      I think they misunderstood split bill vs split payment. Ive tried that at Din Tai Fung Melbourne, I've used several $50 gift cards to pay they said no splitting bills. I said im not splitting bill. Told them to charge $50 first, then another $50 and so on, and they did.

    I can confirm that the news agent called NEWSXPRESS in clayton victoria, near the bus stop can do myki top-ups. There is a sign that they charge 1.75% for Amex. But when I paid they did not add in the 1.75%. Guess I was lucky.

    Read a few posts on here about hey you top-up triggering the cashback for other members, it didn't for me and amex chat said it wasn't a listed merchant so all good.
    Got a request for credit for a local restaurant which is listed on there but didn't trigger and reported two suburban stores which are listed on the map but didn't accept amex :)

    Went to Zouki yesterday and everything went well, topup 3 cards to ensure i got the email, then went back for the remaining cards.. Gentleman very accomodating and willing to do multiple cards as long as no customers waiting..

    Anyone know how long would you see the credit back? I've just did a round of Opal top-ups on Fri. Today, the transactions are all cleared (no more in Pending) but still don't see any credit back yet - and yes, I did enrolled and see the offer in all my cards.

    When I used it at a participate takeaway, the credit available after 2nd day.

      When I asked the amex people on chat they said 5 business after that you can ping them on chat and they can help.

        How do you do online chat with Amex? I want to report a business that very reluctantly to accept Amex but the business is listing as a Member Favourites on Amex.

          Depends on what card you have. Don't think live chat exists if you have a DJs Amex Card (I've never seen it before)

    Foolishly used the Amex Shop Small Guide Wiki and searched for the word 'circular quay' for the opal top up. Went and did 2 top ups at EzyMart - not realising there is a whole table entitled "Not working:" :(

    Maybe would be beneficial if all items in that table had strikethrough on the font to avoid others getting confused.

    Back to the drawing board for Opal top ups!

    Wattle park Surrey Hills worked for me.
    Something to watch out for here is that contactless does not work so you will need the card to swipe. Apple pay doesn’t work.

    Does anyone know of any places where Itunes or other cards can be bought?

    I topped up last year and this year at Wattle Park Amcal - no problems, no surcharge. Thumbs up to the friendly lady at the cashier.
    Noted same as comment above.. you need to swipe card.

    Daily News on Little Collins (no surcharge, no issues)
    Victoria Harbour Pharmacy & News (no surcharge, funny -with a sign for Amex Shop Local Myki Top-up with special lane)
    Swanston St Lotto (surcharge 3% and not happy sales lady)

    How much commission do they normally get for Myki top-ups? 5% ?

        OPAL NSW shop told me only 2.5% commission. They said without surcharge they barely make any money out it.

        Amex merchant fees are around 3%, still a small profit for Myki ;-)

      Lady or man, Swanston St Lotto never seems happy. I avoid it altogether, even if it means I'm missing out on an overall discount.

      Ended up having 1 credit left and didn't get around to using it on Friday night.

    Just successfully topped up my Opal card in Nextra Newsagency within Nepean Village in Penrith NSW - there doesn't appear to be any surcharge (no signs mentioning surcharge and my AMEX statement recorded a $20 transaction). Got the confirmation email from AMEX straight away.

    Last Opal recharge at Spar Redfern - 2 cards only, surprisingly served by a lady full of different attitudes when show amex cards. want to charge us $40 in one transaction and only can top up one opal card. The lady arrogant as F*%&, then seems fine to serve us, further, go ask us check ID for amex card. Both of us looking at this lady in disgrace. End up ask her just top up one card. Then we just walk over to another nicer girl to top up another opal cards. Little drama but at least got there, glad it's the last day for all, for them and for us…
