing. I've used 1GB tablets that have turned to junk when updated from 4.4 to 5 and 6.

@D3m3ntia: he could still be running iPhone 3 lol

I'd set your expectations low if this is your first Android experience. But if you want something cheap for very basic media consumption, then this would be ok. If you want to use it for home integration, it could be a pretty good option.

    • You dont want 7.0 android with 1GB ram. It wouldn't be optimised. Androids apps hog memory so running anything would just crash.

  • Saw an ex-display model at the Capalaba QLD store for $47.00 this morning.
They also had a Samsung A8 display model (with no earphones) for $148.00 or something. Ex-display as well.

Rank deal.. no stock anywhere. Next

  • These little tabs would be nice Kid's tablets.
But theyre just too slow and laggy for regular things like Google Maps, which is a shame as these have GPS built in.

I used to have a 8gb version of one of these, and I noticed the screen appeared 'stretched'.
It was as if the pixels were rectangular (instead of square).
And even a factory-reset did Not help.

Has anyone else noticed this problem?

    • Well even kids will be annoyed af with this tab because of lagginess and incapability to multitask.

      • Kids demand multi tasking? Got plenty of kids in my family, I've never heard one that wanted to multi task on a tablet.

  • Can you at least watch Netflix on it? Thinking this would make a good in-flight entertainment replacement for Jetstar flights :)
