  • Does this support USB wireless adaptors? Would be a pretty sweet unit if it did..

  • No USB wireless dongle support.

A wireless bridge will allow wireless (802.11x) access to an RJ45 port on any 802 enabled device – no need to for long runs of cat5(6) utp if you already have 802.11x in your 802 network

Other option is Ethernet over power adaptors (more $$) but a good option if you transfer large files over the network (no drop out issues)

  • AV inputs handy if you wanna record foxtel, but otherwise this is a pretty good unit for those you wanna have a PVR with twin tuners straight outta the box.

For about $500 you could build an atom pc based box that'll do a whole lot more though.

For the price and delivered, pretty good bargain! + vote

    • +1

Just to clarify, the DP lite model does not have an AV input. It is the DP-P2 that has the AV input function.

      • thats what i was saying, AV useful (but this one doesnt have it).

re-reading my above post I can see how someone would think the opposite, thanks for clarification :).

  • Does it have quad recording?

    • Dual tuner

  • Only $11 cheaper than JB-Hifi

    yawn

    • This Realtek clone is a great little media player/streamer with DVBT recording but when it comes to scheduling EPG
recordings from multiple channels the unit is limited. Not the same.

  • Not sure about this. I had a Dp-2 which I sold as it was not easy or intuitive to use. If you are buying a PVR do your research carefully first.

    • It'd be great if all these PVR/media players had videos of their interfaces.. I know that my PVR has an OK interface, but it's pretty boring and limited. Where as my media player is XBMC - which everything pales in comparison to. =]

    • Yeah OzPete is right. The Beyonwiz is really not easy to use - too many buttons for too few functions. Also, while recording is great, the fast forwarding is not accurate at all. I don't mind my Bwiz, but I do often wonder if there isn't a better PVR out there.

  • That Playtronic unit is less stable than your Topfield/Beyonwiz etc , it's only as good as it's last firmware update, also i read the manual for a unit with the same chipset, i get the overall impression it's primarily a media player with pvr features tacked on

  • Are you sure p2 lite support mkv?
