Thanks! Needed a bluetooth adapter. Had an old one from a mouse combo that stopped working on a new PC for some reason.

      Flat battery? :P

      • +1

I mean the bluetooth dongle stopped working. Windows 10 didn't recognise it.

        • +1

Most (old) bluetooth dongles don't work on Windows 10. You could learn from my mistake, and verify compatibility before buying another one. :)

        • @CocaKoala: It ran fine on my previous PC, but could be because it was a system that was upgraded from Win8.

        • Yes it was a joke. It's the last thing most people bother to check.

      • Doubtful

PS It first thot I was in Canada (showed me CA$ price’g.

Chang’g to AU$ gave me a buy price of 4.27

    • I've got a dongle for my mouse. Is there anyway to Hijack it and send a controller or pair of headphones through?

      • It's probably 2.4ghz and not Bluetooth compatible

        • It's a MX Master 2s. quite new. :L

          Probably just too much effort.

        • @StoneSin: https://www.logitech.com/en-au/product/mx-master-2s-flow
The mouse can either use Bluetooth OR the Logitech Unifying receiver (the thing you plug in to the USB port on your machine)
That receiver uses 2.4ghz to communicate with the mouse… therefore the receiver can not be used to pair with other bluetooth devices.

        • @youknow: Thanks man. :) I'll get a dongle thing :P

        • @StoneSin: if u get the bluetooth dongle u can pair the mouse + other devices to the device (i.e. replace the logitech reciever)

i personal prefer to use the reciever

  • anyone know if this will assist with raspberry pi playing audio through BT? Currently Rpi3 BT dies after playing 1 sec of audio

  • This BT adapter is for PC right ?
Is there any such thing which you can plug into USB port of a TV and use BT headphones ?

    • +4

Unlikely, don't know of any TV that passes audio via usb.

You need a bluetooth transmitter connected to the line out or headphone output of your TV.

    • Not sure if you can over USB but if your TV has a headphone output you can use one of these. Can connect 2 headphones to the transmitter, you can hear a bit of delay some times till it catches back up but overall for the price it works quite well.

      • If you want no delay (well, 40ms delay) you should look at the APTX Low Latency devices, both transmitter and headphones must support it.

        https://www.aptx.com/products?field_product_category_tid=All…

      • BT transmitter and headphone BT receiver will introduce unacceptable latency resulting in lipsync mismatch. Need both be Apt-X LL to avoid.

    • Not USB > Bluetooth, the TV has no ability to install drivers to make it work.

You can get Auxillary audio > Bluetooth though.

      • Does it cause any delay in sound to a Bluetooth headphones when connected to a TV?

    • U can buy a xiaomi bluetooth receiver or something similar plug into audio then use the USB to charge it then it will always have battery.

  • You can't enter multiple promo codes at the same time?

    • One Coupon code works per order.

The HD caddy looks like it would be good for those Optiplex deals. Replacing the CD with a SDD.

    • I think it's for notebook only. You need the 12.5mm one.

      • +1

crap really? Oh well I'll find out when it arrives.

These Bluetooth receivers are awesome. Replaced the inbuilt Bluetooth on my flaky Compute Stick. Picked one up last time for $0.99 USD but definitely worth it at this price too.

Darn it, i just bought one for $15 :(

  • Will this work on Nintendo switch to connect WiiU controllers?

    • No, not at all. The Switch controllers already connect with Bluetooth, and while it would be simple to make the Wii U Pro controllers work with the Switch, it's unlikely to ever happen, and unless we get something like hid to vpad for the Switch it's unlike the Switch will ever support them without a specific adapter for $50 or so.

      • You can make Wii U Pro controllers work with switch with a Bluetooth dongle (USB in the dock). They are like other Bluetooth controllers .. rumble won't work. Good enough for a lot of games and useful if you already have those controllers laying around. You need a certain type of Bluetooth compatibility though not just anyone will work and I was not sure if this is it.

My guess is they don't want to directly support or confuse people with 'native' support of the old WiiU pro controllers mainly as they won't be 100% compatible with switch games since they don't have motion control built-in.

  • heh awwmaan, i paid $15 at msy for a csr bluetooth adapter a couple of months ago. then a couple weeks later found the exact same one on ebay for $6 - only the logo was different - so i bought it pretty much just to make myself feel better about overpaying for the first one (also as a spare) :p

both work fine with windows 10, range and speed/latency is good as well. seems most of these csr chipset ones are identical…now to go back in time and save myself 9 bucks

  • So with this bluetooth adapter, can you send music and files from your computer to your phone (and vice versa) without having to connect a cable?

    • +2

i tried this with my S7, but it was about 4x slower than using a cable. not worth it if using just for that imo

      • Thanks mate, I think I'll pass then!

If you wanna transfer stuff from your computer to your phone, try this app

      https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smarterdro…

I'm sure there are other similar apps, but I've been using this for a very long time and it works flawlessly.

It transfers files via wifi, you need to pop the address that comes up on the app, onto a browser. Have the layout of the address favourited so you can access it faster. You can drag drop stuff, and it'll upload/download stuff from your phone. There's a free version available, but I can't remember what the limitations are. It seems to upload pretty fast too, I get about 10-20MB/s.

The only issue I have is, ever since android 4.4 or something, they've limited the ability for apps to write stuff onto sd card (no fault of the app developer). I'm not sure if it's changed since, but you would need to root your device to allow apps to write to your SD card. Something which really annoys me, not just with this particular case

      • +1 to this. I've had that app for a few years; haven't had much need to transfer stuff lately, but it does work well.

      • +1

You don't need to root your phone just to write to SD card!
Google has made Android phones more secure by requiring your permission for an app to write to SD card. You should get prompted when automatically when this permission is required. If you you don't get prompted, go to Settings /Apps/<app name>/Permissions and enable Storage permission.

Does anyone know if this is good for gaming with BlueTooth controllers, as in, the latency isn't particularly terrible, just average? Going to search the web now as well.

    • +1

Sod it, so cheap, I got it anyway.

      • +1

I don't know about this one in particular, but I've gotten a cheap bluetooth dongle before and it works fine with my dualshock 3 controller; I don't think I've experienced any noticeable delays in key presses.

  • Says $18.01for 3 bluetooth dongle?

Looks like code is for 1 item only

If you want a desktop PCIE card for dual band 2.4 and 5GHz wireless, and bluetooth, I recommend the following.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/High-Speed-433Mbps-2-4-5G-Dual-B…

  • The USB Cool Mist Humidifier 130ML Mini Ultrasonic Aroma Essential Oil Diffuser is $14.26 after applying the coupon, Not $9.99

    • All the prices are in $US. Humidifier is US $9.99/ AU $14.26.

      • Wow, over 40% more in AUD compared to USD, when the AUD is at 0.74.

  • Purchased the USB Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter Dongle! Thank you.

    • is the brand/model any good?

  • Thanks op, bought the glowing cable, for some reason

  • Hi Op, any wireless/bluetooth earphone on sale ?

  • I've bought a couple of bluetooh USB dongles but so far have not been able to get any of them to work successfully with the CSR Harmony software so I can transfer files (windows 7 x64).
