        • It's worth a read in my opinion, if not only to get a good idea of the different types of people this site attracts.

        • +1

          sorry for starting that fabulous comment of mine

        • @dragonindespair:

          it was possibly the most fabulous comment of all time and will be remembered for all time

        • @samelight:

          lets just stop here, we will lose 20-30IQ points from comments like this.

      • US does get 15% but maximum discount is US $100 only…The only problem with 10% off here is PJ….

    • -2

      Because they have 15x the population.. their revenue would be so much higher.

      • +19

        with the same logic it would be totally free in India or China?

        • Assuming their online marketplaces and consumption of materialistic objects are the same, sure, but they are not.

        • -1

          @Lorindor: so we ar assuming AUS and USAs' online marketplaces and consumption of materialistic objects are the same ?

        • +1

          @samelight:

          I don't assume, but I would say they are similar, with America clearly being the winner here; hence their higher percentage-off sales.

        • -1

          @Lorindor:
          so how about UK ? what u reckon? what % they should get ? i just love the way ppl BS like this lol.

        • +1

          @samelight:

          How about them? I imagine they would get very similar deals to what we get here in Australia.

        • -1

          @Lorindor:
          they got 0% discount. u reckon they should file a complaint?
          how about singapore ? what u reckon ?

        • +1

          @samelight:

          they got 0% discount

          Actually, they've had numerous 10% sales in the past month alone.

          how about singapore ? what u reckon ?

          How about them? Obviously their eBay sales are non-existent.

        • +1

          @samelight:

          Checks out that you only joined at the end of July last year, seems like you completely missed most of the deals we got.

          eBay AU would have a pretty smashed budget after that, it's fair enough that they haven't run anything bigger at all.

          We literally got like 6 15% off deals and an 18%, which is more than any other country.

        • -1

          @Lorindor:

          i got no reply if u counting something from the pass.

          How about them? Obviously their eBay sales are non-existent.

          if u ar saying there ar no local sellers from sg, im speechless too.

        • @samelight:

          i got no reply if u counting something from the pass.

          Right, so your argument is that if it's not currently running, it's not comparable?

          if u ar saying there ar no local sellers from sg, im speechless too.

          I'm struggling to understand the point you are trying to make, feel free to explain it further.

        • -3

          @doweyy:
          im not saying ebay shold do this or that, im just questing ppl use the "population" to calculate what % we should get! plz don't join the middle of a conversation without knowing what we ar talking about.
          of coz unless u ar thinking the same, US got 15x more population thats why they got 15%.

          oh wait ! u ar the guy whos saying US got 15x more population thats why they got 15%… ok …lol

        • @Lorindor:

          Right, so your argument is that if it's not currently running, it's not comparable?

          yes of coz dude! wth u thinking?!

          I'm struggling to understand the point you are trying to make, feel free to explain it further.

          no, im the one who struggling to understand what u mean, u literally said "their eBay sales are non-existent" with singapore, what???

        • @samelight:

          u literally said "their eBay sales are non-existent" with singapore, what???

          If you are aware of any site-wide eBay deals that the rest of us don't know about, please share them.

        • @Lorindor:

          If you know about any site-wide eBay deals that the rest of us are unaware of, please share them.

          dude u lost me again! wth u talking about ?

        • @samelight:

          You were shocked when I said that site-wide sales on eBay Singapore were non-existent, which translates to me that you think I'm wrong or simply just don't understand.

        • -1

          @Lorindor:

          both. do u mind explain what u mean by "site-wide sales on eBay Singapore were non-existent" ?

        • @samelight:

          As far as I know, either eBay Singapore doesn't have site-wide sales, or they aren't as popular as those hosted by eBay Australia.

        • @Lorindor:

          As far as I know, either eBay Singapore doesn't have site-wide sales, or they aren't as popular as those hosted by eBay Australia.

          they did have a "site-wide sales", so what u mean is for UK u counted the pass but for sg u don't? sorry i didn't c that coming.
          and btw! u said their eBay sales are non-existent without the word "site-wide"! this is why i don't know wth u talking about! they always have some "sales".

          anyway, we should stop here be4 the swearing at each others, u have a nice day.

        • @samelight:

          they did have a "site-wide sales"

          When? I count the eBay UK as a comparable sale as it was quite recent.

          and btw! u said their eBay sales are non-existent without the word "site-wide"!

          One would assume that's what we're talking about, given we're discussing this on a deal for a site-wide eBay sale.

        • @Lorindor:

          When? I count the eBay UK as a comparable sale as it was quite recent.

          July… yes 2018!!

          One would assume that's what we're talking about, given we're discussing this on a deal for a site-wide eBay sale.

          ya i assumed u will use the same standards to compare UK and SG, and i was wrong.

      • That's one theory. However they can expect to not get any extra revenue from me with the relatively paltry 10% off. I can appreciate this will be of use to some but I will hold out for a better discount or just not shop at all.

    • +1

      something something…lucky country…something something

  • I'm waiting 15 & 20% coded from UK & US, stuff 10% off AU unless I had to buy something

    • Unless you had to buy something, wouldnt you stuff all the discounts?

  • Sorry noob question - can this be combined with ebay gift cards?

    • +1

      yes

      • +1

        Thank you :D

  • +11

    < insert I just spent $1000 on ebay yesterday comments >

    • I cracked last night and bought something for $110, then i see this first thing this morning. My suffering is real.

  • Interesting how Officeworks refuses to be part of this sale.
    Also it seems most big sellers no longer list Apple products on eBay.

    • +2

      It's because it impacts their brick & mortar stores, with price beating policy.

      • +1

        Other retailers such as TGG specifically don't and won't match their ebay store prices in their T&C's. Also they can simply exclude ebay for price beating.

        Sadly the list of excluded sellers grows.

        • Yeah. It really undermines the value of these sales.

  • +15

    Kinda regretting the ebay plus now, have literally bought less since i've had it due to poor promos

    • Ha! me too. Brought less, but nice to have some extra guarantees. I've used the guaranteed delivery dates to advantage.

      • +1

        Where did you bring less to?

    • +19

      Kinda loving the eBay plus now, have literally bought less since I've had it.

      $29 has saved me from a whole heap of spending lol

      • I tend to ignore every ebay plus deal on here now too.
        But this deal is for everyone though right? not just ebay plus members.

        • +2

          hardly seen any plus deal now as ebay sweet talked so hard and dragged all of us into the game and now what they do? pull out all the plus logo now that seller who charges postage, game is over, wondering how much they made for all these signed up?

  • +1

    10% disc but 10% gst?

    • +5

      Just buy from Australian sellers.

    • +2

      yep, break even. Times are tough "2018"

  • +6

    I'll be the first to say it then - Thanks TA. i appreciate it, even if it is 10% only :P

  • +2

    already pulled trigger on the US 15% off ebay sale

  • 10% discount aka break even day

  • +4

    No eBay Plus discount again, they're not doing much to keep me paying a sub.

    • Yeah whats the point when everyone gets the sales…

    • Lol I think eBay themselves don't know what they're doing.

      It's like they're playing it all by ear

      • +3

        almost as if it's a knee jerk to what amazon has with prime

    • +1

      You have already got your cheap eBay Plus micro SD card deal earlier, so now it's time you pay full price ;p

    • It's a 12 month subscription! What are you expecting exactly - hundreds of dollars of savings each week for your $49 (or $29) fee?

  • +2

    Why Target has suddenly stopped paticipating?

    • You were able to refund for full price in store credit.

    • +10

      They weren't targeted ;p

  • +1

    Thanks TA as always :)

  • Question - For items that have "make offer". If I place an offer for an item and it gets accepted, can I apply the 10% voucher on top of that? Anyone tried this before?

    • Yes you can apply the 10% after the offer has been accepted.

      • Epic sauce.

        • Yeah but if they accept your offer after the deal is over, you're f****d lol

        • @montorola: You could always cancel the offer 10 minutes before the voucher expires.

    • Based on past expereience, yes.

    • Yes.

    • yep whatever the price at checkout is what the 10% goes off from (personal experience)

  • is this the birthday/anniversary sale?? usually that's in mid-september isn't it?? and last year it was the 18th birthday with 18% off… i was expecting a 19% off (or thereabouts… maybe 15% off) in a couple of weeks.

    • +1

      I’m wondering the same thing. Sitewides are fairly rare. Take it now or wait til the birthday discount which isn’t guaranteed?

      • Or wait for the next US 15% sale :)

  • Bought on the us eBay sale. So I'm good to go.

  • I expect in the next few weeks, another 10% for normal users and 15% for ebay plus member. Or 15% for normal users and 19% for ebay plus members! Common eBay Australia!

  • MI MAX 3 here i come!!!! - hoping/.////

  • Can you buy now and wait to pay until tomorrow?

    • This has been the case previously.

  • max discount 100
